Would you like an online showroom in GT5?

Would any of you like to see Gran Turismo 5 sport an online showroom which displays your creative rides? (a site with your PSN account linked to it). Of course there'd have to be a livery system.......

MidnightClub: Los Angeles links your PSN account to its website and you can show off and rate each other's cars (and even sell them!) It's pretty neat and the competition is fierce. I think with the ridiculous GT car count and impeccable detail of all the car models, it'd be an excellent idea. The online showroom could be an outlet for those with great artistic talent or those who enjoy admiring such talent.

yeah I uploaded many cars I created in nfsu,u2,most wanted,pro street to nfsunlimited but
1) we dont know if gt5 will have some sort of advanced customization
2) if yes, I think it would be a mess with tons of uploaded aberrations (exotic cars customized like rice civics). I don't want any of that.

I'm totally against a livery editor in Gran Turismo 5.

The reason being is that if I just bought a Bugatti Veyron in real life, the last thing I would do is ruin it by applying goofy stripes and letters all over it.

Some people like the idea of a livery editor, so if it's included, those people could make good use of it to create their dream rides. Myself, I would not touch it - except to make a silly car.

When I used to work at GameStop, we had just got F-Zero GX for the GameCube and it had a very basic livery editor where you could create words and pictures as vehicle logos. I created a vehicle that had large breasts on the hood and sides of it, several obvious curse words above and to the sides of the breasts and the F bomb large and plainly visible on the vehicle's roof. I then added male genitalia on the rear of the vehicle and then set the game up for demo play.

I can't tell you the laughs we all had watching everyone play that game - especially the 8 and 10 year olds. The best part were the looks of shock and horror on the faces of the parents when they came to collect their children to leave the store; only to see just what it was they were playing and what was on-screen at that moment.

Good times.

Yeah, maybe a livery editor is a decent idea after all.

If you read the rest of my post, you would see that I said that very thing - that I wouldn't necessarily ever use it - but given the option, yeah, I might fiddle around with it - but not on a car that I particularly liked a substantial amount.

The problem is that when there are a ton of spongebob designs, everything else gets lost in the mix.

If PD were to incorporate a livery editor and a way to display your creations, then they should keep it organized. For instance, in the "art" showroom you'd find random designs that have absolutely nothing to do with racing (like spongebob, batman, whatever). In the "competition" showroom, you'd find realistic racing liveries. Then everybody could have what they want!

Yeah it would be a very nice feature.
I also want all the stats similar to Killzone 2 website. Even watch replays of all online races you've been to. ( Repay of map and dots.. B-Spec look a like)

I would like the online showroom featureg, if when you upload a car with a certain livery, you have to write a relevant sentence to the car and people can search for the car, instead of having to look at cars which might be what you want but are not. But if people debretly(SP) spam irrelevant words so the car is seen get 3 chances and if they do it 3 times they are not allowed to upload any cars no more.

I think livery is a must. The competition flaunts it, so I think it should be added. I mean, why not put racing stripes on a Ferrari F50? Gives me chills just envisioning it. A yellow F50 with black stripes stretching throughout the sexy body.

I'd love to have it but I think there should be some type of screening process that each car you upload should go through to get rid of all the filth.
There should also be a way to prevent someone from buying a livery from the showroom and then uploading it to sell as their own. Those who have played Midnight Club:LA know what I'm talking about. There were hundreds of The same Fast & Furious R34's and Red Bull Gallardo's you had to sift through to actually find a half-way decent car. In all, I think the Gran Turismo fan base is mature enough to handle a livery editor but there will always be a few that will take advantage of it.

If you want to have online racing leagues, which many many of us would like to see, you'll need to have a livery paint shop. I mean, unless you want every car to be the exact same one?

I'd absolutely throw a fit if that's what we were stuck with. Well, for one post, but really. That would get as old fast as having the same six + six tracks to race in Prologue. 👎

These are great ideas. The tuning company is genius I'd love to see a line of my own creations with the same liveries/paintjobs while each of them are uniquely tuned to my liking. It would be like owning your perfect garage.

First idea. Maybe if there was a sculpting section/modifier for body kits it would be even better. I can imagine former WRC cars like a selection of McRae's and Makinen's with detail to detail replica body kits on them. As well as the livery editor it can help to create cars that PD didn't first include in the game.But then again you would get 10ft tall spoilers on the rear and front ends.

Second idea. Not just a whole body kit you can buy but separate parts including front bumper,rear bumper, sideskirts, hood. However if PD go over the top with this like neons and scissor doors, it would be ruined.

Third idea. A scrap bin. Unwanted things that the creator dosen't want. As soon as they are deleted they are added to PD's database in a "bin." It might produce inspiration, it might produce awful ricer types.

EDIT: I would also like to see actual manufacturer options when you buy your car, costing you that little extras. Such things like flappy paddle gearboxes opposed to manual gear sticks and sat nav. I know this isn't necessary and it would propbably set the game back another year but I like it when just the little touches are added.

With the wide range of cars across all years and makes. A decent livery editor and online car shop would be Epic and is a much needed feature.
