Would you buy GT6 if...

It was a glorious day when I finally got my PS3 in 12/2011 SPECIFICALLY for GT5. Honestly, after this being my 5th purchase in the franchise, I'm just happy they finally got Ferrari and Lamborghini on board (holdout pricks, ha!)

Anyway... if 6 is on PS3 I am there in a nanosecond.

If PS4, well, unfortunately no matter how much I love the game I'll be circuiting GT5 for a few years until the new hardware is in a price range I can justify :-(

Ps - if it does go to PS4 I agree that "standard" should be abolished from all words descriptive of said release x-(

Purchase of the next GT6 ought to depend on to what degree the directors could pay attention to the underlying problems that can be a cause of annoying players, and how much they can please us with unprecedented stuff.

No, I wouldn't. I don't care if the "standards" were GT5 premium quality. If PD think they can get away with having inconsistent car models again, then that's just laziness on their part and they won't be getting my money for that.

Yes. PD is "lazy"

That explains the attention to detail in the physics and inner-workings of the car...

I'm no fanboy, but the anti-PD sentiment by so many around here is silly.

Hey i love having 40 different Skylines and RX-7's. I hope in GT6 all cars are modeled equally, but I still want a used car dealership.

If not straight away, i would buy it just because i have with most other GT's.

Day one buy for me as well, I absolutely love this series. I would appreciate if all cars were premium, but if GT6 standards were what we have now, I wouldn't complain since the premiums now are already about as good as I ever imagined.

I just want a rock solid framerate (no tearing), have 20+ opponents on the track, more sophisticated AI, better track graphics, fix shadows and smoke pixelation, and please give us the option to customize our cars a little bit more. Oh a better selection of wheels couldn't hurt either.:sly:

Hopefully GT6 won't be such a "work in progress" game GT5 was. Of course with as much of a perfectionist Kaz is with the series, we may get more patches lol.

It makes me laugh when people call Kaz a perfectionist, judging by the state of GT5 he is anything but!

We all thought GT5 would be nigh on perfect when released, now it must hold the record for most patched game!!!

It had "standard" cars (premiums from Current GT5) and GT6 had a development cycle similar to that of GT5, were by upon it's release, the standard cars looked incredibly dated?

Also, if you could deal with that, would you still get it if it turned out to be rough around the edges like GT5 before it's updates? Sound off below!

IMO, while I love GT5, this game was the lowlight of the series to me. If GT6 came out with the problems listed above, I'd consider not buying it to be honest!

You're opinions? :)

I'd pay $200 for the Signature Edition. This game, combined with this site and a few others, in addition to the loss of possible jail time for being an idiot... bargain.

Now shut up and take my money!

i would even get signature edition:) if there would be something worth the money:)

Well, I would assume that GT6 is currently under development so I would hope that PD wouldn't have to remodel every vehicle. I would think that GT6 would only have premium cars but only time will tell.

Regardless of what's in it, I'll buy it.

I am sure the premium cars in GT5 are already "1080p ready". Just look how they are looking in the photo mode. And without standard cars, the car list would be very short. So I think we'll get them as well in GT6 as standard cars. Don't think they'll remodel them all, maybe a few. :sly:

And like it looks they are going to create GT6 for the PS4. So for me the main question would not be "Would you buy GT6...", it would be "Would you buy GT6 & a PS4?". A huge difference in terms of $$$. :)
I already regret it that I've purchased GT5 (Signature Edition) + a PS Slim (250gb). The money would be better invested if I had upgraded my PC & made it Battefield 3 "ready". Dang. :ouch:

Imo GT6 must have some "OMG Features", something I need to have. Else it's not worth. Disappointed enough from GT5, all the bugs & a horrible online mode. I need something with long-time-fun, a working online mode, a working time penalty system. :ouch:

I don't need a PS4, the PS3 is a great BluRay player & does everything I want: 1080p, Deep Color, 3D & 7.1 HD sound. No need for an upgrade. :D

In GT5, it's disappointing that 800 of the cars can't be used with some features such as photomode, all because PD doesn't want anyone seeing how flawed they are. Importing last-gen car models and not updating them is something that should never happen again. If PD think they can get away with it a SECOND time, then IMO, that's lazy. Some of us just want a consistent game, just like every other racer out there. I'm sorry if that seems silly or "anti-PD" to some.

