This is gonna be fun! I just wish real Wales Rally was in the game...

Crashed out on my first stage returning 😭
But thanks for organising and having me, I'm looking forward to the next one

I've survived the first 4 stages without any practice. Just about bringing the Cossie home now.
I wish I was this fast without practice. Ran a small pre-event test but no where near your pace so far.

Liking Chile so far though, just wish I could get my Escort to be a little more oversteer prone...

I'm finding the Escort a bit frustrating too, To get it around any turn tighter than a 2 you have to go down to 1st gear to get it to break traction and be able to powerslide through. If not the car just seems to bog down too much.

Try shifting the brake balance more to the rear, find it really helps on understeer prone cars.

Yeah, either that or be massively reliant on the handbrake to initiate any slide which feels somewhat sluggish on this rally. Managed to just completely whack a hidden tree stump anyway so I suspect any chances of keeping up are now well and truly gone

Might be worth a go but I don't think I'll risk changing anything for the final 6 stages I need to complete the season. It's almost certainly down to the transmission and drivetrain more than the chassis. More specifically that 7spd Gearbox I've complained about all season.

I don't do a lot of tuning, but I usually at least tune rotation for braking/corner entry with brake balance, and rotation on corner exit/power with diff settings. Depends on your driving style and stage/surface how much you want for either. It takes a few tries but I think it's really worth it to get a car that's dialed in.

I had a lot of fun on the Spanish stages because I finally got the car in a sweet spot... well almost, I did lose the rear on one corner.

There's some cars I automatically make changes to. Rear braking and diff with the Rally 1s and if in a FWD on tarmac brake balance and brake % otherwise they seem squirrely under braking. I may be able to make the Escort rotate better just by increasing the diffs to get more wheelspin and less slip but like I said my aim is just to reach the finish at this point. I have 6 stages left so doesn't make sense in changing things now. Worth bearing in mind for the future though.

I'm so glad I kept it on the straight and narrow for this one, the Gallant really seemed to come alive here... wet/muddy conditions, handbrake being fully abused, that's probably the most fun I've had in the game so far:

A lot of screw-ups both in-game and out on my part (5 DNF's!), hopefully those will be dialled out and I can muster a proper challenge for the next one. 😅

@MagpieRacer I'm assuming there will be a poll for the next year group/class?

Glad you've enjoyed the series! The Galant does love the wintry conditions that's for sure.

So there will be a break, couple weeks or so. The years I plan on recreating have already been decided, based on what I believe to be some of the best/most memorable campaigns. But also, they have to be achievable in terms of rallies available and cars. For example, I wanted to do 1998, enjoyable season, close finish, great cars etc. But we only have the Subaru Impreza S4 and the Seat Cordoba, so it wouldn't work.

The teaser for the next season, there are 5 cars to choose from, and will feature 14 events.

You were too fast here for me so I just took it easy and brought it home. I made a mistake with switching to Super Softs for the middle 4 stages so that was horrible. Other than that it was uneventful and a bit slow. I forced myself to push in the last stage to at least get a bit of pride back after getting soundly trounced all rally.

Got to the end 🎉

Had a tough end to the rally with a puncture early on in SS7 (the 16km stage) which pretty much ended any hopes of being even on the podium. Pushed particularly hard in the stages that followed but @Dreadmed's pace was insane. Although I do love how tight the results were for SS6...0.107 of a second between the top three 😲

A couple of photos from the final round, my Escort looked like it'd had an accident (because it had) for pretty much the entirety of the rally

I've loved doing this championship, when the single-player has been virtually unusable this has kept me going. A superb league and full credit to @MagpieRacer for this great idea. I eagerly await, the final results, but also the next season!

Cool, I stumbled on this forum to find reports and conversations about a wrc club. How cool is that!! I enjoy the clubs the most in the game. To me it comes closest to the real rally experience. Count me in for the next seasons! I'm not the fastest, my strength is usually my regularity. Although in this club I have had too many crashes. Looking forward to competing and talking about it here, 👍

Welcome to the club.

Chile done, while I like this location it's been a while since I've driven these Group A cars which showed a bit. Also the radiators really seemed especially easy to break here as looking at a tree the wrong way seemed to break them. It's feen a fun season and if there's another I vote for either 1986 or 2001, either way I want Rally Kenya on the schedule.

Sadly I wound up taking a hiatus from the championship - things in the real world took over. But I wanted to say, thank you so much for this and it’s been the reason I picked the game up anywhere near as often as I had. Can’t wait for the next one :)

Thank you 😊 . It's been fun running it for everyone and it's been really warming to see the positivity towards the series as well.

It's done! We're there! The 1995 WRC season has concluded, and the Network Q RAC Rally provided a spectacular finish to a brilliant campaign. The tough, cold and wet roads of Britain caught many drives out, the longest rally of the year providing plenty of rolls and drama for some of the fastest drivers in the series. But through all of the drama, it's @space_wadet who came through to take victory in their Subaru Impreza, beating the rapid Mitsubishi of @Dreadmed by 26 seconds. @RYAN took a solid P3, well off the pace but comfortably ahead of 4th.

That 3rd place finish for @RYAN is enough to secure the 1995 title! A phenomenal performance across the season at the wheel of his Ford Escort, a model of consistency through all the events, only failing to reach the podium twice. JabierFailure pulls through to P2, after a phenomenal fight with @Speedster502 and @Hasnain282 . @space_wadet takes 5th after an incredible 2nd half of the season, taking 3 wins on the bounce.

Final write up for the real 1995 season to come as well as announcing the timescale and season for the next season.

A massive thank you to all of you for taking part in this, it's been a joy to run and a real joy to see everyone enjoying the series and the concept. So thank you everyone, it makes me excited to carry on the modern classics club and give everyone a fun and challenging series to run.

Thanks @MagpieRacer for running the championship! And to everyone for taking part. The level near at the top is really high, it's a great challenge. Especially this last rally, it was quite the challenge to stay ahead of @Dreadmed, a lot of close calls for me . Can't wait for the next one, as I have an idea of what year it'll be based on the clues. Car selection won't be easy. :D

Congrats to @RYAN for winning the championship! Hopefully I can find a bit more consistency next time round.

Thank you guys 🍻 Great competition all the way through the season. These two clubs run by @MagpieRacer are by far my favourite thing to do in the game. A big thanks to him for all his effort in setting up the club and the great writeups and summaries of the events. Thankyou to everyone who took part helping make the club as Fun, Competitive and Healthy as it has become. 👍

Question: Do you accept Part-time drivers for next season ? I would like to enter a round or 2 :sly:

And yes, shame on me for not entering this season, because I clearly missed something special :ouch:
