Today is the due date.

But still no baby.

Any time now I guess. Tonight? Tomorrow? The suspense is killing me and the days of waiting are very long indeed.

Hey, make sure the car's fuel tank is full. And her stuff's ready. And chew lotsa gum, if you've really quit smoking.

Good luck to you and the Missus, Eric.

Good luck. Don't drive too fast getting to the hospital. I suspect once you have the baby you will be scarce around these parts for a bit.

Now where was that web page??? When will the pics of the new guy be loaded?

You have my hopes and prayers that every thing goes well in the delivery, and the travel to and from.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

BTW, Is this the first baby announcement that has been on GTP?

I think Magic announced on bahalf of a friend yesterday.

There will be plenty of pics and as soon as I can I'll make them available to the world.

That's some interesting stuff you have up there...

You sure you got that address right? I ended up at Arizona Wholesale Tools....

That is weird. It worked this morning. That site is officially defunct and I don't know why it's showing up. My incompetent webhost must have screwed something up. What BS! I'll take care of it when I get home.

This is so weird. When I type in the address it goes to the right site. But when you click on a link here at GTP it goes to the wrong site. They're in the same place but that's never happened before.

So if you wanna see type in (or copy and paste) www.milesbaby.com

Yeah, about 1 baby in a thousand comes on its due date, and about 1 in 10,000 first babies arrive on time. I give her 3-5 more days.

How's everybody feeling?

We're feeling fine but growing impatient and more and more anxious.

Well, I guess my wife is ready for it to be over with, what with the indigestion, heartburn, peeing every five minutes, back pain, and all around hindered mobility. She's a trooper and I admire her so much. I would not be able to take it as well as her.

Oh and last week her doctor told her that the baby could easily be nine pounds or more.

I was nine and a half pounds and she was almost nine so it wouldn't surprise me.

I was told " thats a big baby you're havin there" ....

10lb 1 oz  1st baby! ...I blame 'his side' :(

We have it narrowed down to two, and will choose one when we see him. So that is to be announced.

We're going to the doctor today so hopefully there will be some action soon.

We went to the doctor's yesterday and they set up an appointment for an induction on Monday night. But the way they do it, I guess due to the unpredictable schedule of a maternity ward, is set a six hour window during which the hospital calls you. Our's is six to midnight. So Monday night will be, well... an excercise in patience to say the least. She also said that sometimes induction doesn't work and you just have to wait a day or two and try again.

We much prefer labor starting on it's own, and there's still all weekend but I guess it's fairly common and we trust her doctor. I think I read something like 25% of all deliveries go that route, most of them first babies.

Yes... long days, indeed.

My first son's delivery was induced. They don't like to wait too much past the due date. Usually induced labors move along at a faster rate. My wife was in labor 5 hours with her first child. As labors go that was pretty quick.( of course, as my wife would say, a male perspective ) Good Luck , keep us informed!

He may have announced a friends baby, but I think yours will be the first from a registered user who was involved in the conception.

If Magic had a hand in the conception of his friends, there's another discussion going on somewhere.

I'm betting a few of us have fingers crossed for a smooth and trouble free delivery.

Hope all is well.

Okay, I know some of you have kids. As you have probably heard me mention, I, too, will be a dad in about two months. So Maybe those of you who already have them would say a little about how your life changed when your little bundle of joy hit the scene. I already know that it changes "everything", but I guess I'm looking for particulars, details... from those of you that care to share.
The focus of your life will change forever. It will shift from you and your wife to the brand new life you brought into this world. One of the true miracles on earth. He/she will depend on you for everything. You must feed them physically and emotionally. Children learn from actions, what they see is what they do. Read to them everyday!!!! Dr. seuss was my favorite."Horton Hears A Who". I wish you the best of luck, I'm sure you will make an excellent father. P.S. Relax and enjoy it.

Good luck to all parties concerned, mile. You'll all go great, I'm sure.
👍

Ask the doc if you get a discount if you cut the umbilical cord.

Good luck, Eric.
