Panamera. People hate on it a lot but from what I hear from reviews it's a brilliant car. The back hump thing is there to allow for more storage space/rear headroom and apparently the driving dynamics are awesome

Miata. Drop a couple grand on it (just eat Soylent for a few months) and do an LSx swap.

-> ...
I'll do a comparo. I haven't done one in forever.

1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

Or

1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V
^ I'd get the Biarritz easy, it's the pinnacle of American automotive design. Infact, I might as well park it on my living room and drive it only twice a month. :sly:

My turn to do one:

1979 Ford F-250 Custom 4x4

vs

1985 Ford F-250 4x4
^ I'd pick the '85, more useful overall and a better looker too! ;)

2012 Morgan Aero Coupe

or

2008 Wiesmann GT MF5
^ I'm a wise guy, so I'll pick a Wiesmann. :D

So, would you rather have a:

Lotus Evora '09

or

Lotus Exige

or

Wiesmann GT MF5

or

SciYoRu 86-BRS
^ The BR-Fizzle is sooooo out of place here, so I considered it as a special mention.

-> So out of the three. I hate the mere fact that there is no specific spec for the Exige & Evora. So my answer is the same as above, the MF5. :)

Here's another one...

Land Rover Defender (Hard-Top)
110 Wheelbase
2.2L 4-Cylinder Diesel 360Nm Torque
Fully Loaded/Equipped
About £28,000

1995 Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ75LV Troop Carrier
112 Wheelbase
4.2 V6 Diesel 276 ft-lb Torque
Fully Loaded/Equipped
About $38,688

2012 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 461 LWB Professional [/ B]
112 Wheelbase
3L Turbocharged V6 Diesel 295 ft-lb
Fully Loaded/Equipped
A whopping £80,000

^ Oohhhh! A L/R Defender 110, an L/C 70, and a G-box! Hell! I'd take them all!!! :sly:

Ferrari 458 Italia, Price reange: $230k

Rolls Royce Ghost, Price range: $240k
^ If it was the Wraith, it'd be a tougher choice. But it's the Ghost so I'll pick the 458, even I got a annoying distaste towards it... :indiff:

2013 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG MSRP: $95,900

OR

2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid MSRP: $99,000
^ How could you not pass the Jackhammer!? It would be stupid to pick the Pana-Hybrid, I'd take the Model S Perf.Plus over this Porsche. ;)

Roadster battle now!

1999 Honda S2000, F20C 2.0L I4 VTEC, 178kW/238hp, 208Nm/153lb-ft, stock.

vs.

2004 Mazda MX-5 SE, BP 1.8L turbocharged I4, 121kW/162hp, 206Nm/152lb-ft, has custom exhaust and air filter.

vs.

1999 Porsche Boxster, M96-21 2.5L flat-6, 150kW/201hp, 260Nm/190lb-ft, stock.
^ Yes, yes, I have an S2K. I'll try not to be biased whatsoever.,,

986 Boxster -> Based on the description you provided, the 986 Boxster isn't an S so it doesn't provides much of the fun quotient as the 986 S. And servicing it can be a bit scarily tough/expensive. But this boxer-6 engine is a tough cookie! Plus the double-trunk/boot is always a big bonus!!

NB MX-5/Miata -> Sure, there is a warehouse full of modding potential for the NB MX-5/Miata i only it's a NON-TURBO. This my friend is a special MX-5, modding a special car is somewhat makes me queasy. If I were you, get a standard NB with a 1.8L N/A IF you plan of customizing it. So the MX-5 is not always the answer here.

AP1 S2000 -> For right out of the box, this is the default choice. It's almost as fast as the 986S (by a tiny margin), an engine that will last, that glorious engine sound (& that is without mods!), & timeless restrained looks. But its high-strung 2.0 engine can be a damper in daily driving. Plus you have to respect the car before you dance with it, as it will bite your head off.

:)

Mercedes CLS63 AMG vs Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid -
No competition, the Merc. Who doesn't want to slide around in a big exec-saloon which they can then drive to work in? I am sucker for big executive saloons, and Mercs have a special spot in my heart. Hell, I would take the CLS63 AMG over a Carrera GT2! Granted, I'd have to think about it for a while, but I'd still take the Merc! AMG power!

