The game is here soon, it has lots of content and many tracks most of us never raced in before.

Also the physics will be different from anything played before...

What is you "attack plan"? Going offline for some time until you get to know the mass of new tracks? or just jump online randomly?

I would be tempted to jump for online fun, but not having "stock" races in multiplayer it would be a massive disadvantage compared to any half good tuner and would probably give bad vibes...

Also the excellent (as far as videos showed) AI might be a great way to learn about the game before venturing the online part?

Wondering what are your plans.

For sure i'll give Imola a go in a GT3 car with probably 100% AI, just to see where i am :D then maybe i'll go career for a few days until i'm sure i can get around online without issues, since we now have the drivers rating, right?

Step 1 - 2 days of vacation days so I can devote 100% to the game.
Step 2 - offline free practice for a bit to get a handle on the physics and maybe tune 1 or 2 cars.
Step 3 - start my career.
Step 4 - some online with friends on day 2.

For me it is tradition to start in Monaco whenever it is available. It's far from my favourite circuit but I will give it a 3 laps or so blast. After that I will go through the new circuits such as Dubai Autodrome, Watkins Glen and the fictional locations. After a comprehensive look at all cars I will start Career.

I will probably give online a miss on Day 1.

First thing would be to test the 'realism' of the whole thing....the little details etc. and also get a feel for the general handling.

#1 - Figure out my favorite settings for the wheel, camera, etc using the slowest car available on tracks that I have raced on in real life - (Sonoma & Willow Springs) so I can get a real comparison. (solo)
#2 - Drive the slowest 3 cars on all the tracks (solo)
#3 - start career mode with the slowest car
#4 - race the fastest twitchy car with AI at 100% so I can see how horrible I am and get that Holy **** factor.
#5 - grab a beer or 2 then play some more..

Offline for me, which is where I'll spend practically all of my time. Firstly I will check out all the tracks, cars and liveries and then some time trials to get a feel for the handling, then mix it up with QRW and probably start a tin top career. OMG, it's so close now and I don't remember looking forward to anything as much as PCars except for when I was a kid waiting for Santa at Xmas time!

1. cry a little because my logitech wheel won't work
2. set up a playlist consisting of songs from sega rally 1, GT 1 (japanese) and ridge racer T4 to be barely able to boot the game up using a controller
3. take the 320 turbo to the nordschleife in helmet view
4. go buy the T300
5. cry some more because my girl left me (the logitech purchase is not even a year ago)

:D

Having little to no experience with sims (besides trying out rFactor on a crappy laptop with a gamepad years ago ), I'm just going to start by getting used to the limits of each car. Start with something slow or maybe a faster, more forgiving car, and build my way up before doing the career/online.

I'm not that kind of guy playing online, so I'll just play offline for the majority. (I'm a "casual type" online gamer, and I have a wireless Xbox 360 controller, no steering wheel.) I'll have to get used to a variety of cars and tracks first before I start career mode - I just want to get a first feel of it before I'm ready for the long run.

Hmmm, this is a good question.

I will do one of two things.

I will drive the Escort 1600 on either the Nordschleife, or the California highway in the rain, all assists off in the DK2 while moderately drunk.

I simply cannot wait for this game to drop, it looks AY-MAY-TO THE-ZING!!!

Start a career from the beginning, karting and then work my way up to LMP1. I've done most of the career already, but in pieces here and there. I've strictly avoided the zero-to-hero line, because that's my reward to myself when the game comes out.

I suspect I'll also be dedicating a fair amount of time to the leaderboard challenges.

For my career mode plans...I'm going to go Zero to Hero. Start from Karts and work all the way up to LMP1. Problem is - how I will route...karts and formula route? Or touring, GT and LMP2 before LMP1? Hmm...

I already did the pre-download thing. Next up is to try and get as much of my work done as possible before it goes live to free up time for the game.

Once I get into the game I will probably just take a few cars out and run a few hot laps to get the feel of it then maybe some online racing with my friends.

As for the offline part I will likely start with the karts and work my way up if it keeps my interest. I am still a bit leary of the format where no credits or car collecting is done. This has been a big part of the appeal in some of my favorite car games and one of the biggest downsides to games like GTR2 imo

I'm 40 today and as such by midnight tonight I will be suitably inebriated. This means no online racing until I eventually wake up tomorrow unless someone fancies a bit of destruction derby. In the meantime at midnight I suspect I'll be crashing my way around the Nordschleife on my own in a car that I think looks fabulous based on how it looks cross eyed.

First time poster here hi guys and girls. My plan is too get one of the slowest cars and get a feel for the game first. Then after a fair few laps with random cars and tracks I will give tuning a go (never goes well). But best thing is I'm off work for a month after a operation so got plenty of time to sink into the game yay.

Practice race at Brands in a random car then a 3 lap race of the Nurburgring in a P1 before starting my career in the Karts
