XB1 backwards compatibility

So what I don't understand....If I install Forza 4 as an example on my XB1 but it doesn't come with all the DLC on the disc, can i download the DLC from Xbox Live via my XB1?

I'd imagine this would also mean the DLC can be downloaded separately and isn't required to be on disc or there would be few games able to use this functionality.

Thanks CamaroBoy. I'm getting a desire to hook up my 360 and play Forza 4 et al. Lots of cars which have not been transferred to fh2 and fm5 and i'm guessing fm6 will also be missing a lot of them....

That is also correct since F4 had almost 700 cars and F6 only has around 450. So yes there will still be a lot of cars missing. F4 is currently still one of my favorite games of the series. F6 is looking very good with weather and night racing. So it has a lot of potential.
I am expecting F7 will have very close to 700-750 cars. Since T10 seems to produce about 200 Forza vista "premium" cars every 2 years.