S2000 vs Miata (Customised) vs Boxter '99 -
The Boxter looks horrendous, in my opinion, so that is out. Now, the Miata or the S2000? I personally believe that the S2000 is a better car than a stock Miata, however I love a decent Miata and this one even has upgrades! As people mentioned above, though, the Miata is more prone to breaking down and looks far girlier than the S2000. So, I guess the S2000 it is, then. I'll take it in Glossy Black with some nice dark grey Enkei RPF1 rims, thank you very much =)

So now, my turn. Battle of the real convertibles!

Would you rather have a:

Used Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible '03, valued at $65,000

8.3L V10
500bhp
6-Speed Manual
15,214 miles
Aftermarket rims
Well looked after

or

New Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible '14, valued at $56,000

6.2L V8
455bhp
7-Speed Manual

2014-chevrolet-corvette-stingray-convertible-leaked-image_100416485_m.jpg

I'd have the Panamera, in part because it feels more luxurious, and partly because it has Porsche handling.

Boxster, easily.

Corvette. Not a Viper fan myself.

Ferrari 458 Italia vs. Rolls-Royce Ghost - Uhh, why do I need a huge, ugly luxury car if I can afford a 458?

Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG vs. Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid - Mercedes, for the reasons again.

Honda S2000 vs. Mazda MX-5 SE vs. Porsche Boxster - MX-5. I don't see the girliness in it, it's a great machine.

Dodge Viper SRT10 vs. Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible - Viper.

2013 Corvette vs 2003 Viper. Too easy. I absolutely hate that Viper and every model coming after it (except the new Viper that's coming out). So Corvette.

I'll have a Vette convertible with the auto. Better for cruising and Im not after 10/10ths performance of 7 speeds, its a vert anyway. I just think it might suit the car better.

S2000 v. Miata v. Boxster: S2000 without question. The Miata still comes across girly to me even though they are nice to drive. The Boxster never really appealed to me either and ever since the Caymen came out I also preferred that.

Viper v. Vette: Since I'm not a 50 year old balding man having a mid-life crisis I suppose I would go with the Viper, although the only people I see driving Vipers are slighly richer versions of Corvette owners. I like the Viper a whole lot more though and I think it's a cooler car.

Viper SRT-10 ZB vs. Corvette Convertible C7: Hmmmm.... I'll take the monster with that V10 engine, the Viper.

These will never be proper sports cars if they aren't RWD.

No.

95 Land cruiser for me Now thats The offroading king

Because it's not a lifted Ford with a 351 Cleveland right?

530i VS A6 VS GS300 VS E320 VS Legend

Out of these five I've experienced three in some form or another, though both the GS300 and the E320 were a generation or two newer. Dad leased a GS300 for three years a decade ago, and it seemed like a pretty nice car at the time. Looked alright, had a well appointed interior, and was quite roomy in the back. Dad testdrove an E320 when he decided to get back into luxury cars. I think the car was seven years old at the time, but it rode comfortably, was quiet, felt quick, and had a great Harmon/Kardon stereo. Not to mention the exterior looked great (one of my all-time favorites) and the interior was equally nice. The E34 I rode in was a slightly older '92, and it was a 535i. Didn't feel so great, felt worn out and I didn't like the way the road felt under it. It's hard to explain because some cars have a lot of road feel, but they feel solid at the same time. This 535i didn't, yet it did feel solid...hard to explain as I said. I'll attribute these faults to the age of the car though. The A6 is out because it just looks frumpy. The Acura Legend's a pretty nice car, but if I chose it I'd just regret not having the beautiful coupe version, so that's out. The GS300's out because the first generation model wasn't particularly sporty like the second gen tried to be. I'd prefer an LS400 of similar vintage. I'll throw out the E320 because I'd just wish I had the beautiful W211 E-Class. That leaves the 530i, which is fine. Nice interior, nice exterior, well built, good performance and good handling.

Elan VS Elan VS Capri VS Barchetta VS Roadster

I have no good reasons for eliminating the rest, but I'll choose the Roadster (which isn't an overpriced Golf by the way) because it's a Mini, and Minis are fun to drive, and convertibles should be fun to drive. It might be a little slow in 120 horsepower guise, but the '13 Cooper I drove with the same engine actually felt pretty quick for just scooting around town. The Roadster adds nice exterior styling and a sportier driving position (it's hell to get out of though) and the novelty of a droptop which works in a sunny climate like Phoenix. I hope the air conditioning is up to the task.