@ OP: If i was about to buy GT6, it gotta be better than this. There are certainly good changes done, as the game is updated, but pretty cars and tracks won't make you a good racing game, if it all feels like "i've been here before". :)

I would(sorry WILL) be buying a ps4 and gt6, because as much as most people here will disagree with me, GT5 IS the best racing sim out there today, regardless of the standard cars. This game took what, 6 years to develop, can you imagine how much longer it would have taken if the standard cars were premium? The only other option would be not to include them at all. How does this benefit anyone? I know that I would have a couple of hundred less detailed cars in my garage than not have the option to have them there at all. I don't care whats included in GT6 when its released I will be buying it, regardless of console. If I have to buy and new system so be it.

As for the online, yeah there has been bugs and such, but this is PD's first venture out into the world of online coding (correct me if I'm wrong). Maybe they have learned a thing or two and will either get help with GT6, like the COD series did with MW3(not that they needed it), or apply what they have learned from GT5, either way I think that the improvements in GT6's online section will be vast, and that can only be a good thing.

That's a good one
. Get your facts (and that's without fanboy bashing). :sly:👍

If its not BF3 sensationalism then what is it? I have both BF3 and MW3, and I prefer MW3, couldn't tell you why, I just do. If somebody else prefers BF3 then thats their choice.

I guess you haven't watched the clip posted before? Listen to what the guy has to say. :sly:

MW2 was the first & for sure the last game of the CoD franchise I've purchased. Well I have to say the game itself was a lot of fun, the first 3 months. Then it got hacked to hell & the publisher did ZERO to fix it. :banghead:

Here's a good example of my MW2 experience:

What you pick will only show what kind of person you are.
If you are a lone star rambo & you don't care about crappy grahpics & hackers (or you want to hack), you want a unrealistically jump & run game, then get CoD.
If you are a team player, you can handle the :censored:load of tasks to be sucessful in the game & you want superrior graphics and sound effects (only on PC), then get Battlefield. :)👍

Back to GT5.
If they don't improve their game & make the online mode enjoyable, then that's it for me. I don't support a game with a bad long time support. Collecting all cars & stuff for months to have a great setup for online racing, just to find out later that it was kinda wasted time because online is a totally nightmare isn't really funny. :dunce:

And there's still after one year & tons of patches no big difference (online) compared to the release version. Adding tons of new cars, tracks, gear & DLC doesn't make the thing better, if the online mode don't get the required love. Very frustrating & I am kinda on the edge to give GT5 the "finishing stroke". :indiff:

There's a competitor sneaking around the corner, Forza. And as I can see, they have improved a lot from Forza 3 to Forza 4. Tons of features that GT5 don't have. I wouldn't be surprised if Forza 5 on the xBox 460 (or how ever they want to name the new one) would beat GT6. :sly:

Speaking i'd say no. But when it will came out probably i will buy it, just because i like GT since first came out; it's something like a tradition. But i've to admit that premiums are the major problem. And it should contain more race cars and new ones. The race cars of GT5 are old, too old.

No. I would not.

As much as I love GT games, GT5 is a let down and a step backwards. (IMO)

Edit: Yes of course I will buy it. But please no more standards.
Would you have preferred if the game had only the 200 or so premiums and nothing else?

To a certain extent, I share the frustration with the car models carried over from previous games. The lingo should be 'standard' for all the newly modelled cars (currently 'premium') and 'basic' for the 'standard' cars, which I think is a fairer assessment. Having said that, the driving physics appears to be no different, whichever side of the garage the car comes from. Which might actually be the most important aspect.

