I'm hoping the same amount of people will still play. I think PD needs to pull off something amazing for everyone to come back. This board has been dead lately aswell.

Just remember to tell your friends to tell their friends to tell their other friends to go online when it's up.👍

hopefully this downtime will clear out the tank car/veyron/minolta/ZR1 RM noobs so only the REAL racers are left

Na 4 weeks of down time wont do a thing. Everything will be just fine.:sly::sly::sly::sly::sly::sly::sly::sly::sly::sly:
Don't race public lobbies any way. so won't matter.

These are more important than them.

Online B-spec earnings lost due to down time will equal millions of credits lost.
Online car Dealership would of offered a few cars needed.
Seasonal events delayed buy a few weeks.
B-spec drivers stuck in online limbo....

online random player lobby not that important...

I wouldn't count on getting any patches, though GT5 is in dire need... And I wish PD wouldn't be so silent.

Everyone who played online will still own GT5 so I'm pretty sure they'll just get back to it.

Don't need PSN to provide patches. On topic think there will be more people than normal for the first few weeks ( well except all those hardcore gamers who have traded to xbox).

Turkey :D

Ikr, it makes me angry they don't tell us what they are doing currently.

Online GT5 will last for years.. no worries
Just look at GT5P, some still play online event a few weeks after GT5 launched.

It hurts my online experiance, thats for sure. But on the other hand, less online play = more time to studdy and read awesome books, and making 🤬

we will still get on and play

after all, it doesnt take long to realise that the multiplayer is the best about this game :P

Ha ha, I'm thinking the opposite! :p I'm hoping only half as many will come back. All the punters and cheaters will hopefully move on, leaving only the more serious drivers. :p

I think this is pretty wishful thinking, as much as I agree... It'll take a while longer for that, though. I wonder when the next Call of Duty is out?

doubt it'll have a negative effect, but this downtime has meant i've fine tuned my racecars to the enth degree, and equipped other cars with racing softs, etc that I kept meaning to do but never got round to. Ready to hit the ground running when it is back online.

After 4 weeks of delays, there will be a lot of racers going for online races, so I'll be expecting for a special maintenance.

Best thing that could happen is for law enforcement to find the hackers and hold them liable for all the lost revenue, then throw them under a bus.

I wonder if PD is done with GT5, no DLC since it was released, rumored new project, the seasonal events might be all were ever going to get.

This is bad, 3 weeks without online gaming, but sony and PD are known for not telling the truth. I hope PD makes a really good game update or something, the game is still broken. And i dont care about dlc, I just want them to add stuff that was in gt4 etc.

There's been news from one of the large UK games stores that there has been a large increase in the amount of people either selling their PS3's or trading them for Xbox's.

I think there will be a reduction of casual gamers from GT5 online, whether this is enough for Polyphony's servers / online service to be reliable as other PS3 games, we'll have to wait and see. Probably not - Prologue was a nightmare, they never bothered sorting out the connection problems with that.

As a presumption, I don't think many hardcore GT fans would be included in those trading / selling their PS3. About now, most or many people would have finished single player and would have either already or be about to (when PSN is back) race online.

Once you start doing that with freinds or in a well organised and fair race series, no way would you sell or trade your PS3 and loose that.

Possibly there will be a few less idiots in online lobbies - we'll have to wait and see.

For all it's glitches, problems and issues, no other console racing game can compete when you have a group of even drivers in even or equal cars.

Shame one player and B spec was soooo pants.

@budious
Lol nice one

IMO PD will release an update when PSN gets back up.
At least a patch for the new PSN will be needed lol

I would really like to know what will happen with B-Day Tickets though?

Yes. Without online or seasonals I has found GT5 a little bit repetitive...

Both Sony and PD fails co communicate with us, its due to the japanese organizational culture, they hardly admit that they do wrong decisions, and not losing face is also very important in those cultures. Japanese have their special ways, just look at gt5, kaz said that he didnt like to add additional things to the game, once its released, nissan gt-r, the untunable car, sushi, dont ask for more wasabi, the chef have allreaddy made it perfect. So the japanese vendors think that they have done so excelent job, that there is no need for modification, weither its console games, cars, food, etc. To be frank, japanese think they are supirior, and dont like other people/companies to improve their product, in their eyes its a lack of respect.

But to us US and european players, this mentality is quite strange, because we are used to improve stuff. Just look at PD as a company, they have to improve their processes, and it had to be a ddos before they woke up, and saw that their systems was outdated and slow. And then sony have the curage to sue people left and right for beeing innovative? It stinks japanese organizational culture miles away...
