It is a really difficult event. It's too hard to find car with high speed, acceleration and fuel for 2 laps.
I tried McLaren P1 for 3600000
Porsche 919 living legend
Lambo VGT v12

Other cars were too bad.

Lambo is the best. It's the only car for me to win without cutting.
Porsche has not enough acceleration, and I won only with big cutting.
McLaren P1 is not fast enough, and I have got only second place.

I recommend 2 pit-stops. McLaren lets to do one pit stop, but it doesn't help to win. Lambo with 2 pit-stops much better.

The Viper Gr3 can give you 2 laps if you make fuel mix 3 early, and slapping Racing Soft tyres on it still keeps it less than PP800.
Having said that I have not won it yet as only tried it a few times with this car and gave up each time after being shunted off the track...... but the car shows promise!
Good luck!

If you were able to pick it up, the Sauber C9 detuned to 800 works fantastic. because of it being detuned, it get great gas mileage. the only thing that isn't great is acceleration, but its on par with the other cars. it easily out performs the other cars in all other areas though.

Ive been running the older mercedes coupe the sls or gt whstever it is im jot at my console currently haah.. 800hp 2 pit stops but its way faster than anything else on the track the aero is a bit weak though compared to race cars of course

Setup here (N.B. you must copy every part and setting)

You can use the hybrid power all race long, I have it on R1, and use my first finger on that and second finger on the trigger.

Sauber C9 if you have it. Max ballast and reduce the engine until you hit 800pp. Easy win.

Chaparral 2J is your best choice because it's a car you get for free (just get gold on the events on the last mission menu).

Add max Ballast, use Racing Hard tyres and take off power until you get 800pp.

It ends up with about 490hp and about 900+kg, which is a better power to weight than any Gr.3 car you face, plus the car has very low drag, which gives it insane top speeds and thanks to the fan technology, it grips so much on the corners, especially low-speed corners, it just cruises past any other car.

I did with with that f1500t. At 799.99 it is fast balanced and has great full economy. Some wtc800 races i did with fuel on lean(6) and didnt pit with race hard on it.

The Gr. 2 cars are a good choice as well. I’m partial to the '16 GT-R. Doesn‘t need to change tyres on RH yet still easily outperforms everything else on track in the corners. You can also go for a 3+2 lap strategy easily.

I had just bought the Lambo to try for the new Le Mans WTC 700 race, which it's amazing for. This thread got bumped, so I saw you mention it for this race, and gave it a try. I did 19:32 with one stop, vs the 19:51 I posted above with the no stop Tomahawk S, so I agree with you that the Lambo VGT is an excellent car for this race.

I cannot find these new events.

From the home screen > World Circuits
at the bottom of the screen there is

WTC 600
WTC 700
World GT Series Championship

I already had silver in WTC 600 and WTC 700 on patch 1.09. I was waiting to gold both of those before running the final championship. There is not WTC 800. No new championships were added in 1.11 unless they are somewhere else.

If I open the le mans track, there are no events available. I don't think the WTC races I have are the same because none of them have the races mentioned in the patch notes. The final championship race 3 is on le mans. None of the 3 championships have Tokyo East, nor Sardegna at all.

Am I looking in the wrong place, or ... did I get patchrobbed?

I have used a Lexus SC430 (2008 gr.2 Lexus car) on hard tires, and while it's not the fastest car around on the straights, it allows you to not pit for the whole race and you win just because of this reason, especially since the Viper, the fastest in a straight line, will pit at lap 2 and 4, win was pretty easy.

More races open up after you beat the final championship. A lot more.

Those are all gas hogs, that's why you're having problems with it. I just ran the Porsche 917 LL and immediately found it had way too much horsepower 1/4 into the first lap. So bought the full-custom computer and dropped the power down into to 650's (just dropped it as far as it would go) Set the transmission final gearing for a top speed around 325km/hr. Using the leanest fuel setting I had to pit after lap 2 and lap 4, but managed a 30sec victory since I could run the fuel mapping at 3-4 for the final lap.

The gr. 2 cars would be a good way to get the feel of this race and the 15 lap at Sardegna as they can win these events with ease. Low weight and fairly low power are much better for endurance than going full-bore in a high hp vehicle.

@Brego They aren't championships. Go to Europe > Sarthe for the race being discussed here. Also one at Europe > Sardegna Road and one at Asia > Tokyo

Edit, never mind. You need to finish the cafe mode to unlock these races... Should have read your last paragraph first, lol

The “legend” Calsonic Nissan, detuned with ballast & RH tyres, FM6 & did it without stopping.

Did you jack up the EV settings?

Looks like brightness is a bit too high.

NISMO 500 GT was the car I used to beat it. Also the Gran Turismo F1 tuned down to 800 will mince the AI drivers by lowering fuel setting and getting more laps with no need to change tires

It's just a jpg straight from the camera from pointing it at the screen and taking a photo, so it has the camera's automatic adjustments.

It looks like it was from the game itself due to no glare from the LCD.

I use the screengrab function of the PS5 and which syncs to the PS App, I then save it to my phone then I use Dropbox to sync across so I get high detail images.
Convoluted yes.
