Nintendo Switch announcement trailer.

If you don’t recognize the words in the video, they’re from a traditional American Gospel song, “God’s Gonna Cut You Down”. First recorded in 1937, the most famous version is probably the recording made by Johnny Cash shortly before his death in 2003. THQ Nordic have used the Johnny Cash version in previous trailers for Wreckfest.

New update, new tournament, new car and paints.

New paints for the School Bus and the Doom Rig at 5k a piece.

The new car is the Hotbomb, a chopped and streamlined version of the Hotshot and certainly wouldn’t look out of place at SEMA or the Bonneville Salt Flats. :P

It’s price tag is an eye watering 500K Fame which is actually HALF of its original price tag before they altered it. :scared:

I understand some players were asking for more pricy options due to sitting on a small fortune of fame (I was on 2.8 million before buying it so..).

Maybe not 1 million kinda expensive

Fully tuned and stripped out(Including the front plow and rear diffuser.) it weighs in with a 353 PI rating, which is 11 more than the Hotshot with the Bundle exclusive engine upgraded. 👍

And lastly, the Monthly event will seem familiar to those who got started when the Tournaments first started, the Doom Rig on the TriBend Speedway wrecking as many cars as possible.

Last time I checked, I've only got about 250K. Gave up doing the daily challenges a long time ago. Kind of figured that if the tournament cars were going to cost 100K each time. I'd be pretty safe if I kept my fame points around the 200-300K mark. Damnit. :ouch:

Same here... Can't remember what I'm at but I think it's around 180k or something.

I don't feel terribly inspired to turn it on to do the daily stuff anymore, not that I ever really did I guess. Even though the AI in Wreckfest is some of the best out there, it's still not a big draw for me, and I've never really been a fan of the single player demo derby challenge things.

Hopefully they bring back some of the older weekly/monthly challenges though... The one with the taxis was my favorite I think.

I still enjoy the game in C class multiplayer lobbies, but between being busy playing other stuff (that naturally also have daily challenges) and the fact that several of my friends have stopped playing it, I haven't been returning to this too much lately.

I lost all of mine on one profile and all but about 20K or so (can't really remember but it was a pitiful amount compared to the nearly 1 million I had) when I upgraded to the PS5 version I've only just got back to 300k on my main one so I still need 200k .

Who in their right mind would ask for higher prices just because they've got plenty of fame. Here's an idea, I can afford to pay $1000 for a carton of beer so I think everyone should pay that price... said no one ever

They can jog on.

I got Wreckfest in the summer, and I was going to have acquired enough fame to get the last of the cars/paint schemes tomorrow.

Not now. It'll take 2 months to get enough fame for the Hotbomb, and it sounds like it's not worth the effort. Just jacking the price up on a standard bundle so that some long term players can get rid of some currency is pointless.

Also, only 4k for golding the season event? Really? Edit: now fixed to the regular 20k.

I'm not sure more expensive content is a good idea. Just more content would be nice. I loved the bundles they released for the Nexus RX (mainly because it corrected the ride height), the Bulldog and the Firefly. I'd love more stuff like that, where they add new customisation options for some of the vanilla cars.

Sold myself a little short. Actually had 312k. Though, my inability to gold any of the weekly challenges and some of the derby challenges, means I've only just crossed the 500k mark. Holding off on buying the Hotbomb until the next tournament update drops. I'm fearful of another expensive car.

I've been a bit slack so I'm still short about 50K and one profile and 300k on the other. I wasn't worried about the big loss of fame when I upgraded to the Ps5 version but I'm a bit pissed off now. I feel for all the new players wanting that car, especially when they keep dropping the fame down to 2k for the challenges.

Oh yeah, it must be a pain for the new players and the ones who only jump in semi regularly. Hopefully they don't remove anything from the tournament store. It would suck if they suddenly started doing that.

