Your FAVOURITE handling car in GT4!

I'd say the "best" handling cars have got to be:

The '62 Skyline Sport Coupe and the '54 Vette. No other cars in the game can you come blazing into a corner, brake when you're right on *top* of the corner and smoothly glide around. The Skyline is especially fun under hard turning because the weight shift is so dramatic the whole screen must tilt about 30 degrees

Other than that... there are just so many cars that I admire the handling of across the entire spectrum of handling styles. Here's some: :dopey:

Toyota RSC - my go to car for NA Sports. Wonderful car to toss from side to side.
Impreza 22B-STi - both exceptional grip and controllable power slides at the same time!
Elise Type 72 and 111R - ohh... but how tight we corner!
Renault Clio V6 24V - A bit delicate but so, so smooth.
BMW M3 GTR,CSL and M5 - Now, do I really need to explain why these are on the list? :sly:
TVR V8S and TVR Griffith - So much fun. Exceptional speed and just enough oversteer to be fun without being out of control.

Opera S2000 - A "rails" car.
Merc 190E - THE "rails" car.
Lotus Europa - Old school's idea of smooth

And then there's the fun "seat of your pants" kind of cars :)
Lancia Stratos - Unbelievable speed, Unbelievable cornering ability (although the line between gripping and sliding a corner is razor thin), Unbelievably difficult to tame. The Wild Mustang of GT4. If you want truly  driving... take this car into the Nurb 4H and leave it stock. YES, it can win although it's best to avoid the Speedster, NSXes, Elise and Garaiya.
Alpine A310 - You have to learn an all new driving style to tame this beast.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

In order

Road cars:

M3 CSL-handlings great with stock or tuned settings. Driving it around nurb is orgasmic

Z06-The only american car I can think of that will make this list. Feels great stock, and beats practically anything tuned.

R390 road car-Maybe a little underpowered in stock form, but it's on rails. Handles good fully tuned and nearly has enough to keep up with F1's. I haven't even tried touching the settings yet.

Race cars:

R8-German engineering at it's best. Glides through tracks like no other

787B-I prefer the black one without any body refresh or rigidity. Just feels right.

R92CP-Not the best handling car in stock form maybe, but with setting adjustments it's orgasmic. The king of oversteer.

I think this was covered before??

I did up a maxed out Lancer Evo II last night with no aids and most power to the rear wheels. Around NY it was drifting like a dream, what was funny is that the Evo III with the same settings pushed like a pig! :yuck:

Cars I like? BMW M3 CSL, BMW 2002, AE86, Amuse S2000, Evo V, I could go on and on! :guilty:

The first car I bought after getting 100% was the Chapparal 2J, and it was totally worth it. the handling on this car is simply unfair considering it gets downforce from a snowmobile engine in the back that literally sucks the car to the ground. This car has redefined the meaning of "glued to the track" for me, as I blow by C9s, R8s, Speed 8s, and just about anything as I exit a corner. It was a good thing these types of cars were outlawed in races because it's just isn't fair. I'm glad this car was included in GT4 though.

As far as drifting goes, I've always loved drifting in the old Viper Gts ever since the first Gran Turismo came out. So many good times spent on turn 2 of High Speed Ring.

last night was tuning the australian Monaro - very very cool - plenty of drift through the corners and doesnt 'snap' back when it straightens - fully 'mumboed' it puts out 670ish HP - so whilst not the fastest thing under the sun due to lack of outright grip, it does put down some reasonable times due to straight line speed

its already been said, but Mustang Shelby 350GT-R - ive turned mine into an 'elenor' (sp?), with over 500hp - and i like it for the same reasons as the Monaro

For me, the '99/'01 Honda S2000 takes this hands down out of the cars I have driven so far. I bought this car, put standard economy tires on it, took it out to Tsukuba and was blown away. I knew it could handle good but [sheesh]! Thing was on a rails without a hint of wheelspin. And that was on standard tires. Usually I like the challenge of driving cars with wild handling but the S2000 was quite a pleasant surprise.

Just for the record...

I don't like this idea...
Simply acknowledging that the "best handling car" thread exist is not enough for me to warrant a "favorite" handling car thread.

