WRC 2 - Another Failure on the way from Milestone/Blackbean for us WRC Fans??

I got my PC back working this week and finally got RSRBR11 again. I've been playing DiRT 3 on PS3 for a while and RSRBR make DiRT 3 look like something a drunk developer threw together in about a week. RSRBR11 is SO amazing, any Rally fan who hasn't tried it, I highly recommend putting it on your bucket list, such an experience. It stuns me really that none of today's developers haven't made an effort to revamp that title, the physics are so good and it looks pretty good too. lots of new updates, they have the DS3 and new Fiesta and lots more tracks added. Here's a link to a RSRBR forum I started a while back on GTPlanet:

Any word on a demo yet? Demo came out around this time last year for the original.

PS3 had a demo in Europe for the first game - not sure if the second will too.

As to the OP's 'Hey guys, just found this on YouTube' - there have been two threads about this already; both open for quite a while now. Seriously, if you can't be bothered to use a search function, then I'm not really going to be taking your opinion too seriously.

The game is not perfect, I doubt you'll find anyone who even expects that. I did however enjoy it for what it was and on the evidence of what a few other posters here have said, they have enjoyed it too.

RBR is one game, D2 or 3 is something else as is the WRC game by BB - just accept them for what each of them brings.

Sad right, The FIA must not have access to this kinda of feedback to the Officially Licensed Product, as bad as Milestone/Blackbean are, I kinda have to blame the decision makers at the FIA for giving MS/BB the licence for the next 5 years.... For those of you who are familiar with Richard Burns Rally and RSRBR, god only knows why the FIA didn't get those guys involved with the WRC title and give us something spectacular, instead of Rally Fans debating on what garbage MS/BB will give us over the next 5 years...

5 Years?!?!?! :yuck::scared:

What is wrong with these people?

And why is it so hard to produce a quality game? Theres only a handful of developers that seem to be able to make a decent racing title.

I wish Codemasters had the license. So long as they make long stages they would make a sick WRC game.

I played this at Gamefest last Friday and was very disappointed. I decided to drive a Pug 205 T16 and it felt like I was driving a low powered FWD road car instead of a 4WD Group B monster. The back end was insanely difficult to get out in the corners without spinning it, which was annoying, and the high speed handling felt far too twitchy for my liking. I didn't even complete the stage, I just let the next person play.

Oh, and the car model was very very bad. It looked like an early PS2 game.

Coming from a huge rally fan and hating the direction codemasters took with the dirt series i was extremely excited to see a official licensed WRC game last year.
Official cars ,rallies, drivers and longer stages (than the dirt games anyway) all sold me until i played the demo and was shocked by the graphics and the handling and the most annoying and stupid co-driver that moans and screams as soon as you tap anything.
Now from what i've read the graphics and handling are what they are focusing on for this years WRC2 so although im hopeful im not holding my breath, will make a decision based on the demo if they release one.

Also didn't know milestone had the license for 5 years, hopefully they can get it sorted sooner rather than later otherwise my only hope of real rally on my ps3 is if codies decide to buy the IRC license and go back to making rally games with longer stages.

Milestone/Blackbean have to be the saddest gaming company I've ever come across, I've been posting a simple question on their FB page asking if my Fanatec GT3 RS wheel and Clubsport pedals will work on WRC 2 on PS3 and PC and its just being ignored, much like everything else anyone is asking... So frustrating being a rally fan with incompetence like this producing our games...

yet again, no Fanatec support, man this title has me pissed off so much, thank fcuk for RSRBR...

I love how they're pushing the rewind feature  The whole point of rallying is the thrill of pushing and balancing that with getting it right so you don't crash out!

New gameplay! Looks amazing...

Oh wait that's WRC 4 on the PS2

And it is a much better game than WRC 2010 and WRC2

Graphics look pretty similar, better sounds, narrow stages etc etc

so sad in 2011 that a developer can't even release a game to even be on par with a 2004 PS2 release, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't technology supposed to move forward, not go backwards.... :grumpy::banghead::banghead::grumpy:

I must agree, I played wrc 2010 on the ps3 last night and couldn't get past how last gen the graphics and sound effects where.

