So, what are some of your best experiences in the game? I've got a whole chest of them, but let's hear yours!

To kick things off I'll start with a brief account of a brilliant race I had against the AI yesterday.

We were at Circuit de la Sarthe's "no-chicane" layout. I was driving a McLaren MP4-12C, and also in the field were a Ferrari FXX, a Bugatti Veyron and a Cadillac Cien. I knew I had to get up to the front fast if I was going to win, so I wasted no time climbing the field in preparation for the Mulsanne. As I flew out of Tetre Rouge, I saw that the Ferrari and the Bugatti had got caught up behind a Jag, with the Caddy just up ahead. I slotted into the draft behind them, and for the first two-thirds of the straightaway I actually managed to keep up, so that come Mulsanne Corner I was in 2nd, having overtaken the Bugatti (who had hit the wall on the preceding kink) as well as the Cien.

Just before the brake run into the corner, I realized that I could actually undercut the Ferrari and, if I nailed the exit, keep the position, which would enhance my chances greatly. So I did it, and the next few seconds were spent in pure, unbridled suspense. At first, I chose to use the left-hand lane to block the Ferrari, but then the Bugatti got a massive run, so I switched over and blocked him. This allowed the Ferrari to draw alongside, and as we hit the first kink he tried to push me off to the inside in order to scare me into giving him the position for Indy Corner. Now, Indy Corner is a tight right-hander where you need all the road you can get to maintain absolute control of the car, so that's understandable. But I knew the risks: my car was much worse at braking than his, so being behind him headed to the brake run wasn't an option. So I pushed back, forcing him off the road. He got sideways, and, as his car was sliding, accidentally almost ended up pushing me off the road. I remind you that all this pushing and beating and slipping and sliding was happening on a narrow, bumpy, two-lane road at 190 miles an hour with cars that are not the easiest to control. It was absolutely frightening.

For the entirety of the rest of the race except for the last lap, the Ferrari made damn sure to whack me in the left rear heading to Mulsanne Corner to express his displeasure, though on the final go-around he actually tried to get around me, as a green Huayra had broken free of the pack and was now giving us both nightmares. But that's not all! After the race, on the cooldown lap, he drove up to my driver's side door and I could imagine the little hand conversation our drivers were having. It was excellent!

I enjoyed playing through A-Spec mode, some races I ran several times and had a lot of fun doing so, especially the 20 mile Willow race in under powered cars.

Haven't played much lately, tired of doing the same things over and over. Was hoping for that new track by now and the community features but.... Guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer
 
I had a great time driving the Audi R18 in Willow Springs with the night falling down.

Also had really great experiences putting old sports cars, such as the Alpine A110, VW Karmann Ghia and Alfa Romeo Giulia, in snow tracks.
 
Driving the KTM Xbow on The Ring 24 Hour, at sunset, with the 1.02 & 1.03 physics. Best fun I've had in GT6! :)
 
Having to drive the Veyron on Ascari (I hated the car in GT5) thanks to the S5 licensetest I like it much more now.
And on top of that the beautiful Ascari circuit nice winding curves ... and no bounce barriers!

Willow Springs and Matterhorn in the different variations are great too!

I guess I'd have to go with the Andretti Hudson. Was pleasantly surprised to see it show up and doing the seasonal around Willow was pretty fun and challenging to gold.

My best experience so far was setting up the Autobacs Garaiya to my liking without using someone else's tune as a base. I'm no tuner so getting it to behave the way I wanted was immensely satisfying. Not the greatest thing I know but still the best thing I've done in GT6 so far.
 
When I drove my Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR with comfort soft tires on the Nurburgring at sunrise. Best fun I`ve ever had in GT6 so far!
 
Buying back my old LFA from GT5 and upgrading it into the new Nuburgring Package.
 
My first best moment in GT6 was when I was able to take standard cars to the photo travel. And could also buy standard cars from the dealership. It was nice to finally have the restrictions removed from the standards. Buying the C7 Corvette was also a wonderful experience. To top that off, being able to play on Mount Panarama (Bathurst) for the first time was also a wonderful experience. I haven't played on that map since Toca 2 on the xbox. Overall I am truly enjoying GT6.
 
Racing around Mount Panorama in the Raybrig HSV versus some of the fastest racers I've come across in a day-to-night race and coming out on top :)

Also, taking part in - and 'managing' the team who won - the GTP 12 Hours of Bathurst Team Endurance event that took place in February. It was this race that started my love affair with the track and is also a large part of the reason I've done almost 4000 miles around the track to date, despite owning the game for just over a month now.

Another little positive thing I like about this game is the fact that when you pause the game whilst on track, if you make any changes to the settings and then exit that settings menu, the game doesn't unpause itself but instead returns you to the main pause 'menu' - an improvement on GT5. Not strictly a 'best' moment, but one which makes playing the game more enjoyable (despite the obvious).

