Hey Xenn, you can also use this page for the car codes: http://web.archive.org/web/20050211054940/http://www.rogs.dial.pipex.com/carsb.htm. There is no need to reverse the digits :sly: Also, do you have some sort of code that you can change what your car looks like, like a body modifier? I want to see if I can have a Trophy body but with Escudo specs. Kinda like hybriding, but on-the-go style.

I'm not sure if I can get the correct value for 1.2, but i'll post the PAL version and see if that works for you.

I tried the bounce code. LOL it was so hillarious.

This is what happens when I randomly find something and turn it into a code, lol.

Then I'll be waiting for that code. I'm not that much of a hybrid-er myself :ouch:

Track values for PAL/NTSC-U

Here's the code, just in case (1.2):

D002F4F7 0080
800AF230 00XX <- You can change this value.
E21FFBAE 0006
800AF231 0001 <- 1 for Free run/Machine Test, 6 for racing

Alternative code if above doesn't work

Hold Select to Load Track
D01F0C9A FFFE
800AF230 00XX <- Value of track here
D01F0C9A FFFE
300AF231 000X <- 1 for Test Run/Machine Test/License, 6 for Racing

Free Gear Select (NTSC 1.2)
300A9CCC 000X

Mess around with it and see what you can get from this, some cars react really strange with 7th gear and beyond.

Can you get some screenshots for us?

Sure thing, i'll edit this post with them in a few minutes.

Here you go.

All of these I can confirm DO exist in NTSC 1.2 :D. I also used the Free Gear Select code on the Lotus Europa. The revs get stuck on 6th and 7th gear. In the 8th gear, it acts as if it was 3rd gear. 9th gear, it acts as if it was in 2nd gear. I took the curiosity and used 000D on the FGS code and when I mixed it with the Nitrous code...lets just say that it was hitting ~260-270 MPH, and it wasn't reaching the redline :D

EDIT: Just to make sure that you can use some license tracks for racing, here's two pics of me riding on L_circle30, or Short Circle:

@Xenn: The glitched Laguna is exactly like the one I got. Spot on. Why the heck is it there, I don't know.

@GT3-FTW: 000D would be 13th gear... Without the NOS code it would have terribad acceleration...

I had a look at both tracks, and the glitched version seems to have a few alterations in it which leads to the glitched up road.

I could say it's an earlier Laguna Seca, but it might not be an earlier version.

It could well possibly be one, I looked at it's file and it's build date was before the final Laguna Seca.

AI Handicap Controller (NTSC 1.2)

80046F6C XXXX <- Leading Handicap
80046F78 XXXX <- 2nd or lower Handicap
80046F84 XXXX <- Default Handicap

Default handicap value is 1000, increase it to make the AI faster. Leading handicap takes away the specified amount from the default handicap, 2nd or lower adds the specified amount to the default handicap. Here's an example.

Default: 1200
2nd or lower: 01FE
Leading: 02BE

This will mean, when you are ahead of the AI, their handicap will increase to 13FE. If they are ahead, it will lower down to 0F42. Hope this wasn't too complicated.

Hi all! Thanks for all the codes (I just started using them this week and saw things I've always wanted to see), but I'm still new to this and I'd like some clarification about this :

If you want more powerful AI cars:
801D542A 0100
801D546A 0043
801D54FA 0100
801D553A 0043
801D55CA 0100
801D560A 0043
801D569A 0100
801D56DA 0043
801D576A 0100
801D57AA 0043
(Multiplier of hex 100 which multiplies by 2.55, or use yor own values)
I don't understand how it works, which value should I enter and where ? Just entered thoses codes but didn't see any changes... Thanks for your help! :)

With the code you posted, here's how you use it:

801D542A 0100 <- Power Multiplier
801D546A 0043 <- Gear Modifier (Leave this one)

Let's say for example, I wanted the AI cars power multiplier to be 1.73. We need to convert 173 to hex (Simply remove the point in the multiplier), which is 00AD. We change the value to 00AD and then start a race. The AI car should be much more powerful now. It's best to use this code in the pre-race menu.

You can use this site to convert decimal to hex.

Got it! Thanks a lot :)
It doesn't seem to work though, I've seen no changes... Do the codes work 2 by 2 or maybe I have to enter all of them ? (I have the PAL version)
Also i thought of something : does a code exist to allow you to start in a position other than 6th on the grid ? I've always wanted to do that, 12 years later I can do things I've been dreaming about :P

Chances are, the code you're using might not be for PAL, but for NTSC versions.

I can make my own code relevant to it, but i'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Ok if you don't mind, but no hurry :)

(I don't know if it's the right topic) but I also have a few problems with the game freezing when I get in the car settings when I press L1 to set the gearbox ratio etc... I can press L1 but not scroll down :( Therefore I can't set my customized gearbox service...

That usually happens when you use a power multiplier, I know how to fix it, but the fix varies between different cars unfortunately.

Ok that's what I thought cause it didn't happen with some stock race cars... I guess I'd have to set the gearbox first and then use the power multiplier.

Yeah, I would do that too. That can get around the problem, you might need to set them lower than usual, due to the power multiplier increasing the ratio.

It might happen, it might not.

You're right, it seems it makes the gears shorter (if I put a customized gearbox). But now I can't change them :grumpy:
Oh well, at least I unlocked the Vw Polo, Concept Car and 3000GT LM, those cars I never thought I would ever drive in GT2. That probably makes it my favourite of the GT series :D

Here's a power multiplier you can use at the pre-race menu if you don't want to use one in the garage. It's not permanent either.

Power Modifier At Any Time (PAL)
801DEA98 XXXX

Thanks! I'm going to try the "Merciless AI" code soon as well