Eldorado VS Continental

Eh, I'll go for the Continental. If I'm gonna have a car that big, at least let it be a four door.

'79 Ferd F250 4x4 with a big engine VS '85 Ferd F250 4x4 with a bigger engine

I'll go with the '85 Ferd and invest in lottery tickets, in case I win which could cover the fuel costs to get to the store.

Aero VS Wiesmann

The Aero may have the headlights off my mom's Mini, but overall the Wiesmann's a cooler looking car. I'll take that.

Evora VS Exige VS Wiesmann VS BRZ What?

This isn't even fair.

Defender VS Land Cruiser VS Gelandewagen

Not the biggest fan of the Defender, just seems a little too punishing. Big fan of the Mercedes though, especially the G65. I'll take that.

458 VS Ghost

Not a fan of the 458's looks, could care less about modern Ferraris (or any modern supercar, boo) and the interior looks a little too funky. The Ghost looks better, rides like silk, is whisper quiet, and has enough power to embarass almost any other car I dislike on the road.

CLS63 VS Panamera

The Panamera's just fugly, which is a damn shame because the interior is beautiful, and the performance is great. The Hybrid part doesn't bother me because it's not a supercar, but the CLS63's emphasis on speed and power is more appealing. Not to mention it looks better, and the interior's still great. It'll sound a lot better too.

S2000 VS MX-5 VS Boxster

The S2000's a great performer and has a wonderful motor, but I just can't get past how freaking bland it looks. Nice driver focused interior, nice sound, but such dull styling. Wouldn't be able to stand it if I owned it. The MX-5 needs no introduction, but because the Boxster's here, it's out. The Porsche looks a whole lot more interesting, has a decent interior, but makes up for it by having a more exotic layout. Sure others would call it a hairdresser's car, but that's just limited to haters on the internet. Besides, what hairdresser ever made enough money to buy a Boxster?

Viper VS Corvette

Corvette, can't be assed to explain why; it's late. :P

CLS63 v Panamera

CLS63. The Porsche looks horrible...

S2000 v MX-5 v Boxter

MX-5. In my eyes it will be the ultimate little sports car.

Viper v 'Vette

I'll take the 'Vette. The Viper always looked like a wannabe muscle car... it never made it.

'99 S2000 vs.'04 MX-5 vs.'99 Boxster

Hands down I'd rather have the S2000.

'03 Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible vs. '14 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible

As much as I love the Corvette, I'd rather have the Viper just because it's different. I'm willing to bet that once the C7 is released, I'll see more C7's on the streets and cruse-ins than Vipers. Additionally, nowadays it seems like V10's are becoming extinct.

Roadster battle now!

1999 Honda S2000, F20C 2.0L I4 VTEC, 178kW/238hp, 208Nm/153lb-ft, stock.

2004 Mazda MX-5 SE, BP 1.8L turbocharged I4, 121kW/162hp, 206Nm/152lb-ft, has custom exhaust and air filter.

1999 Porsche Boxster, M96-21 2.5L flat-6, 150kW/201hp, 260Nm/190lb-ft, stock.
Sorry I missed this, I would have the S2000 easily.

Great autocrosser or canyon carver, good aftermarket support.
And that F20C along with its stiff x-bone frame, excellent weight destirbution and sorted double wishbone suspension make it the clear winner.
Dont care that its old, its dead reliable anyway.

The old Dart. Its more special and it represents a time where excess power didnt have to cost the world.

Especially in the case of the Dart with its compact body for a muscle car. I also love the touches both inside and outside the car.

The fact that its a 383 sealed the deal, story has it Chrysler engineers couldnt do it and instead a bunch of techs from a performance car dealer actually made the first 383 Dart which then convinced Chrysler to put it onto production.

'69/'70 Dodge Dart vs. '13 Dodge Dart

I don't really car for the newer Dart, it almost a reminder of how late 70's and 80's muscle cars compare to their late 60's or early 70's predecessors. By no means do I consider the newer Dart a muscle car, but I wish it relatively as powerful as the older one. Long story short, I'd rather have the older Dart.

My problem with the new Dart is this:
alfa-romeo-giulietta-00.jpg

In person, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful cars you can buy today. I guess I'd still have the new Dart, because of the chassis, but I'd still rather have its corporate twin.

The new Dart. I can't think of anything I like about a vast majority of American car built in 60's and 70's.
