I pulled a P2 at the WTC600 with my Porsche 904 and no stopping.

The Kei Car Cup was easy with the S660.

Took my Porsche over to Fuji for the Turbo sports race.

Easy win with a stock Nissan Qqq

Borrowed Jay Leno's Gullwing to run at Goodwood.

Looking for a better car to get P1 at Tokyo...

My weekly rides.
Besides the Nissan Qashquai being a hybrid BC car, it can be cool by making an off road custom, based on Paris Dakar Rally machines.
For the infamous Tokyo WTC 600 race, I used the Honda 2&4 RC213V and won by running without making any pit stop.

Edit: Car photos taken on scapes related to race events regions, such as UK, Japan and Italia, as if I was traveling through the race tracks with my cars.

Gonna try that Honda out soon, really curious. That Jaguar though... 😎

I quit grinding in the damp city and Le Mans at least 18 months ago, but I like Weekly Challenge prizes, so to add some novelty to Tokyo 600, I tried it in a Ford Focus Gr.B engine-swapped Escort Cosworth, no other modifications, 599PP.

The roadgoing Cossie handles racing power quite well, besides a bit of front-wheelspin when exiting the hairpins, and the brakes could be much sharper. The stock gearing lets it top out around 305km/h, and the (assumed 100L) fuel cell that comes with the engine allows for a tyres-only stop.

I finished 3rd (on Normal), but could win if I wasn't so rusty. I don't remember the RX-7 being so much faster than the GT-R and NSX which used to usually lead... the balance must've changed some time ago, and I used to play this one on Easy, usually.

Edit, forgot: Won a DBR9 GT1 from the 6-star ticket!

I had a go at the C63, ran very similar lap times as you and pitted lap 8 (could've gone to 9) yet I was about 15 seconds off winning. Shows how much the AI pace can vary, seems to be related to how much Kokobun gets held up early on and if he races Gallo.

For anyone struggling there's a bunch of cars that'll win it stock, LFA, GT-R, XJ220, F430, Vantage, Corvette C8. Also any of the Gr.B or Gr.3 road cars with some tuning will do it too, tuned Radical SR3L would also be a good option.

I did it with my SLS this time, got a comfortable lead. Kokubun and Gallo weren’t fighting. The GT S and GT R are good picks too imo.

While you guys all seem busy with serious racing, I spent a leisure Sunday with a short trip across the Alps to the Lago Maggiore in my new Takata Dome NSX-ONE. Coincidentally a Kei car race event took place there and hey, I just couldn't resist ...
Had to show the competitors how capable my new machine is, snatched the win and went back home again. Sheer driving pleasure !

I have to say, I have hated the Tokyo 600pp race until I found the LFA.

Bone stock the car has great acceleration, great braking, sips gas, and will do a 1-pit, no tires stop that'll give you the win running 2:11's.

However, I prefer to mod it just slightly with the racing air filter, muffler, exhaust manifold, and brake pads. This results in 2:09/2:10's and a win with a much larger margin...and the sound is glorious.

I race on Normal difficulty because I hate the flip flop of Hard vs Easy, which is a lie half the time.

Well after many numerous attempts and fails with many different cars I finally got P1 here again at Tokyo. I beat it a few times long ago before 1.41 and subsequent physics and PP changes and just never went back to it until the weekly race this week (6☆ Car Ticket) I was compelled to do it again. First legitimate race I done awarded me P2 (legitimate meaning I do not wall ride, never did, never will) and I just had to do better.
The winning car was an almost stock AM DB-11 with SH tyres, just passing that cheat Ameyia RX-7 in the final half of last lap!

One of the tricks to this race is to choose a car that can be driven effectively with SH tires, which then allows you to up the hp and handling if needed. Fitting SM usually results in a power handicap on the long straight, and fitting SS is just about guaranteed failure.

As with many races, the AI is allowed to tune beyond the 600pp cap, as you can clearly see them fitting SS tires, yet if you buy those cars and fit those tires + visible mods you won't be competitive at all. I'd guess the RX-7 and NSX are closer to 650pp, but I haven't actually tested it fully.

