Great to see the Sierra and Escort Cosworth win. I guess its too much to expect the RS1600 to make it.

Sierra Cosworth finally.

Another I'd like is the Escort MK3 XR3i or RS Turbo.

Turn 10 did have this to say:

It's been a long week of very short nights, too much coffee and not enough sleep. It was a sacrifice well worth the results - the commentariat triumphed and a truly Jalopnik car pack has been chosen by the masses. We at Turn 10 are nothing if not giant car nuts like yourselves, and though we accept the results, great cars did fall off the ship (no Alfas?!). Some of you will be overjoyed at the final list, some of you might be crying foul as your favorite car dropped off in the earlier rounds - rest assured weary travelers, your cries did not fall on deaf ears. Stay tuned...

My guess is that the higher vote cars that didn't make it will probably be considered later. Nice, either way.

No RS1600 or 205 Turbo 16 = FAIL

They could easily replace the DeLorean and M635CSi. Both of them are much more interesting cars that would be more fun to drive.

The DeLorean would be a forgotten car if it weren't for Back To The Future. Is that really a good enough reason to include it for us to race with? It'll drive like a binbag with cheese wheels attached.

Ah, a Dodge Omnis. Finally I will get to drive a version of my very first car. Not this exact model, as mine was actually a Plymouth Horizon with a single small speaker mounted in the center of the dash, but I will take what comes my way.

We are in the age of the geek. We shall forever want the DeLorean, preferably with the Mr. Fusion option.

actually, as the ONLY American rear-engine car and the final car John DeLorean (father of the muscle car...he created the first GTO way back which started the muscle car era), the DeLorean is actually a very historical car. And, if it's anything like the one in GT4, the DeLorean handles pretty well. Should make for a fun car, actually, and maybe even a sweet drifter.

What about the Chevy Corvair?

Alright, the DeLorean was one of only two American rear-engine cars...although, the the Corvair was rear engine, who knows. And technically both cars where built by GM employees...or former GM employees.

The DeLorean was designed by ItalDesign, which actually explains it's Rear Engine design. And wasn't the DeLorean slightly more powerful?

The DeLorean was originally mid-engined, but they opted for a bigger and heavier engine that was needed to be placed over the rear axle.

Also; Starion, heck yeah.

Someone tell me how the 250 GT didn't make the list?

It's a car that represents the greatest school-ditching movie in the history of time. :D

The results are okay, there's a few cars on there that I didn't want but then plenty of others did so who am I to argue. It's a shame the Fiat Abarth didn't make it. I really wanted that one to get through. But it's a pretty decent selection of cars, the only one I can say I definitely wouldn't have wanted, certainly not at the expense of some of what was on offer is that Dodge Omni GLHS, whatever the hell that is. Looks awfull (I wonder how many people I've suddenly offended). That's probably the US version of the MKI Golf or something, but not as well known around thy globe.

When you say American, don't you realy mean Northern Irish ;).

I was hoping for the Typhoon, but I'll live with the Syclone. I'll need to build a badass mini truck out of it.

I totally missed the Syclone! That's awesome, it was brilliant in PGR4 and I can't wait to tune the hell out of it in Forza 3 :D

Gutted about the 205 T16 not making it through and the Alfa 155 but still, The 037 made it :D:D. I'm probably going to go against a lot of people here but I'd much rather see the Syclone and DeLorean be dropped in favor of cars such as: 205 T16, RS1600 and Alfa 155 and other similar iconic cars to make it through.

mmm....I don't even think Mr. DeLorean was from Ireland. But, I do think that if the car was released a couple years later, DMC might still be around. But, oh well.

The majority of these cars should be fun. I'm surprised the Dodge Omni won.

Key thing for me on the DMC-12: Engine swaps! Get a proper engine out back, paint it in some crazy livery, and it would make an excellent B or A class bomber that no one will use. That's my plan, at least.

No offense taken here. The Omni GLH "Goes Like Hell" was basically the Dodge Neon SRT-4, 20 years before that car existed. Chrysler tossed an outrageously powerful turbo four under the hood, scratched their heads for a moment and put an "acceptable" suspension underneath, and put it on dealer lots. It didn't sell well, but it was a memorable concept. The GLHS was a Shelby-developed version of the car (Shelby was doing work with Chrysler at the time). So, nothing outrageously special... But cool to American car geeks. Plus, when would you ever expect to see something like this in GT5?

Finnish Bomber
When can we buy this?

Summer, probably.

Have you not seen a Talbot Horizon here in the UK/Europe?

Talbot Sunbeam was performance choice in EU with its 3-door hot hatch look. Quite iconic here in the UK but not a much as your Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, VW hatches.

Even though the DeLorean DMC ended up being built in Northern Ireland its still made for the US by an American Company.

Don't get too anxious about that, so far there aren't any cross-make engine swaps available.

Yeah, but you might be able to drop an old GTO engine in it, since the DeLorean was made by the same guy who created the '65 GTO...or, rather, he was the guy who said, "It'd be cool to put a big engine in a small car." Although, the GTO and Charger were really "small" but they did have some monster engines which made their way into smaller cars...except the GTO...although, the original Tempest/LeMans was actually relatively small.

If they do it, they're going to follow what is actually done. So, bigger (different?) Peugeot V6s, or some kind of forced induction.
