Speed definetely matters, but not directly, it's more of a side-effect of taking the proper line. In order to take the most desirable line (touching the outsides and the apex) you have to build up enough speed to follow through with the corner. That's why it's considered a big deal if one person pulls away in a drift competition, or if one person is pushing really hard on the rear of another. It means the person going faster is using much better technique.

It was a wakening thing for drivers in those days, who all grew up that sideways was slow. He proved otherwise, that if drifts were performed in braking zones in places where it was selectively effective tactically, it was very useful. It may not be the absolute fastest way to get around a corner but it certainly does help you change racing lines that's otherwise blocked by slower fields, or to get around and block lines of others. Everyone ridiculed his driving at first but as time went on people began to wonder how he was still maintaining position. It was something Keiichi called his own, that no one else can...drift in braking zones and maintain exit speed.

Well you can buy it at www.bestmotoring.com ;) but i "bought" it at Overnet... www.overnet.com you can try to "buy" it on Kazaa too look around im not sure if Kazaa still has it in stock... ;)

I just Download it on Overnet... Overnet.com its kinda like edonkey really slow but you'll get it done in about 1 week if u leave ur pc on a whole week ;)
 
Yep, NP anytime.. Also there are tons of Best Motoring video and Option Videos on there with size like 589MB... all around 1 hour... so good ;)

Really... hm... i kept my on for a week and its only 5 mb short but that damn thing STOPPED!!! :( wont move so i guess it will take a while before its done... hopefully by this afternoon

i was talking about the D1GP that took place at irwindale california. it wasnt the HKS S15, it was kazama's (i believe that's who it was) blue S15.

but it is true, in the videos i have seen of Tsuchiya driving the cars he usually drives, he must be unbeatable. he has the quickest steering control i have ever seen in my life!!! his hands are like a blur O_O!!!

but i still think there are those out there who are better. in fact, theres probably a couple of touge drifters out there who nobody has ever heard of, but could smoke any of the D1 drivers.

oh yeah and the other day i was watching an option video at a shop, and i saw a vid of ueo drifting on the touge...OMG...thats all i can say to that O_O!!!!!!!!!

I've only seen Ueo do touge at night and within his lane =( So it wasn't very extreme in fact he was barely drifting. I need to get more videos dammit, but there's so freakin many!! I don't know where to start, aside from choosing random Option videos and such. My friend just got one that she says is all about 86's so I might have to check that one out.

Well... i agree very much that keiichi is not the best drifter... he is no doubt one of the best out there. Even though he is a great drifter there is always going to be another one better...faster.. and more talent than him.

You should see his drift bible.. he did mess up once or twice.. but as he said "Even monkeys fall from a tree" :lol:
 
Keiichi never compete in D1.. he do drift for fun around the track but not competing just like Jetstorm said hes a judge
 
ken maeda and takahiro ueno

ueno is probably one of the most under rated, and maeda is just badass. watch the d1gp. he dirt dropped and messed up his drift but still ended up beating ueo. he was drifting just as fast as all the turbo cars, and he was following closer then anyone else dared to.
 
Keiichi Tsuchiya would have to be the king.......might not be the best in the world at the moment but he is king and know one can take that away.....
