What would you have rather had PD do about "premium" vs. "standard" cars

  • Keep everthing the same

That's true what you said about the constentisy of previous games.

But we'll have to wait and see. I won't be using cock-pit view at all when driving premium, so I suppose the experience between the two cars won't be too different for me.

Sure, not that much of an issue for you then. For those switching between interior and bumper (when forced to by standard cars) will somehow get an uneven feel of the unique characteristics between cars.

I was talking about how PD paring back on the padding just a little bit would make the game much better as a whole. I wasn't really talking about the difference between the two tiers.


So are you suggesting that PD made up all new, higher quality textures for the GT3 cars? Because even if you subscribe to the "GT4 was massively pared back and future proofed" theory (which admittedly seems to be ringing true to an extent), there is zero evidence to suggest they did the same for GT3 cars, and quite a bit of evidence to the contrary.

I am not saying anything. I am not even bothered about standard cars quality but if someone is having difficult in IQ of GT5 with GT4 or GT3 then he needs get his eyes sorted out. I have already posted a comparison shot of GOW game on PS2 and the HD version of PS3. The only difference is resolution and aa. The IQ difference is considerable. In GT5 they are just using the car assets from previous game. Everything else is same other than no proper damage and no low, high beam like premium cars of GT5

Without going in too much details. Forza3 premiums are in photomode only otherwise it is slightly better than Forza2. There is no comparison between the two games IMO

Well the word "over" can be interpreted as estimate or target or could also be more than. I hope it is the "more than." Well hopefully it increase to at least 250 or better yet 300. LFA and Honda super Gt is not yet shown even if they already confirmed that those cars will be part of the game so maybe more cars will show up or some of them are secret. We have not even seen the Bugatti Veyron even if it was already shown in one PS magazine last year

:lol: Actually the word "over" means more. The word "around" could mean more or less but near the target number. They said "more" not "around".

If someone is over 6 foot tall, they are 6'1 or 6'2. If someone is around 6 foot, they can be 5'11, or 6' or 6'1 etc.

Honda super gt is on the list. If you're talking about the HSV then no, it will not be in the game from the beginning.

well the word "over" and "more than" is still different. Oh well hopefully will increase. 250 or 275 will do or if they are generous enough , 290 will do.

We kind of do but you're right.
Kaz said they are working on it and that it might not be in GT5.

I knew a guy who once claimed "afternoon" refers to sometime between roughly 10AM and 3PM...

I could not fathom how someone thought a word composed of the two words "after" and "noon" could possibly mean a time before noon.

That has now been topped... I have now seen someone think that a word composed of only on word "over" also includes "under"... which is the polar opposite of over...:ouch:

Amidst all the recent news on GT5, I started to dig up old GT related videos and I discovered a very interesting video of Kaz presenting "the future of Gran Turismo" at TGS way back in 2006.

Doesn't "GT-HD Premium" and "GT-HD Classic" sound an awful lot like premium and standard?? The bullet points that describe each confirm that the notion of GT having premium and standard cars. "GT-HD Premium" is described as 'Full PS3 Spec Qualities' while "GT-HD Classic" is described as "GT Assets recreated in full HD". Even the video he shows to demonstrate "GT-HD Classic" looks very similar to the standard cars video released only a few weeks ago.

lol I found this really cool when I watched this. To see all this big news that we've been getting being delivered in a press conference that happened 4 YEARS AGO. :lol:

There is alot more interesting bits in the video. Especially the list of proposed features at 1:40. Interesting to see many ideas that were proposed back in 2006 (before GTHD was even released) finally see the light of day in 2010. (would LOVE to see if PD ever got around to the number plate editor :lol:)

More neat tidbits:
- Spectator Mode!
- Coloring/Livery Editor (guess Kaz didn't get to do everything he wanted to do) :(
- "Race Builder Tool" = Track Creator? :)
- A "more casual gameplay style" for GT5?? (8:31)
