Custom, baby...I get exactly what I want.

Plus I get to hone my troubleshooting skills.

I will admit that I built my own system, and have had hardly any troubles with it at all. (except for this damn mouse! )

It's always something, isn't it?

My video display will off-center itself randomly after changing resolution....

Custom...just built mine and its great.

AMD Athlon 1800XP+
80GB HD
512 MB RAM
GeForce 4 Ti4600

Its black and silver with a mid-ATX case...this thing rules my world.

Probably dell out of that list.

But out of all the comps I know of, I'd go with AlienWare. They are way expensive (latest one is $7000) but there computers are built with the best components at the time. 😈

Sounds like the refresh rates are changing when you change resolutions. Check the Hz on the refresh rates for all the resolutions you use, and try to find one the works with them all. that SHOULD fix the problem.

As for Brand name computer, i would simply build it myself. I have been building my own PC's since 386's were top of the line, and i have never purcahsed a pre-built PC. But if i would, then there is really only 1 choice. and seeing as how none of you know of them, you all suck :D hehehe

www.falcon-nw.com

^^^ THE ultimate gaming PC. Alienware looks kewl, but thats about it :p

Oh yea, and they are much cheaper then Alienware, those highpriced bastards just rob everybody they sell too :p

Ive had two dells wich where ok better than any other computers ive owned or used. Ive had very little problems with them.

One computer builder that I highly recommend which is not on the list is E-monster GREAT machines, if they where as big as dell they would realy cause some trouble for Dell, I have two of those right now I have never, I repeat never had a problem with them, a friend of mine has had his for 3 years its just a P3 at 600 mhz and he never had a problem with it so thats one you should look at when buying a PC>

I don't think we have them here though. The closest we've got is E-Machines.

Falcon Northwest is a great company for gaming machines....SO you're not the ONLY one who knows who they are Angel...:D They just came out with the Mach V Exotix which are blazing fast.

Cool, thanks Angel!

I checked my monitor properties and saw that I had only one refresh rate available: 60 Hz. So I lowered the desktop resolution to 1024x768 and now it has a few more options.

Thanks! :D

I've heard that E-machines are good for tweakers...I guess they don't use all that "integrated motherboard" crap.
