x and square not working PLEASE HELP

my x button doesnt accelerate anymore,even though its configured to do so as the default control, under the options menu. And using the right joy stick sucks, but is the only way to gas and brake. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME?

Configure the trigger buttons (R1,R2-L1,L2) for throttle and brake. I use the right stick for changing gear, try it out it's quite easy to get used to.

That sounds great, just what i was trying to do but nomatter what i do x and Sqare dont work. which is odd because my h.u.d.s throttle indicator light shows just tiny movement when i press x or sqare. Thanks fr the help
