GMC. The new Ford trucks look terrible.
Oh. My. God. Did I just read this right? Did you really just say you'll choose another brand over a Ford?
Heavens, what is this world coming to?

yes think the ford looks okay but the GMC is a bit better.Oh. My. God. Did I just read this right? Did you really just say you'll choose another brand over a Ford?
Heavens, what is this world coming to people actually say there opinion.
You know that how?

I'm.....shocked! You are a 100% Ford guy, I have read every one of your posts when it comes to cars and trucks! Always have impressive info about them, from 351 up to the crate block V8s!
Even though I love Fords myself. If I said anything like that about Nissans, Dodges and Porsches (and my other favorite manufactures) sometimes, I scare myself!
And I'll take the GMC as well.
I am definitely a Ford guy and that's not to say newer trucks aren decent as they all have good qualities but they just aren't eye popping to me like the old ones are. The old ones scream tough and make me work and these new ones are like they are designed for chicks. I don't care about riding in comfort. I don't care about luxury. I don't care about gas mileage. I don't care about all these nice features. I don't need them. Only thing I want is a radio and heat in the winter. Call me old school but that's how I grew up and I intend to stay that way. These trucks out now are not worth the money they ask for them in my opinion. Old trucks have just as good tow ratings and are simple machines to perform routine maintenance on. I hate all the new computer trash as the don't make my life simpler, they make it a living hell to do anything with. As an example I can go into my truck right now and have the motor pulled and trans dropped in 15-20 minutes, motor running on a palette in another 5 minutes or so. That's how simple they are to work on. I even think I have the number of bolts to remove memorized. Lets see 4ish for the trans mount, 12 or so (give or take) for the bell housing, 6 for exhaust manifolds, 4 or so for the engine mounts, and 4/5ish for the transfer case off the back of the trans... Pipe does cross over under the trans pan so that mount comes off. Tack on another screw. Couple oddballs screws for clamps on hoses and what not. Nice thing is hey are all easy access. Lots of room to work. Boom done.
I mean, just compare the F-150 Lightning with the F-150 Raptor! Please don't start that comparo on this thread though, it would be far too easy![]()
The Lightning is still too new for me. Though it is one of the newer models that I find interesting. The Raptor is definitely high on my list of new models I like. When I talk older models, I mean like this:I would take the Ford, because I actually love the new Ford trucks' looks; I think they look a whole lot tougher and better than the older models. Anyway, the technology in the new trucks is something I adore, too. It makes difficult tasks such as hill-climbing much easier, while also making you more comfortable. This is just my opinion, though.
You just blew my mind...
The Lightning and the Raptor are two completely different beasts, you can't really compare them fairly.
It's like comparing a Range Rover Sport against a Bowler Wildcat.
They're both special versions of the F-150 truck, though. The only difference is that one was made much earlier than the other, making it older, making this a viable comparison. I was comparing Ford trucks from different time periods, so I think I can use these two trucks to prove my point.
I agree with what you're saying, though; the Raptor is far superior. However, that is because of all the new technology in it, which is exactly what we're arguing about.
The Raptor is developed to go off-road.
Uh yeah haha. I don't like the new body styles. In fact I haven't really really liked new ford trucks. I hate just about all of them save for the few early 2000s F250s. Last good Ford trucks were the 1992-1996/97 models.

What have I started.Anyway I also heard that they have weak transmission's.
Well you can say that. I am a Chevrolet fan. but I respect all bands.I'll be the first to admit I know next to nothing about modern Ford transmissions.
Expedition for me. Chevy suburbans aren't exactly known to be reliable.
So was the F-Series for 50 years. Then it died in 1997. Take a modern F-150 like I showed in that picture out in the sticks and you'll pop a tire. 👎
Which is why I still see so many on the road.
I understand what you're saying but you do realise you posted a bunch of modified old trucks and then said a completely standard modern truck couldn't go where they go?...
I mean, would this be able to go as far as those other trucks you posted? Or even as far as the modern one? Gotta compare like-for-like.
