"Real" world, huh? Sorry, still frolicking in my little pony land. Say, can you spread your enlightenment tour to the European left?

Yes, but many seem enamored with the simpsons, which has had many a sucky episode.

I don't get that show at all. Its humour completely passes me by.

I like megalomaniac's suggestion Hitch-hikers though, that's the funniest book I've ever read.

That and 'Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency' - I hear there's a posthumour six HHG2TTG instalment coming out.

Nothing wrong with The Simpsons - that show works at a lot of levels (not to mention the fact the Homer accords with what most of the non-US english speaking world thinks is typical of the 38 year old middle American male).

Oh, thank goodness, I was worried other nations might actually think we have some semblance of intelligence. My heart almost skipped.

Well, we've got to laugh at someone - and since you could potentially destroy the world, it may as well be you.

Or save it from its moral relativism.

Either way, however Earth goes kaput, it will be interesting to know how many will say the last population died with principles intact.

That would be precisely none, I would suggest - if answered honestly.

Just one more political note, it always intrigues me that the denouncers of military action rarely seem to have much, if any, concern over the typical diplomatic process. But that is a long debate I am not prepared to argue on. It is just interesting.

Such as that in Saudi Arabia, for example?

What concern me about diplomacy is that I believe it can entail many things. The generally defined as peaceful method of resolving an issue is not precluded from having indirect means of supporting violence. To some, trading arms for hostages might be defined as diplomatic, as no military attacks happen. Also, the strength of diplomacy is largely dependent on the strength of the negotiator. If that will fades, people are forgotten, or evil rises again. People rightly claim a very plausible consequence of military action, chaos (civil wars, etc.), but ideally this action, when managed right, can give a short turn around, diplomacy, of course the better choice when possible, can have delays, renegotiations (which can last decades), and a will that may wither with time. For some people involved, it means prolonged oppression; for despots, it means the possible chance at another attempt to gain the power they seek. Inadequate attention and mishandling allow for this possibility. While I freely admit to diplomacy being the superior method, I am unable to be a gleeful supporter, because I doubt the integrity of some of its advocates.

I'd like to say, on the behalf of the United States, and possibly all North American countries, that Talentless is not our representative of proper English, and that you should not make assumptions by his poor use of grammar that all Americans destroy the English language, but just that he doesn't know proper grammar.

No, Brits are hyper sarcastic and have high opinions of themselves, and like many Europeans, though some Brit may contest being defined as European, some they think themselves superior to Yanks. But nevermind that, how can you not love arrogance and sarcasm.? Why smart-mouthed analogies abound! Hell, even when I can't make sense of what one of them is saying, I know that it is sarcastic and about an observed irony which is not actually funny. Oh, and I want to sleep with that chick Hugh Grant used to get.

My comments were not sarcastic or crude, they were actually quite nice, depending on how much scotch one has had.

The first part about thinking we are superior is down to the fact that your President is about to blow us all up. We are so embarrassed of our government that we'd like to be called European but we're not. We're on an island for chrissakes. I love arrogance and sarcasm when its not directed at me.

And Hugh Grant sucks dick.

Lastly, Michael Owen just beat Spurs last night.

Yes and arsenal lost to blackburn you dumbarse and Henry didnt even score.

Its odd I dont seem to like much american comedy (friends will and grace etc) it all seems so forced and unfunny. The simpsons makes me laugh because some of it is sheer stupidity, or slapstic humor. The same goes for futurama as well. Two comedy programs over here in the uk that are doing very well are My Family (think malcom in the middle, with a british twist, adding sexuall references, allot of sarcasm and not based around the nerdy kid of the family) and The Office (Its a comedy based in a paper manufacturing business set in a docusoap style. Although I didnt like it too much at first, but after a while I found it farkin hillarious).

Before I finish reading your post, noone, I must tell you, noone with any taste worth noting likes Will and Grace, though, Messing is attractive.
