You'll be very lucky to get a copy of Prologue

I was advised today that copies of Prologue will be limited to 1 or 2 per store in the UK!!!

Tried to pre-order from Game and they are not accepting pre-orders and say that the couple of copies they have will be on a first come first serve basis.

When I mentioned that the game can be ordered from the net, I was told that websites such as Amazon who are advertising the game won't be able to fulfill their orders and simply don't realise that they won't get many copies to sell.

Apparently they are going to be like gold-dust and it's not just a marketing gimmick, they really are only going to print a very limited run.

I was told this is to prevent it stopping people buying the full version later in the year.

This is really worrying. I'm tempted to order from 3 or 4 places just to be safe, but then I might end up with 3 or 4 copies!

That'll be fine if I can sell them on I guess.

So are we all looking forward to a game that most of us won't even be able to get our hands on?

We'll be seeing them on Ebay for £100.00 each I reckon!

God I hope not, its sad when people buy more than they need just to sell on at stupid prices like people did with PS2s on launch :irked:

Totally agree

Please note that I've ordered from more than one place not because I want 3 or 4 copies, but simply to ensure that I get at least one.

I'll sell on to my brother and give one to my son if I end up with extras. Just wanted to point out that I certainly wouldn't be buying extras to flog on ebay. I'm just such a GT fanatic that I can't bear to think of not securing a copy!:)

I personally think that's bull, but we'll see. I talked to a gamestore and he can get as many copies as he wants basically from Sony. That's the last he heard. It's just that Sony will take it off the market as soon as GT4 is on the market or before. So while you can get it now, you will not be able to later on. Hence the limited edition.

Well if the Asian/Japanese release isn't really limited I don't see why the PAL one would be. I've pre-ordered it, but if it doesn't come I'm sure i'll be able to pick up a secondhand copy anyway, when most casual gamers sell theirs because it's too short. And if that fails there are other ways. And even if that fails i'll still have my Chineese copy of Prologue that i've owned since last year.

What's the big deal? I'd rather just wait for the final release of GT4 anyway.

There's no sense in paying for a tease of a game.

Most patently absurd comment I've heard from a retailer in years.

Sounds like a load of cack to me too, the days of new video game products selling out and stuff are hopefully history. Remember when the PS1 first caught on? They were like gold dust that xmas:lol: , also when Goldeneye was released on the N64 it sold out the same xmas and you couldnt get it until the next Easter:eek: . But this just dosent seem to happen anymore.

I've still pre ordered mine in case tho:scared:

Rubbish!

Its a limited edition version of the game featuring and extra features disc.

It will be limited in that when the demand inevitably dies off in the next couple of months it will cease production.

It will definately not be sold after the release of GT4.

Most shops should be able to get multiple copies until demand fades away.

Maybe game hates you.

And you'll find that majority of the people who work in those shops know **** all about these things. There just retail staff.

Well I've pre-ordered my copy so I am happy, DVDCrave is where I've done it at so if any of you guys want to preorder then just go to www.dvdcrave.com. They are an Australian games store that also have a full online store where they ship to most countries.

As I understand it, in the UK the deal for the game shops goes like this: they can order as many copies as they like for the release of GT4P before the release date, but after that they cannot order any more.

Hi, somebody knows any shop that sells the GT4:P PAL version and that is safe? and ship worldwide the game?
Excuses by my english, a lot of thanks.

Ok I have a feeling that the place mentioned above ship to most countries around the world. So Bocha try them as I can highly recommend them, great service.

They looked up the official e-mail on their screen. All Game Stores are not allowing pre-orders on this game!

Well, that's their problem then. They'll miss out bigtime.

Then why on earth are game refusing to allow pre-orders?????

Because Game SUCK. They promise the cheapest prices in a 3 mile radius, but refuse to acknowledge their own website as a source of prices - they claim it's a "separate department", while they wander around the store wearing T-shirts advertising their website.

I've not bought a game in Game since 1998. They suck SO bad.

Got mine on order from Special Reserve and a local independent. If I get both then one for me and one for my little brothers.

The girl in the independent sid they had been told they could only obtain GT4 Prologue by pre-oder and once the lauch date was past no more could be ordered.

This sounds a lot more likely that the c**p from Game, my opinion of they is very close to that of Famine.

A friend of mine like winding them up, he did not pay for a game for six months. Bought it, played it for ten days and then took it back and claimed under the 10 day return policy. In the end they banned him form the shop.