Try doing this race again sometime using a stock LFA + racing air filter, racing muffler, racing exhaust manifold, and racing brake pads. Don't force it, be easy on the corners with a lot of coasting and catch up on the big straight at over 200 mph. Even if you drive it easy with 2:11's you'll win.

Do you have any idea what the fastest tuned car would be? As in, which car and tune could be used to win it the easiest? I imagine everyone would want to know that.

Ahhh that race.
Figured that I would do it with one of the cars the AI uses instead of the usual PP play.
NSX 17 with SH was the choice.

Consider me surprised when Gallo, in the same car, took to the pits to change his.. SS tires that I couldn't use because of the PP limit.. Hmmmm

Well then, I noticed that the AUDI was fast and it let me use SS tires.

Secured a second place with 20 secs to number one, AI set the fastest lap with a 1:11:XXX, a cool second faster than the previous NSX race.

It depends what you mean by easiest. For some the easiest win is wall riding on a rocket. If you mean normal racing with a Clean Race Bonus the fastest I can remember (it's been a while) is a tuned Suzuki Escudo.

It's not my wheelhouse though so maybe someone else knows better.

Love the Tokyo 600 race! I used my stock LFA Nur Edition.. easy 1st. The drive is so enjoyable the engine and exhaust sound great, the car handles pretty well and the straight line speed is top! In VR the cockpit and view is wonderful.. my favorite feature is the steering wheel.. it gives the illusion in VR that the top and bottom black part of the steering wheel is not there. You only see the red parts on the side giving it an aircraft type of vibe.

The fastest depends on your personal skillset and which cars feel right. Some detuned race cars, sometimes on comfort tyres (I had no idea the Escudo could be made eligible, wow) are very effective, but I haven't tried many; I can confirm the 60's Le Mans trio can win easily, but that's only good if you've bought them already. Many of the engine-swapped cars have unusually low PP belying their true speed, sometimes it's justified, as in the case of the MX-5 ND V8, which cannot drive straight or turn once it has a long-ratio gearbox, but others like the Cappuccino 13B-REW and Audi TTRS-R8 are phenomenally fast in a straight line and can handle well enough for easy <2:10 laps (IIRC). The cars that I'm most sure about for easy wins with little modification are the XJ220, (VX) Viper GTS '13 with a bit of ballast, or for better stability, AWD supercars like the Murciélago, R8, GT-R and Gallardo. Every time I pick the 2nd gen NSX, I crash, so I can't recommend that one. Good luck, and don't let the other cars touch your bumper or you'll lose that CRB every time.

Challenges complete, and a challenge it was, all completed on hard, with one exception, yes I do mean you Tokyo WTC600…

Sunday Cup Classic: Toyota Sports 800 - SM tyres, sports air filter, semi racing silencer. I love Goodwood. Always brings back memories of many Track Days spent lapping with my Dad, and it’s a great fast and flowing circuit. Took 2 attempts to get first, but honestly I wish it had taken more. Time to build some more custom races, hopefully, Goodwood will get the Sophy upgrade soon. 🤞
Nissan Qashqai Special Event: SS tyres, Weight Reductions 1,2 & 3. The only thing worst than having to buy this PoS was driving it.
Race of Turbo Sports Cars: Nissan Skyline R34 V-spec - RM tyres, full race mods. Built this earlier in the week to prove I didn’t need to spend Cr.3m to complete with friends in their modded Z-tunes. I actually like this car much more than I excpected, and the race was quite fun too.
Lightweight K-Cup: Suzuki Carry - Full race spec, modded to race requirements. Very enjoyable race, the Carry handles superbly once the suspension is dialled in.
World Touring Car 600: Engine swapped Radical SR3 - SS tyres, fully adjustable suspension, gearbox and diff, ballast and power restrictor. Not being a ‘Grinder’ or a ‘100%’ guy, I had never previously attempted this race, I see now why it has the reputation it does. Not being familiar with this track didn’t help either. Took multiple tries with different cars, before I was able to get a 2nd place (on normal difficulty), with a no-stop strat. One day I’ll have another crack, to attempt 1st on hard difficulty, but that day is a loooong way off! 😂

6-Star Car roulette netted a Toyota TS030

Do you mean front bumper? If you get tapped from behind or trade paint on the sides you can still make it with a CRB.

