X1 challenge with controller

I got bronze on the first 2 easy but suzuka is almost impossible.
What settings did you use if you got bronze on it?

any tips how to get it?
 
I spent 30 minutes doing the Nurburgring track this morning and finally rage quit. I was about 5 or 6 seconds off of bronze and I have no clue where to find that time.
 
Well if i thought the Top Gear challenge was rage inducing this should be fun.
Id love to know if its Vettel's real time using the X1 you have to beat. Does anyone know if it is?
 
I couldnt do it with the controller as well ...
I was so mad that i spent 900R$ (524 U$) on my G27, just to realize that my wife is probably going to kill me now, so i still wont be able to do the challenge :scared:

J/k ... I wont say its impossible with the Dualshock, but if theres any chanve you can get a wheel ... do it ... Game Level changes completely (at least for me)

Im using the X1 for B-Spec 35 now, was a lot easier lol
 
I got bronze on Monza with a controller. Now gotta work on the suzuka and the first race. To be honest I don't think I can do suzuka :grumpy:
 
I did it (whole challenge) on DS3 if someone wants i can send him a replay. Setting were abs = 1, tcs off, skid control on and active steering (i think thats the name) on mid. Those were on nurburgring and suzuka.

No golds or silvers im affraid. Way too hard on pad to do i think. I will sent ya links to replays when i finish endurance (15-20 minutes)

His time for all tracks is only around silver, so bronze your not beating it but gold you beat it by a fair bit.

You don't have to pass the ghost as he leaves well before you However when you get gold on Nurb GP and Suzuka you come real close to passing his ghost anyway. When I was golding Nurb GP (G25 sorry) by the second lap his ghost was getting so close it was hard to see the next corner properly which was a pain, when you start his ghost is a fair bit a ahead and not a problem.

Can I get the replays as well? I'm still a good 15 seconds off bronze on monza, and I have NO idea how to take that last chicane!

yeah i was thinking that PD should put in a controller time also :p

gonna be impossible getting gold for sure
 
I extracted the files onto a usb drive, but the saved game utility keeps telling me there is no saved data. ARGH

Ok I've been reading this forum since I baught GT5. I had to register to say thank you.
I followed your advices and finaly got that damn bronze on suzuka, and the x1 that came along with it =) .
I didn't believe it was possible to do it with active steering on. For some reason it seemed like I had even less control over the trajectory than without aids. Anyway it worked and thank you.


I think the porblem with this challenge lies in the way the controller works. I've been using ps3 controllers to play rfactor on my pc for ages. In rfactor the controller acts as a real wheel, like the simulation mode in gt. What you do with the controller is what happen on the steeering wheel. I find it strange that this can't be done in gt5, you get the aid whether you want it or not.
Sure it takes a little bit of practice but once you get used to it you can pretty much do anything.

In gt5 using a controller is more like finding the line that PD wants you to use rather than finding your own line
. So if can give an advice myself. try to find the line that they want you tu use rather than trying to find your own line.

This challenge definitely made me want to buy a wheel though.
Sorry I can't give any replay for suzuka. I was so excited when i bronzed it that i quit immediately to go to my garage and forgot to record the replay... 🤬

About line sure you gotta find something like "PD line". Well thats pretty much perfect line (nope my line aint perfect, i would gold then ;p).
But attepting it numerous of time i found myself 3 critical spots i could loose quite a lot or get time instead. For me it was that long turn after double "S" in which u gotta enter in max speed on 4tg gear. Second was turn right before long 'straight' which has 2nd time check on it. Unfortunately this one i was repedately screwing ;p Last one was last S. I had already attempts where i almost had bronze but i breaked a lil bit too soon. Cos of that i had to yet get to that corner with slower speed instead of entering it right after breaking cos i would get disqualified. Hope something from it is understood, sorry for my english

I got Silver in Monza - just 0.500 behind gold, but at Nurburgring and Suzuka i got bronze just - i think about 0.100 i was faster than bronze time
