Would Iconic Cars Make a Comeback?

What do you think? Initial D, Wangan Midnight, Starsky and Hutch, Duke Brothers, Night Rider etc...

Would you want to see some of those cars in GT5?

otherwise known as movie cars.. i dunno. I'm sure some people would get a kick out of driving the Lexus Minority Report or something.. and IF they bring customization into the game, people will MAKE a Dukes' Charger..

It's an interesting idea....but I don't know how "iconic" some of those cars are around the world. They're probably really iconic depending on where you live, but I'm not sure how iconic the Duke Brothers car is in Japan...

If we have abilities to create our own liveries, we may have the chance to create some of these cars, but honestly, I don't see the point in PD having to model some of these on their own time.

I imagine the SS version of the AE86 will return (Takumi's car from Initial D) but I doubt many if any others. Nor do I personally want them.


RacingFreak2k3's idea of creating them by custom liveries is the best way.

I'd argue that the Initial D/Wangan Night cars are not iconic. An Icon means that everyone will instantly recognize it. Cult cars for JDM fans at best, but not iconic.

I'd argue that most of japanese people won't know what starksy & hutch car is. I would say all those cars a icons in their contex . After all GT5 is a japanese game and those anime cars would make sense to japanese people like those hollywood stars would make sense to western people.

Considering that, I'd say none are truly icons in the truest definition of the word. The closest one would be the Back to the Future Delorean. Everyone knows that car. (Then again, some young ones won't...)

Examples of automotive icons: 911, Corvette, Mustang, Miata.

Non-automotive: Coke, McDonalds, Jordan.

I'm not sure I can put any of the others in that category.

I believe there allready IS a "movie Icon" car getting slipped in.
a couple years ago, Burt Reynolds was working with a tuner to make an "update" package for the 70's Firebird Trans Am to make a modern update for the Bandit. I only head rumors, though...somewhere.

most of these wish list movie vehicles are probably allready slipped in the master wishlist that people seem to have forgotten about...especially the "michael Bay" transformers.

Correct.. Movie cars has absolutely nothing to do with the GT series.

I'm having a hard time getting what you are trying to point out.
But still, Gt is all about car culture. many different cars, Tuned import tuners, legendary muscle, to concept car's, Why not include "realistic" movie car's such as the green mustang from bullet, the shelby from gone in 60 second's
Or car's from initial d, like the AE86, which appeared in gt4 as the shinengo version, also the Yellow Fd was in gt2 as the mazda speed RX7, There are alot of nice tv/movie car's

Not iconic car's as in driving speed racers mack 5 down trial mountain.
