The idea behind this thread is simple, I think... Tell us about the cars that you use quite often, that you can always fall back on. You know, the stuff you do most races in a given class in, the stuff you love. Maybe post a picture or two, too.

I'm of the opinion that most of us have such a car. Or several of them. Maybe because they're super fast and make winning easy, maybe because they look good, maybe because you're emotionally attached to them.

I was kinda suprised that such a thread hasn't been established yet (or that I actually missed it), so I guess it's about time someone made one ;)

I guess I'll start with the car that's currently being displayed on my TV:

'85 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex

Not exactly the most powerful car in D-Class, obviously. Especially since I spent most of the remaining PI on increasing the handloing even further. Most of the work was done to the tyres and the suspension, and out came a quick little bugger. With about 130HP, you wouldn't expect it to be very fast, would you?

And yet, it is! With just 2150lbs, it does have a decent power to weight ratio. and thanks to the amount of grip the sport tyres, it can out-accelerate and out-launch a lot of the stuff usually found in its class. The RWD drivetrain helps here, as well.

The Hachiroko is currently the only car I'm actually using on a regular basis in D-Class, so it basically is without equal - yet :D

I'll post a few other cars from other classes soon, I guess... But what about you guys? :)

For R3 races I seem to be stuck to my Mosler MT900S like glue. I keep meaning to change it for another ride but it's too much fun to drive. Handles like a car from a higher class at times.

The little AE86 just managed to amaze me even more  Ran a top 1% time at Road Atlanta's Club Circuit during a career race, without even trying.

I think I have done the most races, don't laugh, in the Ferrari Dino. But favorite? Hmmmm. Really hard to tell. I get in a car, do some mods and it becomes my favorite for a little while until another comes along. Recently is an S Class Lamborghini Murcielago. And I am a Ferrari fan too. I love the way the green Risi F430 drives. My first upgrades are always suspension/brakes/tires. So the better a car handles like the 4wd lambos or Evo, etc, the better I like them. And even though I am like level 43, I have been mostly racing A class and slower because the tracks are so detailed, I just dig checking out all the scenery.

For R3, the BMW Z4 GT3 is hard to beat, such fun in close racing, A Class would have to be the Sierra Cosworth, its a Tag Victor! S Class would be my SC300 Drift machine :D

For me it has to be the Mazda Furia. This was the first expensive car I bought in the game, and so far it has been worth it. So easy to drive fast! And it is just a great looking car!

For any S-Class races I always roll with my Wiesmann GT MF5. Damn fast in a straight line and nice and predictable handling.

For R1 I use the LMP2 Mazda Dyson B09/86 which has all-round higher stats than all the LMP1 cars I have in the stable.

For Production R3 I have the Mosler MT900S and for GT2-class R3 autos I have the Risi Competizione F430GT. For Racing R2 I have the Takata NSX.

Luminis do you care to share some of your setup? I need to build a few D class cars.

I have a lot of favorite vehicles, I will later update this post with a few pictures to go with the car.

S - A - B Class

Escort
Volvo 240 (I switch between RWD and AWD depending on class)
80's Vanquish
Saleen S7
e30 M3

So, another favourite car of mine. It's one of two RWD swapped Hondas that have earned me a fair bit of money.

'97 Honda Civic Type R

This Civic is still in C-Class, and despite the carbon fibre look, still retains the original weight, but received some nice upgrades to both the tyres and the suspension as well as a nice bit of additional power.

Thanks to its aero parts, it's quite fast and stable through most corners but can actually hold its own on a straight quite well. It's also a pretty stable car and relatively easy to keep under control.

The RWD swap might be just about the best thing you can do to the Civics. I mean, I've never been a Civic fan in real life, because I usually dislike front wheel driven cars... But now, that that is taken care of, it's a very, very nice car. Highly recommended.

The Trueno is available in my storefront, for 1000Cr. :D

In S class my Diablo GTR is surgical, but for the sheer insanity of it my S700 800+ HP TT Corvette C6 Grandsport makes me smile like a maniac when i am driving it like a trying to hang on while the car acts like a raging maniac smoking the tires and getting sideways even in 4th gear. OOO GAWD I LOVE THAT CAR... disclaimer... it will never make it high on leader boards but if I had the funds I would defiantly try to build it as my personal weekend car.

