Hey Guys,
I came across Blackbeans new WRC 2 video on YouTube.

Looks to me as yet another let down visually and it sounds terrible too. As a serious WRC fan it really sickens me to see Milestone/Blackbean releasing this utter crap a year on with little or no improvements to the 1st disaster they released less than 12 months back. Oh and they have disabled us from commenting on it too. Afraid they might not hear what they want to. Well, it seems to me Codemasters learned from the fans and gave us what we wanted in DiRT 3 so why can't the idiots are Blackbean listen and learn from the people who are willing to spend their hard earned money on a title because of their love for a sport?? So pissed right now....

Here's their Facebook page if anyone feels they have something to say to the developers, seeming you don't get to make that choice on YouTube: https://www.facebook.com/wrcthegame?sk=wall&filter=1

👎👎👎 MILESTONE/BLACKBEAN 👎👎👎

Its to early to judge, that trailer is very old and everything I have heard about the game so far is a huge improvement. Check out VVVGamers hands on of it, also Eurogamer had a hands on and both have said it is hugely improved both graphically and in feel for the driver. Wheel support is fixed also and the stage count is apparently up to over 90.

Well, I really hope they sorted out the notes system cause last years release was just unplayable, and I hope to be able to use my Fanatec GT3 RS on my PS3 this time round... Oh and this video is only 2 days old, they uploaded it on August 30th 2011... I've seen the VVV videos, no real improvement from what I saw. Wonder if they'll release it world wide this time round, lots of unhappy WRC fans here in the states but honestly, they were better off, saved themselves $50....

As somebody who purchased Milestone/Blackbean's Superstars of V8 Racing, and then, less than a year later, Superstars of V8 Racing II (Next Challenge), I can tell you this is EXACTLY what Milestone/Blackbean does. So I won't be surprised if this does turn out to be the case, yet again. In fact, I fully expect it.

They are a small publisher/developer without the sort of funding a Codemasters or PD can garner. So a lot of good ideas which they had, simply weren't implemented very well. But both games had serious flaws and bugs that went unpatched because they don't stand by and support their products, and frankly they don't give a damn about their customers. I vowed never to buy a game from them ever again. 👎

I'm with you on that 100% man, its just a crying shame that us WRC fans have to deal with this level of unprofessional-ism in the gaming world in 2011 with a game with such a High Potential of being some what memorable, I mean really, all we have to replace it is the DiRT series, I can't knock DiRT 3 at all, I really enjoyed it. But I'm counting the days til I get my PC tower running again, I need my RSRBR fix, now that's a Memorable Rally Title...

But its already been said by many previewers that it is hugely improved..If you watched VVGamers videos you would have heard that..

I'm sorry, but what I saw looked nothing at all like "Hugely Improved"... have you even read any of the comments on VVV's page? people do not like it... link below for your viewing & reading pleasure, Enjoy!!!

Mm it is interesting for sure. How so many people can review a game without having played it.

Im gonna side with the well known and respected game site on this one;)

I love how the Facebook page is just hundreds and hundreds of complaints

Graphically is clearly an improvement. And if the Eurogamer preview is anything to go by (and probably a better source than epople who have not played it) then the physics are improved. Stage numbers up to over 90 as opposed to what I think was around 40 previously.

To be honest those are 3 pretty major improvments. Again im not saying it will be good and im not saying I will buy it. Im pointing out in response to the OP that is has clearly been improved as he said there are "little or no improvments".

Sad right, The FIA must not have access to this kinda of feedback to the Officially Licensed Product, as bad as Milestone/Blackbean are, I kinda have to blame the decision makers at the FIA for giving MS/BB the licence for the next 5 years.... For those of you who are familiar with Richard Burns Rally and RSRBR, god only knows why the FIA didn't get those guys involved with the WRC title and give us something spectacular, instead of Rally Fans debating on what garbage MS/BB will give us over the next 5 years...

but where has it improved .is it really worth 50 to 60 of your hard earned buck's?

Houdini, WRC The Game was in the bargain bins just four weeks after it release last for 10 quid, which doesn't say much for the title... I really wish, as a die hard WRC fan that MS/BB do well with this title, but previous times, not just with the WRC Franchise, but all their games in general tell a whole different story..

Great point Houdini, so even if they give us a sub par version this year, your out of pocket $120...

I'm pretty sure that when the first game was announced, they promised every stage of the wrc would be replicated in full. I didn't believe it at the time as it seems like an impossible task.

Anyone know what the excuse was for that?

I wonder how many of you really played WRC the game, the first title. It really was not that bad, some comments here I can tell are from people who never played the game more than 1 stage. You have to put some effort in to get the hang of It, and suddenly It is a nice game. Sure, the graphics are not great, and the stages are not the real life 100% counterparts (don't know why exactly, I can only assume It has to do with hardware limitations). But at least they are all 3-5 minutes long, and there are 78 of them. The on line part is very well done, the crowded lobbies proved that. The career mode is very extensive and has some nice features. I know that a lot of WRC fans enjoy the game.

On another note, Superstars V8 Next Challenge was clearly an improvement on the original title, and until this day no other PS3 racing game matches the AI when It comes to competitive racing, and no other PS3 game has tracks like Portimao, Mugello so well done. I am not glorifying their games, but they deserve a little more credit. I will buy WRC-2 and I know I will like It, just like the first title. Sure, RBR is better for the hardcore sim-racer, WRC is aimed at a larger market and I think they did fine and will do better this round.

Well, I had it on PC and PS3 and not sure if we had the same title but as far as I'm concerned as a Hardcore Rally and WRC fan that the WRC The Game title was an embarrassment to the WRC as a sport and to the FIA Official Licence. I personally thought that Stevie Wonder could have written a better Pace-notes system than they did at Milestone, so that there alone for me to play a "Rally" Title with stupid notes is a BIG let down and really ruined the game. Also the fact that my Fanatec wheel not working didn't do the title any favors and Milestone giving Zero after sales support says a lot about how the ship is ran... A sinking ship if you ask me and unfortunately bringing us WRC and Rally fans with it due to our love for the sport...

So if it was such a big disappointment, why did you buy it for two different systems?

I didn't buy it for any if the 2, I was given a PS3 copy by someone who thought it was utter Crap, much like I did a week later and the PC, had it for a week on loan from another disgruntled WRC fan...

Some like it some dont. I thought it was ok, nothing special, didnt lodge RBR from my main rally fix but it certainly isnt as bad as your making out.

Interested also to hear your opinions on the PS2 WRC games?

I wonder if I'll be able to use my Fanatec GT3RS wheel and pedals with the WRC 2 on PS3. has anyone seen anything on wheel support yet?

Looks promising but it's not fun to watch Dirt 2 / 3 replays from gravel where car behavies like it drives on tarmac :/ 👎

The video is footage of WRC 2, not Dirt 2 or 3...

I rather enjoyed the first WRC game. It was nice to start at the grass roots and add fake sponsors to your car.

I also liked the twitch factor to the handling and how the C2 felt so much more skittish compared to the Fiesta for example, but both were fun in their own right.