This is also very fun to drive very thrilling hearing a V10 Rev up to 9,000!

The Nurb package also has a different exhaust note than the old GT5 '10 one.

A religious experience. I literally jumped around the house when our old buddy Boabdulrahman showed it to us all in glorious orange form.
 
Probably happened yesterday, took a couple of previously unused cars around the ring in the dark, no aids and had quite a good time. Cars were stock too, the M4 Coupe in that new fangled color and an Elise 111R, fun was had. :eek:
 
First drive on the Matterhorn track, simply breathtaking. Then the replay from the GT500 Championship on Mount Panorama, about 4.30 in the afternoon, slightly overcast, the lighting was incredible and on the second lap the sun breaks through the cloud and bathes the track in beautiful strands of sunlight, awesome. Incidently you can simulate those exact lighting conditions by setting time to 4.30 pm and setting weather to 25%. The next wow moment was in the Ride like the wind race on the X track, I was using the Sauba Merc and drafted my way to the front of the pack, I was pulling away from the main pack and was well clear thinking this was too easy, all of a sudden I became aware of a car in my rear mirror, a Pagani Huayra??? next thing he takes me and then ensued a dramatic battle to the finish line where I had to time my draft to go past him at the right moment to beat him over the line, terrific fun.
 
Yesterday my heart was pounding as I was chasing the McLaren F1 GTR in a BMW M5 on racing hards doing the 15 minutes Nurburgring.

First barely made it before 15' mark for the third lap and then almost got him but had too much gap before the final straight - the M5 just could not match the F1 acceleration.

Also taking 470-510pp cars on comfort soft tires for the Nordschleife midnight race (IB) is always a guaranteed fun. :)
 
Tons of great experiences in GT6 (I skipped GT5). The graphics are awesome compared to GT4, same for the physics.
I like the seasonal races. The Rocket at Suzuka was great fun. I would have never thought of driving that funky looking car by myself.
I'm enjoying all the premium cars. Cockpit view, no aids, comfort or sport tires. I'm having a blast.
If I ever get tired of playing offline there are always some competitive people online or the WRS events (holy crap these guys are so organized)
 
The first race (not the tutorial one) was my best experience, so far. Most things afterwards've been filled with frustration. :p
 
I had a whole day off from work today and my house has been empty, so I thought I'd have a go with some of the Group B rally cars and take a few photos...

I drove the Delta S4 and the RS200 first for a few laps each and took a few pics. They were okay but rallying has never been GT's strongest asset so my expectations were low. I saved my photos and moved on to the Audi.

Driving that (stock) Audi Quattro around Toscana put one of the biggest smiles on my face I've ever had from GT6!

25 laps later and not a single shot taken. I was still flying around like Stig Blomqvist! Too busy having fun! Definitely the best experience I've had with GT6 to date.
 
Most of my fun so far has been doing the one thing I did very little of in GT5 which is hotlapping, mainly stock cars for the Nurburgring Lap Time Board, but other cars on other tracks as well.

Is it freaking you out? :nervous:. I get what you mean though....but it is nice to sometimes see positive threads on the forum. Despite the game's issues, it can still have positive moments.

As for best experiences, I have had a fair few, most of which have come doing Arcade Mode Time Trials for the WRS weekly events. The ones I can think of are:

- Driving the Ford GT 05 (or 06, one of them) around Willow Springs for one of the career races (can't remember which). The driving was fun but the best moment was watching the replay...in particular, the overhead camera angle of the second corner (the sweeping right-hander). Watching the GT going round that corner from what is, essentially, a helicopter view is astonishing;
- Running the Elise 111R Race Car '04 around Trial Mountain on Racing Hards. I adapted a much faster driver's tune to allow for my lesser skill and the car just flies around the track. It grips so well and is just so much fun to drive.....I clocked up over 1200 miles in a week trying to eek out a little more time. Running the entire first section up to the first tunnel full throttle in a planted and nimble car is just so exhilarating;
- Trying to tame the LCC Rocket at Monaco is just so much fun. For such a small car, while on sports softs, it is just so agile and deceptively quick.

To be honest, all the combos we have driven for the WRS have been great fun (the Audi S1@Apricot, Ferrari FXX@Monza, BMW 2002@Rome, Pozzi Camaro RS@WIllow and RUF RGT@Nurburgring GP/D being the others). I am surprised that the most fun I have is just time trialling trying to find that extra millisecond of time. :)

Struggled with some things but getting there.. Gradually upgrading my licence trophies i might even have another go with the redbull at goodwood..
 
In my last online evening, I'd set the "penalty" on. Never tried this before, so used the weakest setting. Mid-race I tried to cut a corner inside my mate, and at the last moment, I realized there was not enough room. Oops. However, since the car was off-track, it ghosted and I shot through like a wraith and took the lead. Briefly. Having discovered this trick we experimented more.

We had lots of laughs!
