This was easily the most difficult challenge I've ever done in any racing game. You can't even make the slightest mistake if you want gold. So anyone who is trying to get the carbon X2010 you're gonna need a wheel. No way you can do it with a controler.

Sounds like a challenge :p.

And congratulations on golding it.

(actually the first challenge for me is simply getting to level 30. I simply haven't had the time recently!)

I will try Get Gold with SixAxis :) im level 29 now.. so not so far for me.. will post and say how I did it, think it will be after a week.. so far I can beat alot Golds and beat alot guys with wheels with my old trusty SixAxis :) PS. I will buy a wheel next year! GT5 without a wheel just isnt full XP.. I know that.. 💡 👍

Good luck on that. This car is nothing like you've drove so far. It's insanely fast and very twitchy to drive. You'll be in the walls in seconds. Not an easy car to drive at all with a controller.

Maybe no one told him that Vettel Challenge is impossible with a Controller. Well Not Suzuka and Nurburgring. But Monza is easy, only straights and two chicanes to cut heavy. But if he try other to he will die first than do Gold

Thanks everyone. It was very humbling getting golds. I felt like I really accomplished something. The carbon X2010 is an attention grabber online. :) But unfortunately Tvensky the X2010 is just too fast for a controller. But hey, if you think you can... more power to ya. Just a warning, you're gonna mess up a lot lol. I did...

How does it compare to say, driving the F1 car round the London track in Prologue on S2's (sports medium's)?

Easier, or harder than that?

My thinking is that the X1 round these much larger tracks with better tyres can't be much harder than the f1 round London. I'll have to wait and see though I guess. Not too far from level 30 now :).

Do I get a cookie for beating it with the sixaxis?

Good luck trying to get gold with the controller, I've had a hard time trying to get bronze.. But I managed to beat them after 75+ attempts each track.. Not sure if it's just my controller but turning the X1 at high speeds I feel like there is a delay and it turns after 0.25 - 0.75 seconds after I move my stick left or right.

Nice work, I managed to bronze the challenge with a DS3 controller, and even got Silver on Monza. I got a DFGT wheel so hopefully I can get at least Silver on Nurburgring and Suzuka... after I get used to the wheel first, since the challenge is still tough to silver for me with the wheel

haha.. thanks 👍 I said i will try so I definitely will, some of my PSN friends tryed it with and without the wheel so far they all failed.. so I know its insane thing to do.. wish me luck

Congrats. Welcome to the club.

I actually thought they gave a bit of room for errors as I was always within gold times if I was about as much as 0.5 secs off in one of the sectors. But yes, I had to use the wheel myself. I tried attempting it with the controller at first, and as someone said earlier, it's way too twitchy and grippy for the analog stick or d-pad. If anything, the problem with the controller is trying to have a quick enough reaction/reflex on steering.

The X1 is controllable with the DS3 after I got used to its speed and downforce, but its harder to control on tracks with narrow roads, especially the Nurburgring.

Just golded this myself with a DFGT. Wow Suzuka is a tough challenge, took me about an hour to do a 2.09.5xx and then I went mental, like you say it feels like you've actually accomplished something.

To those saying they'll gold it with a controller, good luck! As an example of how hard it is, my best times at nurburgring:

DFGT: 1.03.5xx
DS3: 1:06.8xx

Huge difference and i'm normally only a touch quicker with my wheel. Unfortunately with the DS3 there seems to be a deadzone in the middle of the steering which makes it hard to predict how much the car is going to turn. Add to that the maximum steering lock on the DS3 is lower and you just can't get gold. In my opinion it would be impossible, even bronze is a massive achievement with a DS3.

Congratulations darkside :)

i think it took me 3-4 hours to get bronze on all three x1 challenges
and i was so happy to finally get the x2010 car.
and i was also amazed how much exp. i got from the bronze.
went from lvl 30 to 31,5. 1,5 lvl up.

and then it all ended for me ;D i had to go on christmas vacation
and so no more playing gt5 but tomorrow i'll be going home again and
i'll try to get all gold medals in the x1 challenges.

how much exp did you get? do you remember? how many lvls did you lvl up?

I prefer the DS3 controller, but when I gave the wheel a try at Nurburgring, although I got DisQ all the time so far since I still need practise, I realised how much more precise you can be in the corners with the wheel in comparison to the DS3

I found the X1 challenge easier than the FGT championship.. It definitely wasn't as painful anyway.

I enjoyed FGT Championship very much! It was a challenge, but I really like how that car drives and you have to be concentrated all the time not to do too many mistakes. The only setup I changed was maximum downforce and raised the top speed by 20 km/h.

The X2010 is pretty easy to drive, the hard part is to react in the corners and dare to go fast enough. It's not slippery at all.

This is why I'm trying to get some duplicated X2010 cars in the Marketplace.

I'm level 29 A-Spec now and nearly 30 using a DS3.

But I think I won't even get bronze on the challenge nevermind silver and gold...

For each race you gold, think it was around 1.8 million exp. Didn't keep track since I obviously didn't get gold the first time I finish (got bronze, then silver, then gold), but I do know I went from Aspec 29.5 to 34 after golding all 3 races.

IMO, the hardest part of these races is learning the car and how much it can really handle, once you figure that out, its all fine tuning your shift points (big help are the youtube vids of other ppl golding). Nurb or Suzuka is going to be the hardest, most likely which ever you do first will be the harder of the 2. Monza is easy to gold since you can cut the track.

Remember that the vids are just a reference point, you don't need to follow their driving line 100%, just adjust it to your style. Watch a couple of the vids from different drivers and notice they all take different lines to accommodate to their style.
