http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/visa/ They now have a World of Warcraft visa card. You can earn game time by making purchases. I play WoW, and enjoy it, but i think having a warcraft credit card is just taking it WAYYYYYY to far. Like, look at the designs in the top right corner of the webpage, Imagine getting in line at Wal Mart, and there's an attractive woman in line behind you. You whip out a WoW credit card :D

That's when you tell her you can down a Smirnoff Ice without getting drunk.

and that she can come over to your house and see, but only after your mom has gone to bed.

I feel bad for a person who has security issues about playing WoW. I play WoW and I know at least 20 different girls that play the game too. I seriously see no issue with getting free time if you use your card enough. If having a funky skin on a credit card hurts your nuts, maybe you should try growing a pair. Or maybe not be so insecure with a game you play...

Man, pretty soon people are gonna get edged out of jobs because a certain applicant shares a certain affinity for a certain game with a certain boss, certainly.

thats when she whips out her wow credit card :sly:

but i dont play the game but i don know one or 2 hot chicks that do play the game and several other not so hot chicks that played.

Most sports fans I know are more fanatic than the people who are so-called "addicted" to WoW. I've had enough of people putting down the game and the people who play it. I can't stand the game - much like I can't stand organized professional sports - but I don't feel the need to preach to those who do play it about their "addiction."

And what about this good-looking girl in line? So what, because someone plays a computer game and likes it a lot, they are some how less masculine, but jeering and hooting as a group of grown men runs down a field carrying a pigskin ball is the epitome of manhood?

I'm sorry, but this kind of crap really gets me upset. It's all too easy to see someone deriving pleasure in abundance from something we don't like or can't quite understand ourselves, and conclude that the person must be "crazy," or a "loser," or "addicted."

Live and let live, you know?

Okay so upon second reading, it appears no one has actually come out and denounced WoW players in this thread.

As I wipe the egg from my face, I will explain that I'd rather not see this thread turn into one of those types of insult-storms, but I think it's inevitable, Mr. Anderson.

I think you misread his critique of the product. People who actually get the card with unlikely be ashamed of it, that's how into the game they are. There's a gap between the people who have insecurities about playing the game and the kind of people who are actually applying for the card. I believe the OP was judging the latter category.

I've heard this a million times and I've gotten crap about playing the game from people in real life and online. It just seemed like another attack. At this point I play 1-3 hours a week as I have pretty much had enough with online gaming. But I look back at the almost 4 years I played the game and don't regret spending likely around $500 on the game total. The amount of fun and the people you meet was defiantly worth it.

The stereotypes people put on the players that play the game is astonishing and ignorant. Personally, I know a lot of people who play the game 10-15 hours a week on top of college, job, parties etc.. who would look at this and be like.. sweet, no more boring credit card and I get to save money.

I think if he isn't trying to put out another stereotype then he should change the titled to something less sarcastic. But to be honest, I don't see the point of this thread.

Whoa everybody, chill. I believe I stated that i DO play WoW, and trust me, I hate that it automatically makes you a "nerd" in the eyes of the world. I'm sorry if i offended anyone, but don't think for a second i was saying WoW is for people with no life, as I try not to be a hypocrite. Please, can everybody lighten up, re read the original post, and check out exigeracers post?
