Back in 2010, when Lotus was owned by Proton and Dany Bahar was CEO, they surprised everyone with five concept cars at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. None went into production and Bahar was fired two years later for alleged misuse of company money to fund his lavish lifestyle. But let's pretend he did get these cars into production. Which would you rather?

Esprit. Mid-mounted 620hp supercharged 5.0 V8 from Lexus.

It's the mid-'90s and Japan's Bubble Economy is about to burst. But hey, we don't know that yet, so which sports car are you buying?

Very difficult choice between the Mitsu and the Mazda.
It will be the Mazda for the rotary engine though.

Oh, the 300ZX is named in line with the predecessor, the 280ZX.

The predecessor to the Z32 300ZX was the Z31 300ZX. The 280ZX was the Z30. I’ve always felt the Z32 should have been called the 300Z not only to avoid confusion between it and the Z31, but to signify the return to a more capable sports car. Both the 280ZX and Z31 300ZX were more grand tourers than sports cars. The Z32 was no motorized armchair. It was a proper sports car again.

NSX followed shortly by the RX7.