My 3 garage favourites so far:

All personally customised to desired specs.

From S to R2 I haven't found a car more fun than the Enzo so far. With delicate throttle control she dances and glides around corners, and even with tall gearing, there's massive power on tap.

I quite like the Aston Martin Virage. It's got a good balance to it and the suspension isn't too stiff like most high end cars.

I absolutely love the VW GTI Mk3 VR6, I've got 3. 2 FWD ones in D and C and an AWD one in B. All 3 are killer.

My Mazda Familia (Protege in the US) is an amazing C-class car. It hits 60 in 5.5 and pulls over 1g (tuned, obviously), which is phenomenal for a C-class car.

The VW GTI Mk5, despite being absolutely hideous, is one of the better handling FWD cars.

Let's see, what else...
'65 Mustang with full handling upgrades is brilliant in B-class.

That one's an absolute beast! Yet oddly so easy to control; one of my faves also.

I just drove it today and yes I agree, it's so easy to drive!

My Favourites?
  • E39 and E60 BMW M5 (Could insert the F10 but have yet to drive it)
  • BMW Z4 GT3
  • Ford Falcon FPV and Holden Commodore VE
  • Pagani Zonda R

I have C425, B500, A600, and S679 setups for my E30 M3, along with an A598 with the E92's V8, an R790 V8 twin-turbo with AWD, a B500 with the E36 I6, an A600 six-cylinder, an S700 with a six-cylinder turbo, and an R796 with the I6 turbo and AWD. Of course I'm so much of a purist and twisty-track-fan that I've really only used the 4-cylinder RWD versions anyway.

The only other cars to get multiple class setups have been the E28 M5 and E24 M6. If BMW built it before 1990, I'll drive it. Which reminds me, I need to do more with the 2002T and M1...

I really don't limit myself to BMWs (Toyota's in the running for top affinity level on my profile), but that's just the problem: I like too many cars to list them all here.

Just got the Zonda R and put the 6:47 Nurburgring recond livery on it.

As you might have guesses from my previous post, another one of my favourite cars is my second RWD Civic... An this is it:

2010 Mugen Civic Type-R 3D

6301636733_4c4509a031_z.jpg

The 3D still retains its naturally aspirated engine, but despite a relatively small upgrade in power, is fairly fast all around. It quickly turned out to become my all-purpose vehicle, as it started to dominate basically every event I entered it in with incredible ease.

Prior to the Civic, was using an S2000 almost excusively for B-Class, and it was actually the nice look of the rear wing that started to make me think about building the 3D up to be a nice B-CLass car. Well, that and the mean looks of the car itself

Despite the sport tyres, the wider width of the rear tyres and the downforce, it still was a pretty tail happy beast that tried to bite back quite often. Hence, it took quite a bit of time to tune that out a bit. Now, though, it's losst a bit of its aggressiveness and can be driven without worries. Not that it's a tame car, just that: Very, very drivable.

This thing is the main reason I started to buy one Honda after another and do RWD conversions to find some nice stuff, by the way

Always been a pretty big JDM fan, so here's my list

F - Datsun 510 (in urine yellow...saw one all raced out when I was a kid, and have been in love with this ugly little gem ever since)

E - Mazda 2

D - haven't really done much in D yet, so nothing so far, but will probably end up being my AE86 (Initial D baby...I'm a loser, I know lol)

C - '93 Civic hatchback (FWD FTW!! RWD civic = blasphemy! Haha jk, havent tried any swaps yet, I'll have to give this a whirl)

B - Honda s2000 modded to 500...love the handling, and man she's quick! Great sound too. MkIII Supra is a close second.

A - '97 Acura NSX. Super charged, with most other points going towards handling (sport tires + weight down), this thing is a beast. MkIV Supra a very close second. Too much fun just trying to hang onto this thing around Fujimi Kaido.

Haven't really done much with S and higher, so no favorites yet.