Ugh. So many attempts at the Tokyo WTC600 over the weekend. Must have tried half a dozen or more cars before settling on the Alfa 4C Gr3 Road Car - with the engine swop (plus detune) plus rear wing. Even then only managed 2nd, seven seconds down on the winning RX-7.

Never enjoyed racing on any of the Tokyo circuit layouts, so was struggling on some earlier attempts with what were probably more suitable cars. In the end it felt like i'd been grinding out a Circuit Experience there so at least ended up with a much better appreciation for the circuit. Which i guess is something.

I'm sure i could have won it in hindsight with a lower engine map as i got as far as the end of lap 9 using EM1 - but in the end i was happy just to get the prize ticket. Even if it only gifted me some sort of hideous Peugeot VGT that i'll never use. Decent race payout though which i wasn't expecting.


edit - after a couple of early fruitless attempts i reduced the hardness level down to Normal and then even Easy, just get the event out of the way. But it seemed to make no difference to how the race panned out. The leading cars were still putting in 2.09 laps. Is this a known bug or just a quirk of the circuit/PP level combo?

Forget about the NSX, it wears SS tires and has to pit twice. Your true enemy is the RX-7, which you should be able to defeat with the LFA and the few mods I mentioned above running 2:10/2:11 consistently. I haven't tried it, but by the numbers you should be able to run 2:13's and still win. The brakes are good, but the car has a lot of inertia, so brake early.

If you mean normal racing with a Clean Race Bonus the fastest I can remember (it's been a while) is a tuned Suzuki Escudo.

I refuse to use comfort tires, so that would leave those cars out. I have an issue with Vipers as well, but I could try it. I think the XJ220 is the most intriguing, so I'll try that one, thanks!

I started a new job today so I couldn't sleep. Around 5 this morning I got out of the bed and did the WC. Started in Tokyo with a swapped Escort. Made one stop for the easy win

Next I Used a swapped Beat at Lake Maggiore

Then I did the Turbo Sportcars in the Subaru VGT I won a few weeks back. I haven't found that car to be the most useful but I can't bring myself to sell it because I really like the livery I created for it and to me it looks so good. So I keep it around for Scapes purposes

Next it was the Nissan race. I added some custom parts and a nice wing and painted it black & gold as I figured that would be the most fun I would have with the car and I was right. That was not a good race. It was like I was racing on mute and I was so excited to finish that race because it was so dull.

Finally I pulled out the 205 for a run at Goodwood

I got a 3 star for the daily which gave me 10k cr. I had a 4 star from Friday which gave me 30k cr. I got carbon brakes for a Clio and I got this for the car ticket

So I wanted to win the Tokyo WTC600 on hard difficulty, tried a few more options before going back to my engine swapped radical SR3. Change tyres to sports medium and increased power to 361bhp, still at 1005kg. After gaining some early places. I found myself in 10th, battling with Miyazono and Takida for the first half of the race. Crossing the line for the start of lap seven I noticed I had just under half a tank of fuel remaining, so with some fuel saving, I could make it to the end without stopping. For the next few laps, I switched to fuel map 2 at the end of the home straight, before switching back to FM1 at the hairpin. Kokubun pitted at the end of lap 8, putting me in first and watching my back for the remaining four laps. Turns out I mis-calculated the fuel and had to switch to FM3 for everywhere except the straight until the finish. Reaching the hairpin on the final lap Kokubun was within a second and I was running on vapour. Finished the race with the tank empty and Kokubun pushing me over the line!
Job done. Happy days!!

New Challenges, another round of picks!!

1. Sunday Cup Classic: Nissan Skyline 2000GT ‘70; 399PP Comfort Medium tires

This car only had bigger wheels and the semiracing exhaust, all else stock and was a done deal after first lap. Wonderful cockpit view as an added bonus!

It looks like it might be Millenium Jade. It's an original R34 GTR color. I personally think it is a better color than Midnight Purple.
