Your favorite pro drifter

Nevermind... He uses an advanced AE-111 4A-GELU and he shifts at around 9,300RPM I think. Yes, TRD made that engine for him because he used to race in the Advan AE86... i have heard he got more power than 170ps since the last touge video.. I WAS WRONG ;) but oh well everyone is wrong once in a while... for me its alot in a while... damn it.. i failed my Conceptional Physic test :(

did anyone notice that the guy that Keiichi looks up to, his name is Takahashi. Initial D anyone? I wonder if Keiichi had a part in naming the characters because Keiichi helped out a bunch when making/animating the series. so maybe he did intervene with that. peace.

Well yeah... Keiichi named like half the character.. because he owns half of initial d and is the founder of D1.. now this is real information... he said it himself in a D1 video so... yeah he had alittle to do with charater naming. Also figure that Takahashi also drives a R32 GT-R ;) but the thing is.. the driver of the R32 in initial d.. like lost all of his battle, and is the opposite of Keiichi as it seems.. He think that drifting is a waste of time and is always slower than gripping while when he had a S13 he drifted it  and one last thing is that the R32 driver dont seem to be that skillful.. isnt the R32 driver the one he looked up to?

Anyway, I think Nomura is definetely the most impressive drifter, and probably my favorite as well. He puts down the power like nobody else. How many other cars can actually completely cover the car behind them in smoke while drifting? As for the Signal drifters, they are good but personally I don't think they are quite up-to-par with the D1 Best 16.

well they DID end up 2nd place in D1..

I think the whole competition thing is bull. It's cool to watch, but I think it shouldn't be corporate and all that. I'd like to see people battle eachother on a closed course for the respect not a trophy. Drifting is infact an artform and I think drifters and enthusiasts should strive to keep it that way. Thats just my opinion, but on the subject, I like Keiichi but I especially enjoy watching Youichi Imamura pilot his FD3S. They are all good in their own different ways....

This D1 your talking about is in cali right.. cuz in both 2001 and 2002 the signal twin wasnt in D1 which was located in japan

Katsuhiro Ueo. Lowest power, highest entry speed and craziest angles!

And KT may be the "drift King" but lets not forget that hes a racer- always has been. Hes not a style drifter like Nomuken or Kumakubo (who both rock). HEs ll abotu smoothness and speed and control.

If people would line up by the thousands, and pay $10.00-20.00 to watch you and some of your friends drift, your going to turn it down? It's common sense; do what you love, and get paid for it.

And people have been battling for years in private, with nothing more then pride at stake.

Bottom line, drifting is becoming more commercial on a daily basis. Does that affect the skill of the drivers? We'll see.

Since you obviously don't know, most, if not all the D1 drivers are also professional racers.

since I dont know? Pretty cocky there, guy.

I was pointing out a difference in style. Have ANY of those other drifters done ANYTHING CLOSE to what Keiichi has in the world of racing? Like... say... won Le Mans?

Its a little more obvious where Keiichi's skills and passions lie- he's obviously not as showy as a lot of the other guys, but he IS Faster, smoother, and in most people's opinion, more skilled.

Where Nomuken will mash his throttle as early as possible to turn his tires into a towering inferno, Keiichi will maintain half or 3/4 throttle, lighting up a little, but definitely maintainging a better, faster drift. His Feints are lighter, quicker, better controlled, and generally he is simply more precise than almost any other drifter on the circuit.

Gee... where would these talents have REALLY come in handy? On a race track, maybe? Where he got his START and has BEEN since the mid 70's?

All of the other drifters who race professionally havent been doing so for as long as Keiichi. They hopped into drifting almost as soon as they came off the Touge. They are MASSIVELY skilled, but the skills they have come from a different life and career.

And Yes, I do know that Keiichi was a Touge racer before he raced professionally. Did YOU know that the "drifting" thing on the touge has only RECENTLY become a big thing? Only in the last 20 years has it become something stylish to do on the touge.

Stop makign assumptions, Trim your ego a little bit, or shut the **** up.

Yeah.. Drifting in Touge wasnt big back then when Keiichi was still a touge racer, he was drifting while other grips. With his massive skills and bravery he kept up with grip drivers while drifting.. his drifts is not expetition (cant spell) he just go the fastest way he knows how. Stray is quite right about keiichi he drift faster than most drifter out there.. like most drifter stay in the range of 45-60mph ( i know its KM/H there) but keiichi he would take it to the extreme probably around 70mph... that is very fast... he maintain his speed while drifting and that is very difficult.

Most D1 drivers are professional race car driver in the JTGC... Battle stage was just pointing out that most of the D1 drivers are professional drivers.. alot of them won JTGC or something before... although nowhere near keiichi racing history they are still professional drivers. Not many japanese driver was in the LE MAN i dont think.. and keiichi was one of them to win LE MAN which is a very difficult task.

Keiichi did more of "Race Drift" than "expetition drifting" or show drift... But yes... he is very skilled indeed and is a great drifter not the best but one of the greatest..

He keeps saying hes faster. Now, as far as my limited knowledge goes, drifting isnt about speed 90% of the time...

yep... drifting isnt about speed unless your racing in a race and drifting at the same time... ;) i dont care for speed actually...

I'll take a pic 2mmrow..

okay Ueo is prob the most crazy skilled drifters out there. but asamoto and imamura are my favorites. as for someone saying that drifting isnt about speed...it kind of is. what do you think is better a drift at 35mph or a drift at 70mph. think about it.

I think its amazing to see someone drift at high and low speeds, but 70mph is pretty fast for any drift exibition heh.... IMO
