So yeah my ps3 has had ylod for months now, I plan to get a new ps3 soon how will i recover my lifes worth work of GT5 savedata as well as every other game !
soo much game saves it would be sad to lose it all

No he didnt ask directly, but im sure he is wanting to know how to transfer his data to new PS3.
OP if you have done regular game saves your fine just start again with same exact account on new machine and your old game save. If you havent got a game save hard **** im afraid, start from scratch.

If your saves are trapped on the old PS3, it might be a good idea to look into one of the do-it-yourself fixes for YLOD. You should be able to get it running for at least long enough to get the saves copied onto a USB storage device.

Yes search YouTube for the heatgun an thermal paste trick. I've saved 4 ps3 from ylod. It's not dead yet!

If you're not happy to try the diy, there is a company in UK called http://www.repairworlddirect.co.uk/

I sent my PS3 to be resoldered. When I got it back I then backed up my game saves and do a regular backup now.

Btw, next time you should get PS Plus, you can upload your save files to the cloud storage ( plus a lot of cool free games ) no need to backup then