After all, can we really say there is a "best" anything... It is just opinion.
Wouldn't that mean the "best handling car" vote for any of us is in fact our "favorite handling car" ?

Sorry to be the downer but that is how I see this.

So, with that said...
Touring Mars or Daan
This is a call for one of you two to make. 👍
Leave open or close, it is on you.

Other than that... :indiff:
aah! you olde stick-in-the-mud! we are talkig bout pplz driving passions not "duh, do you like skylines!?" :p

with out further a-do allow me to intruduce the isuzu coupe! race flywheel, sports exhaust, sports springs and a na1 tune. it not fast but it has a great feel about it :D and looks great!

I'll take your coupe and raise you a Bellet GT-R!

But yah, the Isuzu races were a blast. Nice little cars, even stock. After I finished the Isuzu series, I started collecting all the colors. :p

Most Favorite - BMW M3 GTR. Amazing handling, able to take turns and accelerate with sports cars twice its price.

Least Favorite - My own car. 1991 Honda Prelude VTEC. In real life, i've taken turns doin doin speeds that shouldn't be possible, in the game, ya gotta take corners doin half the speed of everyone else, and even then you make the turn by bouncing off the wall.

I love the 350Z LM Concept for when I want to rip fast laps. It's really stable, accelerates quickly, and turns to wherever you want to go.

For a relaxing drive though, I love with BMW M3. It's stable and can easily do lift throttle oversteer. It's very fun on the Nurburgring with it.

s13 silvia K's.

Can do 7:15:xx 'round the ring, and i'm smiling the whole time. nothing stressful, relaxing drive, but it's surprisingly quick. Handling is predictable and makes you feel like driving on a lazy sunday, but you're leaving your rivals eating dust.

been my fave car since GT1 :D

I'd say at the moment, My sileighty is set up so sweet for gripping, and by touching 1 button (B Setup) it becomes an all out drifting god!!! lol...

Other cool ones,

Lotus Elise Motorsport
Re Amreia RX7 <--- RAILS I SAY, RAILS!!!

The Yellowbird makes you feel like a god.Drifting on the Nurburgring at 150mph is scary but also fun in the Yellowbird!

My favourite handling car is right now hands down the Aston Martin DB9 - stock. Wonderful perfomance and just a slight understeer (that I normally HATE) which is easliy cured with a slight throttle lift off or changing up a gear in mid-turn. 👍

Right now I'm using it to DESTROY the opposition in the British GT Cup. Although the car is way to powerful to have any real threats in the field I'm still getting 170 a-spec points a race..

Cheers!

How on earth do you choose "best car" with over 500 in the garage, and if your a complete car nut then that makes it even harder.
From my experiance I have a "best" car for an hour or so then along comes another, and changes depending on my mood, do I go drifting in a fr beast or want sheer out right luntatic speeds with 800+bhp. " So many cars " .
One thing I love about the game, going of the subject a little is when I have just seen a car on t.v, say for instance "Top Gear" and then taken it out for spin in Gt and comparing how it drives to how they said and 9-10 they match up. 👍

Cars Cars Cars Cars Cars Cars Cars!!!!!!!!!!! :)

M3 GTR.

Precise handling when I need it, but still gives that feeling of "just barely in control" at times. Love it. Fast too. 👍

Scooby, the title of the thread is your FAVORITE handling car, not the best ;) And I admit, I have more than one "favorite" for all different types of driving, but I've already listed them :)

Let's say upfront that I love a car that offers a little bit of oversteer when you enter a corner. Consequently, the BMW 120i diesel (midly tuned), the peugeot 205 16v, the trueno are all enjoyable to drive.

Mercedes 190 E Evoll. I just drove one of these outside of a license test last night, and it's crazy.

You can brake SO late in a corner it's not funny, and it'll get right up and go immediately. Sure, it might not be the absolute fastest DTM car, but it's so much fun!

Honda NSX-R. Totally balanced, tactile and exhilerating, all in one easy to use package. It can easily manage the standard power, and is great fun pushing hard.

Other mentions are the BMW M3 GTR and the RUF RGT. The RGT is utterly brilliant even though it has a flawed layout - tackling its drawbacks is so addictive. Also the little Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally car is awsome fun. It can go into any corner at what you think is stupid speeds, and it just grips, and grips, never wondering off its line.
