Nothing wrong with that, friend. It was really tough for me to choose ten favorites as there are so many well made titles, especially in the last couple years.

Hmmm... I can only do an unordered list until I have time to think, but:

Deus Ex (PC more than PS2 but I played the PS2 version first)
Metal Gear Solid 3
Metal Gear Solid
Micro Machines 2 (Mega Drive II/Genesis)
Ghost Recon (PC)
Escape Velocity Nova (Mac)
Full Throttle (Mac)
Gran Turismo 4
Borderlands (PS3 & PC)
Wipeout 2097.

While I like the idea of the thread, there is virtually no conversation going on here. Just lists. Which makes for, IMHO, a useless thread.

Ddrizle
Bobble Bubble - NES

Wasn't it Bubble Bobble or am I wrong.
Single screen platformer with two dragons going down each level. Great music too.

There was a puzzle version too involving bursting sets of 3 the same colour bubbles.

Great game.

I disagree. However, only facetiously. There's a discussion, as it were, in a nutshell. Have at it, GTP:boggled:

Tricky question indeed! Here are mine, I can't possibly put them in order though (where I like a franchise i've put my favourite):

Manic Miner (Spectrum 48k) - The one that got me into it all, back in 1983

Chuckie Egg (Spectrum 48k)

Flashback (Sega Megadrive and SNES)

Goldeneye (N64)

Shenmue (Dreamcast)

Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (AKA Tomb Raider 4) (PS1)

Myst (PS1)

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2) - Close run with GTA:SA just because of its sheer size, but 80s FTW...not played GTA4 yet though

Ico (PS2)

Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) - Tough to decide between GT2, GT4 and GT5 but realistically, this is the one I have got the most out of, and has the best cars =)

Runners up, some of which don't technically qualify as computer games:

Pong (Teleng Videostars) - OK not "official" Pong but there were a lot of these consoles back around 1980 with a bunch of other proto-sports games on the cart too
Chequered Flag (Spectrum 48k) - Oh yes, my first driving sim!
Knight's Quest (Spectrum 48k) - Text adventure game, first of many =)
Knight Lore (Spectrum 48k)
Jet Set Willy (Spectrum 48k)
Rebelstar (Spectrum 48k) - Epic turn-based strategy game, evolved into UFO/X-Com
Elite (Spectrum 128k)
Microprose Soccer (C64)
World Class Leaderboard (C64)
Rick Dangerous (C64)
Mercenary (C64)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Sega Megadrive)
Tetris (cheap handheld version)
Outrun (Sega Saturn) - From the Sega Ages compilation
Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
Broken Sword (PS1)
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
Okami (PS2)
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Half Life 2 (Xbox)
Angry Birds (PS3 and PC)
Pool (stupidly simple but addictive version I have on my phone)

People enjoy it and perhaps share some memorable games, therefore it's not pointless. If you don't like it you know the drill ;)

Without a doubt, I believe you might like GTA4. Tractor-trailor trucks and jumbo jets were the seller for me in GTA: San Andreas!

Seeing as I've only been around for 15 years, I won't be able to provide much true insight on classic games (ie games from gen 4 and back, though I have played games from that time). Also, I don't have a top 10 as such, so I'll just go with it here.

Obviously it goes without saying the GT series is pretty much all good, with the possible exception of 3 TBH. My personal order of the games goes 1>4>2>5, and GT1 would probably be my top of all if I had to choose. I don't actually own Forza 4, but I played it and liked it a damn lot. I'm sure I'd be acquainted more with it if I actually owned even an X360, I'm sure.

Don't mind the Ridge Racer series at all, nor the COD series (though MW2 with a 3 on the end of it flopped hugely because of what I just said). Of course, as a Brit, I obviously play the FIFA series a fair bit too. And of course the Pokemon series took up a fair section of my earlier years too.

I also have a soft spot for the hugely underrated GT Advance series (seriously. Find the 3 games in said series plus the MotoGP game made by the same team, they're all serious fun) and, now moving into classic stuff, I damn love both the Mega Man and Mega Man X series. Also 2D platform Metroid games as well, and the game which probably still beats any Madden game today - Tecmo Super Bowl, the 1991 NES game. That's around my top 5, for sure. Also a couple of Mario games I do like too.

I understand I haven't played a whole lot of fully serious stuff, like RPGs (ie. Final Fantasy is merely a semi good series to me now...) or other modern shooters. But whatever. It's just the way I play and buy my stuff.

It is indeed Bubble Bobble, you're correct on all accounts. :) 👍 It was in arcades also. Ah.....the good old days.....

^Argghh 24hrs of Bubble Bobble music in my head now lol.

Edit.

Got to throw in Mr.Do and Mr Do's Castle and Bomb Jack in there too for Arcade memory's.

Great game.

The puzzle version which featured the little dinos Bub and Bob was Puzzle Bobble, or Bust-a-Move in some territories.

The true sequel to Bubble Bobble was of course the awesome Rainbow Islands, where Bub and Bob had inexplicably evolved into little kids. Personally I always preferred RI, the bosses especially were awesome fun but I did play 2-player Bubble Bobble quite a lot on the C64 too :)

The reason its hard to put them in order is because (for me) I don't have a single favourite, only a bunch of games that I have enjoyed the most.

World of Warcraft - during The Burning Crusade and The Wrath of the Lich King
Gran Turismo 2, 4 and 5.
Diablo 2
Pokemon Gold
Sega Rally (Sega Saturn)
Oblivion/Skyrim (PC)

There is a big list of games going back to the Mega Drive through the Sega Saturn, PS1, N64, Dreamcast and PS2 along with PC games that I would list under my favourites but to be completely honest with myself I have to limit myself to the most recent (easy to remember) and the ones I played so much that I can still remember them. Because of that I've left out a lot of popular games that I loved, the ones above are probably my favourite when I look at it right now.

The games I listed are games that I spent ridiculous ammounts of time playing, unreasonable ammounts of time playing every single one. No other games spring to mind that can compete with the sheer ammount of time i spent playing and more importantly... enjoying those games.

I'm ancient. I was born during the video game crash of 1983. Enough about that, here's my list.

10. Pitfall(Atari 2600)
9. Mega Man 2(NES)

2. Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior(Arcade)
1. Final Fantasy VI(SNES, PS1)

Honorable Mentions(or the first losers):
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy X
Tales of the Abyss
Mega Man X
InFAMOUS

Note 1: The pick is representative of the whole franchise.
