Since the US and the UK are running out of oil on the battle field, anyone think they'd use the Iraqi oil to dethrone Saddam? Other than the fact that it takes years to process oil into fuel....

Does it take that long to process oil? And how are we running out of gas already? We should have plenty. Friggin' Alaska has plenty of the delicious black stuff.

No, the Collation is not running out of gasoline. It just takes a while for the support group (fuel, supply trucks, etc.) to catch up with the strike group (tanks, armored carriers, etc.). That's why they need to stop for a while to refuel. I think refining oil in Iraq would take too long to make into gasoline to use.

Why would they? Isn't it supposed to be for the Iraqi country? Isn't there enough oil in Alaska?

There is not much oil in Alaska at all. That's why they won't be drilling in ANWAR. Texas, the Gulf of Mexico, parts of South America, the North Atlantic, Oklahoma... all great sources of oil.
