Considering that he actually had the presence of mind to make his first post on the proper board, I have high hopes for this one...
;)
Welcome aboard, cooper! See you on the boards.

Heh. Seems only the mods and admin have welcomed this noob so far. :odd:

Anyways welcome to GTP. You'll find that this place can be addictive at times. ;)

woo-hoo!!! welcome the noob!! yes, i'm a noob to these boards but not to forums in general. being a clannie for on-line pc gaming makes it a whole lot easier for me to navigate different boards.
been playing GT since it first came out and for some reason, never bothered to look on-line for a forum til a few nights ago when i was having problems with the Polyphony Digital Cup race. Now no more!!! I've started to run the race with an SVT and loving it. Now I know....there is a heaven!!!!! Thanks guys :D !!

I ran the PD Cup in a brand new SVT 'stang as well. I'd never driven it before, either, and I had a great time in it!

Welcome aboard.

Well, that's an interesting story. If you don't mind me asking, how did you find us, exactly (search engine/search terms, etc.)? Being the webmaster, I'm curious to know. :)

I did a google search for gt3 tips / gran turismo 3 tips with quotations. You guys came up 7th on google. Someone in the forum needed tips for wet pavement racing and so I clicked on it. Then I ran a search on your database for Polyphony race. With all the tips I saw for one race and the other threads about the race, I figured that I might as well register....and here I am!! The hardest part was picking a name :D

Hello Cooper! :).

I had this random person email me asking about my go-kart a few weeks ago, he had logged off just before I asked him how he came across my site.

:odd:

Did you pay for listings in a search engine Jordan?

I didn't check, but I don't think he has a pay-per-click. The homepage has a ranking of 5, on the google toolbar, which is pretty good. That's due to keyword optimization & backwards links. Jordan may have payed to have the site optimized. Even the "Post Reply" page ranks a 2! Nice work!
Cooper! Welcome!

No, I have never paid for any promotion of the site, nor any optimization (I have done that myself).

Welcome to the Boards of all Boards Cooper! You should have no trouble getting through GT with this site by your side. Hope to see you around in all the areas of the site.

Jordan, do you know what happened to the guy that was giving you free advertising at GT3.com? I just went there and the link is gone. Just wondering, since thats how I got started here. :D

Might I ask where you got your experience?
Trial and error! :boggled: GTPlanet is my first and only website, and everything I learned about web design and community building came from here.

Ah, you know, I had forgot about him! I'll have to send him an email and find out if he'd be interested in linking to us again. :)

I've only been diong sites for a few months myself, I'm working for a good friend who knows all this stuff & is teaching me. I think it's funny how all the Webmasters freak out over the "google dance". I just ride them out & see what the results are.

Yep, just focus on whats important, lots of quality content, and your search engine results will take care of themselves. :)

Yes, there are many. Most notably is the long-established GranTurismo.com.

Bah. GranTurismo.com more than likely gets hundreds more hits per day for obvious reasons, but I prefer GTP over GTF. Much more friendly. I've never posted there. Don't feel like having my balls busted.

I forget how I came across the Planet. I remember stumbling across some msn board of yahoo board, I forget which, and ended up registering. I made about 2 posts there before we were transformed into a real website with vB. Those were the days...

How I came here.

I bought Gran Turismo 3. And I didn't know what car to start off with. So I went to faithfull google.com and searched Gran Turismo 3. And somewhere there I found GTPlanet. That's my Story!

I heard that Jordan was the owner of Gran Turismo Forums. Anyways I visit GTP WAY more. For 1 Reason GTF Doesn't allow Hotmail.com accounts meaning I can't join :(. So I'll Stick To GTPlanet All The way.

I forget how I got here. I think I did a search on google and found this place and granturismo.com. Came here first. Glad I did. ;)

I remember back in the days when I had GT2, I was looking for some help. I tried the GameWinners forums, but I hardly ever got a reply to my question. Then I tried GTF but I couldn't sign-up because of that email thing they got going. So, next was GTP. Signed up and got the answer to my question in a couple of minutes. Thus, I decided to stay here. :)