As for "Would I buy GT6..", well of course I bl**dy well will, and no doubt it'll be on preorder with Amazon 2 years before release, just like GT5 was.

And no doubt it'll be full of things that delight and frustrate me. So long as the former outweighs the latter...

To zegermanbasterd, MW2 was hacked to hell, this I know, but, I have yet to experience this in MW3, I'm not gonna get into an argument with you about which is better, because thats a argument that will be never settled, as far as I can see MW3 and BF3 are not the same type of game. They may both be FPS but they are completely different. Like NFS and GT5. MW3 is a faster game were the matches are quick and action packed, whereas BF3 may be graphically superior but if you don't have enough time to spend trawling through all the tasks and everything then you will not get the full enjoyment of BF3, like I said I have both games and for some reason I always find myself putting MW3 in the slot instead of BF3. Also from your reply I gather you don't have MW3, so how can you possibly expect me to take any negative comments from you about it seriously? I know GT5 is the best racing sim out because I have a XBOX and Forza, and guess what, I ain't turned the XBOX on in over a month, and my gold subscription ran out last week and I wont be renewing it. The only way you can make derogatory comments on games is to play them, not for half an hour, but for weeks, learn about the game, how it feels. Only then can you make comments and people will take you seriously. Although I do agree with you about the online section on GT5, there are problems that need addressing, which hopefully will be sorted by the time GT6 will be released.

Yeah, me too...

A few beers after work always make the experience in GT5 more enjoyable. :dopey:

A few beers is nice... more than a few and you learn why not to drink and drive... lol.

A few family members that play me in multiplayer I usually have to drink more than a few to handicap back to their level some... Ive even been known to pull over mid race, go to the fridge, get another beer, crack it open and take a sip then get back in the race and win still (using a car that is 100-200PP less than the person Im racing)

Aaaaaaw, come on, GT will always be GT & as long as it plays like a GT game I don't care if the cars look like crap :)

I think the premium cars of GT5 could easily last for some years and be used for GT6 maybe, I'll wait until I see it at that time though.
GT5 may have been disappointing in certain ways, but it does what other GT games did unlike other games; I'm still playing it almost every day after more than a year. So in that way it'd be stupid to not get GT6.

At this point the biggest thing I miss in GT5 is more (strict) GT mode races, with cars as reward (that you can't just buy at the dealership).

... MW2 was hacked to hell, this I know, but, I have yet to experience this in MW3 ...

Give it maybe 1-3 months, once the hacks are out you'll get the full enjoyment by getting headshotted across the map. It might be not as ridiculous on the consoles as on PC, but they are there. :D

... I'm not gonna get into an argument with you about which is better, because thats a argument that will be never settled...

Agree, see my previous post. :)👍

... but if you don't have enough time to spend trawling through all the tasks and everything then you will not get the full enjoyment of BF3 ...

Like I said, if you can't handle all the tasks, then it's nothing for you. Battlefield is serious & mature gaming. ;)

... Also from your reply I gather you don't have MW3, so how can you possibly expect me to take any negative comments from you about it seriously? ... Because MW2, BO, MW3,... it's always the same "boiled up" game. Same code, same engine, same graphics, only the map "skins" & the weapons are new. Cashmaker for the publisher & a easy target for the hack creators.

I play shooters only on PC, main reason are better graphics (at least for Battlefield), dedicated servers and mouse/keyboard support. My experience is based on more than 1100 hours of gameplay on Bad Company 2 and more than 400 hours of Modern Warfare 2. I think that's enough experience to compare both franchises. :)

And if you really think that d0n7bl1nk (the guy from the video above) don't know what he's talking, then you must be a fanboy/troll. :sly:

Ohh and btw. your wall of text doesn't make you look very mature. :D

Edit: just noticed on my games list you can play MW3 for FREE this weekend on Steam. I wouldn't even think, lol.
