So it is GP time again, this time at Silverstone. This is one of my favoured tracks, it should be a decent race.

Many of the teams tested here not too long ago and McLaren showed alot of pace, I'm pretty much expecting Kimi to get pole and walk away with it, with Alonso in toe.

Predictions
Kimi
Alonso
Button
Rubens
DC

Wow, no replies!

I really would like to see Button do well on his home GP. But I think he will struggle to get on the podium, 4th or 5th is more likley.

Who reckons he will go real light on fuel to get on the front of the grid?

Haven't posted anything on F1 threads lately so here goes

McLaren showed pretty good pace in France and Kimi's pit-strategy was great. I hope Kimi wins this round, because it's pretty difficult to catch Alonso in championship points if he keeps finishing before Kimi :dunce:

Well, gotta wait till the free practice to see what's going on

I want to see a great battle between Alonso and Raikonnen, something that seems to have been avoided so far.

So Blake, getting fed up of making threads most weekends? :D

I wonder how things are gonna go with this whole london episode.

im gonna go WAY out on a limb here and take a guess that kimi dominates again. i think montoya finally puts an entire race together and i expect one of the toyotas to have an strong race.

Kimi should win, providing that he has no reliablility problems, hopefully Alonso finishes down the order so the championship will come close again. And i really really hope that williams will hurry up and get their act together so Webber can get some results.

1.Kimi
2.JPM (hopefully)
3.Alonso

i'm eatingnb excuse my bad typing typing onen firnger stupid hot dophg
Congrats 👍

I'm hoping that Alonso gets caught in traffic or something that puts him down the order a bit so the championship can be a bit closer. Williams are still having horrible troubles, they were doing well for a short while but it's going down the drain for them again.

yeh did you see that comment Button made. Something like "I dont think anyone has got a chance except Mclaren here, I think they will walk away with it, but the rest of us should put on a good show."

Thats kinda like admitting defeat.

"I don’t think anyone’s got a chance compared to McLaren here," he said, "from what we’ve seen of testing." It isn’t all bad news for Britain’s main hope, however. "I think that we can still have a good race," he added, of his BAR Honda team. "I think we will probably be a bit closer to the Renaults here and Ferrari will be very good competition and you never know what’s going to happen with Red Bull and Williams. It’s going to be a competitive race, and I’m sure we can put on a very good show, but it’s just what the end result is. Definitely I think that McLaren are going to walk it. I don’t really want to say that, but I think it’s true."

I think (and hope) he's right 👍 ... just as long as there are no reliability issues.

Pedro taking his usual spot at the top of practice.

He is always top. Does he prefer being a test driver than racing for a different team?

Have any other teams approached him?

I would be suprised if they hadn't.

the run the 3rd car harder. higher engine revs lower fuel and the driver is always much more aggressive. hes there for test purposes, he doesnt have a ride for a reason.

Dont you remember in Bahrain? Hes fast, but useless in overtaking. He needs more practice.

Useless in overtaking? What'cha talking about? He was the one who made the race and made great passes!

Or I've been high on something that day.

It was the brilliant Mclaren that saved him. He lost time making foolish overtaking moves, the Mclaren got it back for him. And the mistakes he made were in the same places.
Im not saying hes a bad driver though, just useless at overtaking

Ah, ok then.

Not necessarily true, but you really need a good car to get close enough to overtake, so overtaking skills aren't exhibited as much, but you still need them, especially in the first few laps. ;)

Friday drivers are unlimited in what they run. The team can run and push those cars hard with no concern for reliability or consequences. Friday drivers SHOULD be tops of the charts, by at least a full second....even mid pack cars should be faster.

Short and sweet, my prediction

Kimi
JPM
Alonso
Trulli
Button

It is kind of lucky that Mclaren did so bad last year, becasue now they can use their test cars on fridays which IMO is giving them a huge advantage. Mclaren will win unless they have 2 engine failures which seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened. (Indy)

edit: im just reading Kimis comments and he is still unhappy with the car set up, said he was getting understeer!

You can never be happy with the way the car in handling at Silverstone :indiff:
