8/10 - needs better AI to tune up their cars to keep up with you. I think if the AI can intellegently tune a car to match something you have, it would be premo!!

edit - I should go more into detail here. The AI lacks the suffecient amount of brain-cells to realize braking points, and that the object is not to bash the opponent out of the line the opponent is in while the AI is behind you. Minor ones I can understand, but if you slow down fast and the computer keeps going, come on. Then again, at least the AI doesn't say it can do X'XX.xxx on lap X with X car and X mods.

Japanesse car boost. Come on you're telling me that a few American, and European cars handle like that in real life. This is suppose to be "The Real Driving Simulator" right? PD needs to get their act straight and make the cars a little more simulated.

The lack of cars is not too big of a thing, but I want a '69 Camaro SS . I think there were other cars more worthy of putting in this game then a ton more japanesse cars then needed. You don't need 8 or 12 or 7 Lancers, come on.

Those are the big reasons why I rated the game

That's a good point. And so are some other minor glitches, but they do not bring the overall rating of the game down for me.

if you take into account how much detail and effort and sheer briliance went into this game....i'd say no matter how "average" the AI is, there is so many things about this game that make me want to cry tears of joy.....

10/10

8/10

The game is so close to perfect that the two problems I have with the game must each carry a penalty.

1. The lack of cars compared to gt2. That pissed me off.
Not the used Japanese cars, but the cars that were awesome and removed for no reason...
TVR Cerbera Lm & Vector M12 Lm
To mention a couple.

2. The techinical over sights of the western cars...

Specifically the stupidity of making the Japenese cars right hand drive and then making all the European cars left hand drive...

We all know that the only left hand drivers are over on this side of the lake.

Oh yea, the lack of an american flag on appricote hill is a big problem for me... but not worthy of knocking the rating down.

Oh yea, like miata said...

The overly populated Japanese cars and only a few cars from the rest of the world.

Then a complete bias with the handling of the Japanese cars...

I mean, american cars handle much better than portrayed in that game...

Plus, the fact that they made Acura out to be an American company...

Sure, they dont sell them in Japan and it is specifically only for sale in the west...

But I dont care... acura is honda and honda is from Japan... keep that crap as a Japanese car, not an American....

You know, with my ranting I have realized that the game is worthy of a 7.5 or 7 rating.

My rating...

7.5

10/10 is just too generous.

GT3 has great graphics great gameplay great tracks great cars (not enough )
But you cant race modify cars there are not 600+ cars license tests again are too hard. We will see what gt4 has to offer maybe they will see the lite and bring back the classics, muscle cars classic 80's cars maybe a few concept cars. Maybe an old caddy or maybe an s-10 truck the race modify it.... heaven is made of such things. I ramble
:odd:

I am pretty sure it will, once that gets running OLR will see the next evolution. I would love to play some of you pros. :) On the refverse side of that, the amount of wall bangers out there can stay away from me. I personnally would prefer not to race or meet you online.

i would give it a 9.5 which would round up to 10... all gold licenses should count for something! either % or unique cars... something.. that's my only complaint... i wouldn't mind more races :)

I gave it 9/10.

Given that I would give no other game more than 6 or 7.

Gran Turismo 3 has made me change the standards against which I judge games.

It is a great game but there are a few things I would change.

1. Make the shortest races 1 or 2 laps longer.
2. Make a little more money available to begin with and have tire wear in all races.
3. Allocate prize cars a little differently. Some are too easy to get others are too hard.
4. Make AI quicker but with similar tire wear to humans with similar lap times.
5. More tracks.
6. More endurance types eg FF, FR, MR, Nissan, European only cars etc
7. More one make or one model races. Nissan get a fair go and Mazda do to a certain extent. But how about a Toyota series, rotary series, Mitsubishi (not just Evos) etc.

I gave Gran Turismo 3 a 9/10.

Here's the reason why I didn't give it a 10/10:

It seems like that the AI just came from the GT2 and took over in GT3. In my opinion, there wasn't much competition since most of the AIs use the same strategy. Sometimes, the AI cheats in order to keep up with the player. I don't think that's legitimate because then it ruins the integrity of the game.

Some improvements that can be made are:

1. Making it easier to earn money in the beginning
2. Have horespower restrictions starting in Amateur Races
3. More cars :D

9/10.

Because i think it is awesome in every way but the cheating AI. I would like the game better if they removed the AI's 'cheatability'.
Even if they were still as useless as they are already i wouldn't mind.

Because i've learned how they drive and can avoid being hit by them most of the time.

👍

8/10... If it wasn't for the Artificial Idiots  a clean 10 would be given 👍

Mmmmmmmm...

I'd have to give an honest answer of about 8/10, 9/10. The only two things that I don't like about GT3 are that the AI can't keep up with you, and that there are only 6 cars on the track at one time.

If the AI could tune their cars better, they'd have a better chance of keeping up and thus, better competition.

The developers should have, for the AMA Championships and upwards, included about 20 cars to make the thing feel more realistic.

They're the only two problems that I have with GT3.

But I also agree with Ducati, in a sense. Even though the AI is lacking, all the detail and effort put into GT3 makes it worth not having much competition.

9/10

- AI could be better
- use your own cars in I-link is missing!!

Me neither, but just knowing that you can't use your own cars makes the game blow.. I'm changing my vote to 1 :trouble: Damn them PolyPhonesians

Polyphonesians? You on dope?

it's also strange that the computer takes over (the number 2) in 2-player battle when number one has finished, but in the I-link mode you can drive out the race yourself!!
