Apart from the Enzo, however even though it's not bad, it isn't accurate sounds like a stock 458 :/

Any of the old Honda S Series. They sound like toasters being dragged across the floor. Don't put racing exhausts on them.
 
That Lamborghini sound. I hate it. It sounds like....a giant fly.

As I've never been dragged beind a tuned Enzo at 240mph I shall take your word for that 👍

This get my vote. My wife came downstairs cause she thought something was wrong with the house. Told me to change cars or turn it off. :lol: This was when you had to use it in one of the seasonals. Thats the last time I've ever used it.
 
Anything with a racing exhaust mostly. Recently, fully tuned Countryman sounded pretty awful (sorry, can't think of a good metaphor)
 
I can't really name one really bad example, as I couldn't really choose just one! So many bad sounds, misplaced displacements (V6 noises from V8's and 4cyls, V8 noises from V12's etc) and the myriad of copy and pasted "that'll do" notes from the titanium racing exhausts. Then there's the sound mix, which is far too biased on the transmission whine, when it should be the exhaust that is most audible, a quick glance over YT in-car footage shows this all too well. I couldn't hear the transmission whine in Kaz's car in the recent Nurburgring 24hr race footage in the GT TV video! :dunce:

If I had to be really honest though, I just don't think the rotaries sound quite right. Most of the Mazda RX7's, and to a certain extent the 787, sound like a canal boat!
 
The Prius TC has been mentioned a couple of times, but I'm voting for it too. The sound was so annoying I actually abandoned a seasonal event because of it. It is the worst sound I have ever heard come out of my television EVER, and my 6 year old daughter watches Justin Beiber videos. That's how bad. To add insult to injury I fully worked the prius. This car sounds exactly like the Chapparel 2J looks.

Plus, the majority of cars in GT5 sound horrible (not like a car at all) with an exhaust on.
 
I actually like the sound of a full race exhaust (ie everything from the header back...just the titanium part normally kills the sound). What I LOATHE is the full custom transmission. Damn thing makes every single car sound like a broken vaccuum cleaner.
 
I recon they got the engine sounds from the actual cars (where applicable, as the X2011 sounds like an F2007), but the upgrades were botched guesses at the true outcome. A sound patch in a future update is needed to fix the 'dead cows' & 'so bad, it makes JB sound good' cars. Do your homework, PD, & try to get an A+ at it, please.

Nissan Leaf - Sounds like a Boeing 777 from the bumper view (yet it's electric)
Jag XJR-9 LM - Exhaust sounds like someone gargling acid
 
Jay Leno's giant piece of s**t is probably the worst, maybe a very old and slow car, almost every car sounds good in this game...

Tandem drifting with an RX-7 sounds like there is a fly buzzing about your head:yuck:
 
To be honest, it might be from the perspective of being in the car but the sound of cars in the GT series always sounded horrible but the cake goes to ...... the headache Miev from mitstu.

Ok here is a quick list of cars i Think sound great, and sound like absolute S***.
(opinion)

BEST:
5.Isuzu 4200r (Racing Pipes) High tuned muscle sound also used in Premium
GT40
4.Taurus Sho(Semi Racing Pipes) Same sound also used in SL600,65,55 and 500
3.Any Rotary with racing pipes
2.Merc SL55(Stock pipes) very close to real car sound, unique to that car.
1.VW W12 Nardo(Racing Pipes) Very good W12 sound, Low end Sounds PERFECT.

Worst.
5. Racing Pipes on MR V12/10 cars Lambo 640/aven, Cien, LFA, ect
4. Racing pipes on RAM, Vette, Opium motors.
3. Escudo
2. Stock pipes on Merc F1
1. stock pipes on CIEN, Completely wrong, RL sound closer to first Ascari

The alfa 155 touring car sounds like a wasp in a tin! Great car but I can't drive it with that horrendous engine tone

Worth trying :

TVR Griffith 500 ( stock and semi racing ex. )
TVR V8S ( stock and semi racing ex. )
 
replay camera, looking out back, on Ferrari F40, coupled with custom tranny.

I wish they sounded this way when driving them.

Spyker Laviolettes have awesome unique sounds too. silent grumbles that keep controllable high speed pace with BMW's on the Nordschleife.
 
Just cause it sounds bad doesnt mean its not realistic.

Ever heard an Audi R10TDI, very quiet and not like you'd think any race car should sound. Also, those older DTM cars did sound very high pitched and weird, just the nature of the size/type of engine and exhaust.

Not sure about the DTM's though.
