I am considering buying DLC to get the Group C Jaguar XJR9. Given the attrocious condition of cockpits in GT5 in general, I'd like to find out if it has the following basics for racing:

- Fuel gauge.
- Lap timer.

I've researched some videos, but the instruments besides the tachometer are not lit, and difficult to see in tiny youtube videos. None of them demonstrate these working anyway. They just seem to be showing off... that the car exists?

Did anyone blow money on this, and knows what *functional* gauges it has for sure?

BTW: there is a gtplanet thread on this, including a spreadsheet, but it only mentions the XJR9 you can randomly buy in the used car dealership, NOT the DLC version.

The digital gauge that holds lap times and fuel level does not function - in addition to this the XJR-9 has the worst shadow glitches I've ever experienced in a premium car thus far. The only functional gauge as far as I saw was the Tachometer, poor form.

Tested in my lounge with Very High fuel/tyre consumption and the screen holding this information is completely blank.

Haha, it's a cruddy japanese console racing game, I can't remember the last time I discovered anything unusually good about it. Probably because there wasn't one. I'm glad I only paid $5 for it second hand. Damn near blew twice that on 1 car, but thanks to you...

Oh Papyrus, you are missed so sorely!

"Real Driving Simulator" indeed. That's false advertising. Glad I only paid $5 second hand for this game. And that was still too much.

Am I the only one to notice this glaring flaw? So I voted "No, I hate it."
As you don't seem to like GT5 that much, don't let us keep you...

Most Papyrus staff are now at iRacing, but if you need traction control, then it's probably not for you either.