New update today and the new tournament pays tribute to one of BugBear Entertainment’s titles from the early 2000’s with Rally Trophy, celebrating its 20th anniversary. 👍

2 Bundles for the Boomer RS and the Gremlin only costing 30K all together.

The Boomer RS gets Rally Foglights and a new livery.

The Gremlin however gets, new bumpers, new exhaust, a slightly upgraded version of its Sport 2.3 V6, new and wider slick tyres, new front fender, new grille, new fender flares and a new livery.

New track with only one layout, Rally Trophy with the Special Stage layout but it’s a big one at 7.44 miles of 100% Gravel Rallying.

Fastest time in the Monthly event at the moment is a 5:41.8 with the Bronze time currently at just under 7 mins, so it’s definitely one for those with a hardcore rally itch for this month. :P

Edit: Just did the 60 laps v Lawn Mowers trick for Rally Trophy and it just payed out 50k in cash and I believe almost 250k XP for it.:bowdown:

Looks like a really good update!

Only thing I would say is that giving Boomer RS another tournament bundle instead of the regular Boomer seems like a missed opportunity. The former has already received a bundle and now you have to choose between the two livery options.

Had the chance to check out the update for bit this morning. Glad they haven't included a new car. I've got 3k left now after buying this and last month's stuff. The rally challenge is a nice change of pace, not sure I'll be able to crack gold on it (currently around 15 seconds off) but definitely going to be playing it a lot more than I have with the last few monthly challenges.

Since the Rally Trophy circuit is now the longest track in the game, it has also become the best track for farming credits using the 60 laps/take out all lawnmowers method. You can earn 50k per event in less than 5 minutes!

Raced on Rally Trophy yesterday, not bringing the track's visuals to modern standards is lazy in my opinion. Hope they move on to Unreal for the next game.

Wow, a Rally Trophy throwback?! That OG title was the first Bugbear game I played.

Maybe I should re-purchase this game on PC and try everything it has to offer, because my PS4 has been unplugged for months, I haven't touched any DLC, and I know this game is superior on a genuine PC.

Took a bunch of attempts at the Rally Trophy challenge today and while I only managed to actually finish the lap three times in total. (), I got my time down to a 5:57.6. Super pleased to get it under the six minute mark. Not sure where that puts me as the leaderboard hasn't updated yet but I assume it'll be at least good enough for silver, by the time the challenge ends.

Looking forward to running a couple of races on the track against the AI tonight. Should be chaotic.

I finally got a chance to play this last night. That’s a whole lot of new track to learn. I still haven’t set a bronze level time, but I’m getting close.

The rally stage is superb, these developers should release a new rally only game with these physics, havent had so much fun on a rally stage in a very long time.
A properly physics-based and intuitive experience like Wreckfest is still rare among rally sims, for some inexplicable reason.

Managed a bronze on the Rally Trophy with the first complete lap, but there's a silver in it if I can keep it on the road.

But the best thing about the November update is the new Boomer RS bundle, as the roundel and tidied paint helps with the Alan Mann Racing Escort livery:

Still can't get the gold paint right though.

Edit: 5:44.6!

It took me about 45 minutes of restarts before I finally got a good lap in on the Rally Stage today. I had a 7:21 best with 7:06 needed for a bronze. I managed a 6:19 which puts me solidly in the middle of the silver medal times. 6:07 is needed for a gold which I think I can get. Despite putting in about 90 minutes of work overall in trying to set times in this challenge, this is still only the second complete lap I’ve made.

That's the biggest issue with this challenge, imo. I've only been able to get four or five complete laps in all of my attempts. Still, I would really like to see more rally style challenges like this one. Best fun I've had with the tournament in a long while.

I managed to get a low 6 min and get the gold after many attempts. My problem is that I keep using the mini map to try and judge the upcoming corner severity, because it all looks so similar. To progress I need to to turn it off and learn the stage inside out like other rally games, but tbh I think I've done enough I'm happy just to get the gold :)

And having not played for a while I forgot just how great and fun this game is.