Unfortunately I'm not looking forward to wrc 2011 as I don't see black bean making any huge changes to the graphics and overall cheap feel of wrc 2010 in just one year.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Thank God for RSRBR2011, played it for about 4 hrs last night and its so amazing guys, I highly recommend anyone with a PC, a wheel and a love for Rally getting their hands on a copy of it, absolute Rally Nirvana... 👍👍👍

I wish I could play it but my PC is bare minimum and will not run it. A developer sometime ( hopefully soon) will make a good rally game for rally fans rather then for the masses (cough... Dirt cough...).

Mm it is interesting for sure. How so many people can review a game without having played it.

Im gonna side with the well known and respected game site on this one;)

In the end, people need to remember that gaming websites make their money from advertising. If you don't shell the cash, you don't get the glowing reviews. You really thing the guys from inside sim racing would get invited to the events they do if they didn't praise certain games??

Take gamespot for example. They gave Mafia 2 8.5 but GT5 8. Now while GT has its fault, Mafia 2 was almost completely broken. They cut content left right and center to shell out as DLC and expansion packs and the screen tearing along with the massive glitches were horrible. There is only one way anybody would give Mafia 2 8.5 and thats because Take Two were giving our some serious dough.

You get the occasional game where you can't really fault them 'red dead for one' but thats because they'd look stupid otherwise.

Reviews are bull-ahhah!!!

I will give this game a shot. But i don't think it will win me over. First one was so crappy it flew of my HDD so fast the HDD nearly flew with it.

Where are the good old days of rallying.

Even Dirt 3 didn't convinced me, no german or japan rally, no buy.

At least I still have CMR 3 installed on the PC (and Mr. Burns)

Everyone at Milestone/Blackbean should be fired, nothing but a bunch of amateurs if ya ask me...

Agree with all the comments in here. I guess ill be stuck with RBR for a little while more.. which brings me to another subject. Third party/Independent developers inside the RBR community that have been bringing out these add-ons/mods should collaborate and make their own game :D am sure licensing would be costly though... they should all apply for jobs at black bean :D

Guys, if you'd like to experience a great rally game, look no further - GT5!

Ok, maybe not... but check out my Signature for WRC Online Time Trial Series (Similar to WRS but its live).

just got an answer from Blackbean on their Facebook page, Finally. My question was will my Fanatec GT3RS wheel work on both PC & PS3 and will it be released in the States, their answer:

"all main steering wheels are compatible. we're currently working to set a release date for the us."

I hate to say that they said the same this time last year but lets keep the fingers crossed... Still think the game is gonna utter crap though by the looks of it...

just seen a comment on the "WRC The Game" Facebook page and someone has already received a copy of WRC 2.:

"managed to recieve my copy in the post early. It's AWFUL! How could you possibly make G27 support WORSE! even with turning up linearity to max i have to turn my wheel 90 degrees to make a gentle (2-5 degree) turn?!?!?! why do I have to keep turning on FFB every time i start a race? Handling is awful, it's like driving on ice. Sounds are just as "Hollow" as before. This game is a joke, and worse than the first. I want a refund."

Another Comment:

"When you have reached rockbottom (wrc2010) all thoughts was that you could only get better!!! But no no! You idiots releses wrc2011!!! Even worse graphics and sound! And the idiot of co-driver is still in the game! Thank you for listening to us gamers!!"

This is a total f#@$'in disgrace, how can a title be worse than its previous release, I'll tell you why, cause Milestone /Blackbean are an incompetent bunch of wannabe programmers who we the WRC fans are stuck with for the next 3 releases of WRC games. Why on earth the FIA gave this title to them is beyond me and many others by the looks of it. A sad week for WRC fans all over the world which in fact is just total De Ja Vu from 12 months ago....
