X1 makes every other car feel rubbish

I found out very quickly that the X1 is so far ahead of every car in performance, that I needed to make a race with nothing but X1's. Fired up course creator and made a roughly 7 mile circuit for X1 battles. It's like watching an F1 race on fast forward! It was fun, but the car still just feels like a novelty.

I don't drive the X1 simply because of posts like the OP. The last thing I want is for the other 1000 cars to feel bad because I got used to racing a fighter jet with wheels.

The couple times I actually did drive it, I got the sense that the lateral g's the thing pulls would pretty much decapitate a carbon-based driver. Honestly, driving this car IRL would require a HANS system that is specially designed to hold your head in place laterally and probably a flight suit to keep blood circulating. It's a novelty that doesn't fit in with the rest of the game.

So yeah, Bob drives my X1. Which would actually be my forum handle if I didn't already have this one lol.

Yup, it's kinda ironic. I fly out of the X2010 quite a lot. But, with every other car, I do it to the itside. With the X2010... To the inside.

"Okay, I'm apporaching this corner at 220mph, careful there... Dang, should've taken it at full throttle!"

As far as fun goes, definitely 👍

Yea\ I know, the x1 makes you feel like a terrible driver. ...Damn I went half throttle for 5 milliseconds when I didnt need to, LAP IS RUINED FOOL :banghead:

My X2010 has 800 odd miles on it, how many of those were driven by me? 0.0. I have no desire to drive that thing, makes b-spec easier though and the bobs seem to like it.

X1 makes every other car feel rubbish, really? I think the addition of the X1 makes GT istelf more rubbish, I mean, all you need are some guns & missile launchers on it & you're practically playing Wipeout!

;)

Can't wait to get my first X1 so I can finally know what eveeryone is talking about...:sly:

thanks for the input guys :)

I went back to my trusty Toyota GT-one, not sure if it needs a chassis rebuild but I couldn't drive it :(

DAM YOU X1

When you drive the X1 with the fact that it's fake, and a novelty car, it becomes fun.

When you drive the X1 with the fact that you have to beat a lap time set by another X1. It can either be really fun, or really infuriating.

I wish people would give the car it's real name. It's called the X2010 now, not X1. Do you still call Taiwan by it's old name of Formosa? Do you call Iran, Persia?

Good point. I drive the X2010 a lot and i had NO problem going back to either my C60 Hybride or my Miata:sly:

Other cars do feel slow when changing back from the X2010, but it only takes me a few minutes to get used to driving them again. I find using a slightly slower car then a normal one helps a lot. Try this X2010>Ferrari F1/FGT> Any other car.

I don't really like the X1 for anything other than lap records, though I've still got to do Suzuka before I can get the Carbon edition.

And I don't really have too much problems driving normal cars afterwards, although I spend 5 minutes recalibrating my brain:crazy:

Btw: I destest that it's renamed the X2010:grumpy: It will always be the X1 to me. If PD/RB release a new version, it will be my RBX2:D

After driving other cars i jump into the X1 to find it is almost undrivable, way too sensitive, but then after time i get used to it, along with how precise you have to be and the feeling of speed it becomes natural. But by doing so i am training myself into habbits that would cause me to crash in other cars, so naturally when i move back to slower cars that drive different it feels weird.

But i much prefer the pace of other cars, i can enjoy them more. The X1 gives me a headache after a while, its just too much concentration needed.

About the X1 being renamed, i'm sorry but the name has stuck, you dont use a name for months only for it to be changed and then just use the new one. If you want to call it the X2010 thats cool, but the original name was the X1, and thats that.

Like I said above, countries and cities have been named something for YEARS and then changed it. There is no such Red Bull car as the X1 just as there is no country called Persia.

PRUSSIA ROCKS, but Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is better...

anywho,

I think the X1 is garbage, i mean its a polyFony car, why didn't they just go with the gas trubine engine. I can't stand the sound of this car, i think its more irritating than the imev thing.

I get what the OP is trying to say but I personally never liked the X1, its Fony but tries to be real??? Why doesn't it just fly? Doens't sony own wipeout, why can't we have Wipeouts in GT, they're real...in the year 3010.

X1 ruins a big part of the game.

Yet everybody calls it the X1, so it does exist. The F-duct on last years Mclaren car, was not called the F-duct, but everybody called it the F-duct and thus the name stuck, you can give it a different name but everybody will still call it the F-duct.

Comparing cars to countries is silly.

Persia sounds more badass than Iran. Iran should revert its name back to the Persian Empire.

And saying X2010 is a jumble compared to saying X1.

X2010 sounds more like a sex jelly.

Lol whats up your rear end? The name is simply to make a refrence to what is called the X1 or X2010, it doesn't matter which name is used as there is no confusion as to what people are reffering to.

Besides X1 is a easier and better name than X2010.

If they decided to change the name on an daily basis would you still happily change what name you reffer to it by? I bet even you would give up.

I LOVE driving the X2010, except for a few reasons:

First of all, when driving at extremely high speeds (around 450kph), my steering wheel (the force feedback) drives me crazy! It rocks back and forth from left to right, and when this goes on for long periods of time, my hand gets cramps, as does the rest of my arm.

Secondly, it's just too fast! I get motion sick within 30 minutes of driving this. Once finished, I get out of my seat, and feel a little drunk (except for the laughter. and the throwing up. and the hangover :S ).

So, does the X2010 make every other cal feel like rubbish?

Not really. Just as a reminder, this car. does not. exist.

I actually appreciate the handling and power of real world cars even more after driving the X2010.

I hope they will make this in the near future though (not going to happen :p ).

Does everyone know what I mean if I say X1 in relation to GT5? The BMW isn't in GT5 so it isn't that and there are no drivable planes in GT5 so it has to be the car formerly known as the X1.

See, problem solved!

the x1 is a joke IMO...it's just a cheap piece of plastic...that's not what driving is about.

So I have been using the X1 alot since I hit level 30

Now every other car just feels so slow, even some of my LMP/ group C cars feel like they have no downforce and are really slow. I know performance isn't everything but every other car feels undrivable

Looks like I'm going to be steering clear of the X1 for awhile (sorry for pun) until I have gotten used to the other cars again
Do not worry about it, it is what happens when some **** puts a fantasy/arcade car in a driving simulator game.

Yeah, sure, I got that :)
It was just another example. I can go from the X2010 to, dunno, a Suzuki Cappuccino and I feel fine... I actually have more trouble getting my head around the X2010, no matter how long I've been driving it for.
It feels so... Cartoonish.

Cartoonish is a good way to term it, just does not feel like driving to me, but it is a very handy grind car. :)

I've hardly touched my X1's ever since i silvered the challenge.

Did a Vettel challenge on my 2nd account yesterday, then decided to do a F1 seasonal events. F1 feels slow after X1... that's just not right.
Only 1 part i love about that car - it looks awesome, at least in my opinion. That's why i have at least 10 X1s (in different colors of course). But other than looks... This car shouldn't have been in GT5.

I love the X2010. It is an exercise in speed that when performed properly, exceeds what we know about speed, driving and automotive artistry. It's not meant to be compared with race cars or super cars. That is not its challenge. Its challenge is you. And only you can prevent forest fires.
