Worth it to buy GT1?

I just started playing GT1 again for the first time in 4 years, after playing GT3 since Xmas. I'm planning on starting afresh and working my way through each game in order, getting 100% on each game before moving onto the next one.
Funny thing is, I noticed there is a greater sense of speed when driving in GT1. It was the first time I'd actually gone "Woah!" when driving a Honda CR-X DelSol. In GT3, this car would be so horribly sluggish, I'd only get the same effect of speed if I was driving a Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34).

thats what hooked me on this whole gran turismo trip, that GT1 sensation of speed...the first time i played it was in a sony display trailer at virginia beach, all you could do was race 2 player in arcade mode, and i was hooked (i beat a guy who looked like a doctor, he was using a nsx, i was in a viper
