I'll meet up for a online test this weekend, depending on the time, if everyone is willing, it will give us a good idea of which cars are competitive as then we can recommend to new drivers even if it means we have to go over 2 cars a team......#hint# Si_berian_tiger, pick the Atenza ;) lol.

Which Atenza? the race car/touring car is banned.
or are you talking about IS 200 98'?
 
No, I'm using the road car Atenza aka the Mazda 6 but tuned.
 
Neither lol, if you go onto the Mazda dealership, its nearish the start of the list under the name Atenza Sport.

A quick test session at GVE last night revealed that the rules for the road cars makes them very close. 0.6s separated the 135i, Focus, Integra, Atenza and Civic. The 147 is too slow (1.9s) off. The 320tc is about 2 seconds off around here though.

Johnboy and I also tried Monza, where the road cars are still very close. The 320tc is still over 1s off the pace round here.

Somebody, how long will races be on average? This may have a bearing on my car choice as I'm a DS3 user. Will there be mandatory pit stops?

DS3?

Sprint race (race 1): 5 laps for a circuit like monza
Feature race (race 2): 10 laps for a circuit like monza

all races will be recorded by yours truly with my Hauppage HDPVR.

Incidentally, all my testing has been carried using with a minimum weight of 1170kg, because I thought this was the minimum weight for 266hp+ cars. I see it's actually 1155kg! Oops....

Let me get this right our trans has to be set to 270 but what is it in mph?

I was actually think of changing weight of all cars (except for 320 TC) to 1140 or 1170.
 
Si, I've sent you a message on ps3 but I see your online so I might as well ask you now lol......I'm also running an Atenza but my fastest for GVE is 1.08 and Monza is high 2.01s so what specs are you running on yours if those are the times set by the slowest car as I don't know if I can improve by a full second or so to match your Atenza e.t.c. :/

About 167mph.

Matt - The Atenza ran a 1.08.3 at GVE. I was quickest in the 135i, with a 1.08.0. I can't remember the time at Monza, but I know it was similarly close.

I can't remember the specs I used, I will look later and get back to you with them. I seem to recall being faster with the low rpm turbo and removing some other tuning parts compared to using an NA tune.
 
Done 10'laps at GVE and can only get 1.09.7 at best

Oh ok thanks, just wondering as although I would still race if I am slower it will be better if the whole field can be competitive.
By the way, were these times set on the racing mediums?
