Lemme get this straight, someone payed $900 for 3 sony PS1s?

BAHAHAHAHA! Really a good lesson on read before you buy not assume..

Surely the buyer's ID is not his phone number????!!!?

Let's all call him and congratulate him.

I feel a change coming in the sellers 100% positive rating.

wow, even bought a Wii...... description is misleading about the 20GB systems when concerning the Playstation.

Gullible perhaps, but I'm sure that if the bidder realised he's bidding for 3 PS1's, instead of just 1 PS3's, he'd retract his bid... that bidder might, for all we know, be trying to get a special Xmas present for his kids, and instead he's going to get fleeced because of a cynically deceptive and deliberately misleading advert... Call the guy gullible, stupid even, but I despise these folks who seek to exploit people like this. Disgusting... 👎:grumpy:

I'm sure that if that bidder complained to Ebay he wouldn't be made to pay it. Anyone should be able to see that the wording is misleading especially when it mentions the 20gb hard drive.

It's amazing how much people pay for items on Ebay. I have a side hobby of finding cheap items on the net, listing them at say £5-£10 higher and people will pay that higher price rather than look around the net. I think I made about £950 last year just from doing this about 3-4 times a week. This year I'm up to £1052.

While I don't agree with the tactic taken, the seller isn't the only one at fault. If something is listed on ebay and you don't bother to read the details of the item, that's your problem. Could it have been worded better? Of course, but it clearly stated:
You're bidding on Sony Playstations, 3 of them.
The reference to the 20GB systems, while also slightly misleading, is completely factual.
THERE IS NOWHERE TO FIND EVEN THE 20GB SYSTEMS THIS CHEAP....BUY THESE INSTEAD!
Nowhere does it make reference as to what the 20GB system actually is. It is us, as wishful thinkers, that assume he is talking about the coveted PS3.

Sometimes in this world you need to get burned before you learn to read the fine, or in this case UPPERCASE, print.

The same thing happened when some idiot payed about 800$ for a PS2 box when it came out.

Man, I just wish people would actually READ before bidding. OH well, it's not my cash :)

Don't you guys call it the 3PS over in Europe? :dunce:

It's not like it's a different planet. . . Oh, wait. Yeah.
Our state was founded by old Spaniards, and theirs from English prisoners...so it all evens out.

LMAO

ROFL

OMG

LOLBBQ

PWND and a HALF.

That is the best ever. I feel soooooooooooo sorry for the people who bought that...

NOT!

I think it was worse with the XBOX 360 where people were selling "pictures of an xbox 360" or "the box my xbox 360 came in" but weren't informed of that until the last sentence of a long paragraph about the xbox 360 and everything it can do. Now thats low.

If you're going to spend that much money one ANYTHING, you're a fool if you don't read, reread and rereread the article description.

The only way I'd feel sorry for him was if it turned out the bidder knew nothing about consoles and was trying to buy a christmas present for his/her child(ren).

Kinda like SRV2LOW4ME said, there once was an "Xbox 360 (empty) box" for sale with a 99 cent starting bid. Later sold for $845.

I sold an e-mail accoun, well it was actually a small collection of accounts on behalf of an organisation to another orgainisation for over £10,000 waaaaay back in the day I was a dirty good for nothing downright evil agent for an internet company in Manchester city center.

Is there a way to report this auction so somebody else doesn't get screwed over?

Edit: Done. Talked live to a representative and should have that auction closed soon.

And the best part...

He probably won't know until it gets to his house:trouble: :p

I'd say he is pretty stupid for going for a PS3 for 900.They are much less than that. I've also heard of those selling a picture of something scams. Some people are really idiots, ir that's their way of donating to charity.
