"Years Ago..." Game

Well, this isn't really a game, but more of an interesting thing comparing today to the past.

I will start with a few example -

Photoshop was a place you went to to get pictures developed, or get equipment for your camera. Today it is an image manipulation program.

A CD was a bank account, today it is a Compact Disk.

Note: It doesn't have to be computer related, even though my two examples are.
 
Years ago a message board usually meant a LITERAL message board where people "posted" messages...instead of a reply button, they used what ancient historians may call "thumbtacks" :)
 
Years ago a computer was a person employed to compute (arguably) important things. Now everyone's got one to spam up message boards ;)
 
Years ago, people would close windows when it was raining, cold or windy, now they close them when they've finished searching through their hard drive (among other things).

Years ago, I use to take drugs to help me when I was sick, now I do so many of them that thinking about it makes me sick. :yuck:

Years ago, showers took 2 minutes and made me clean when I was dirty, now I get "dirty" in the shower and they take me atleast 15 minutes.

Years ago, when I saw girls I pictured them with cooties, now I picture them naked, or with a different type of "cooties" (refer to my avatar).

Now I used files to listen to music, years ago I used CD to listen to music, and years before that actually used to use Cassette Tapes... :scared:

Years ago only fishermen found wierd items on their nets, nowadays just a simply google search will let anybody find something wierd on the 'net.

Years ago a TV tuner was the knob on the front of your TV, nowadays it's a device for watching TV through your computer.

Thats a lot more information then most of us cared to know.

I dunno, I think it was more expensive at some point in the 70s (relative to the value of the dollar).
 
Years ago, me finishing school seemed too far away to think about. Now, I actually finished school years ago...

Years ago, the cinema was where you went to see a movie. Now, it's where you find out about the latest movies to download...
 
Many many years ago, carts where what horses pulled. Now they are fast open wheel racing cars.
 
Years ago "Duncan" was a traditional scottish name.

It is now another word for drinking ability and sexual prowess.

Years ago moderators were people who invigilated exams.
Now they're people who invigilate your free time.
 
Years ago Googol was The number 10 raised to the power 100 (10100), written out as the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros. Today it is a common word that people mess up and mistake for Google, the search engine.

A scanner was a device used to find different radio requencies (like the police), today it is a device you use to "enter" pictures to your computer.

A speaker was a person that got up in front of people and lectured. Today it is something you listen to music through.

A keyboard was something you played music on. Today you type on a computer using one.

A feed something you did to eat. Today it is a way of syndicating a webpage.

The Monitor was a Civil War warship. Today it is your computer screen.
