How much sleep do you get? When? Where?

I'm ready to pass out at my desk. Eyelids falling, head nodding... work, boring.

I go to bed at around 12:00 AM and get up at 5:30, Monday through Friday. On weekends I stay up til about 1:00 or 2:00 AM and sleep til about ten. I used to get up early on weekends but not anymore.

mmmmmmm, sleeeeeeeep.

I love sleeping, but I don't get enough of it.
Work usually keeps me till about 1 am if not later so I usually don't fall asleep until about 4-5am. I usually force myself to get up at around 10am so that I feel like I haven't totally wasted my day. However, I've been sleeping in more and more as my workload has increased. I'm at the tail end of a 16 day work week and I'm getting rather run down. I can't wait till my next day off as sleeping is definately on the agenda.

I have a mild form of insomnia, so i don't get the sleep i need. But my body has learned to deal with it throughout the years, so i don't feel as tired as in the beginning.

I usually fall asleep around 4.00 - 4.30am. Monday till Friday i have to get up at 8am. In the weekends i usually get up between 10.30-11am.

Sleep? Man it would be great to get some... :) I usually don't do to bad, on average 6-7 hours during the week. On weekends when I'm gigging, I start work at 8 am until 5 or 6 pm, then I rush to get cleaned up and head to the gig around 7pm, setup and start playing until 2am, tear down and head home, usually flopping on the bed around 3-4 am, and up at 8am to deal with the things that I need to deal with. So I would say I get around 35 hours of sleep during the week, and on average about 9 hours on the weekend.

Maybe if I sleeped more I could dream or remember my dreams more. I would love to get back to lucid dreaming...

I forgot to mention that on weekends I usually make a nice breakfast, usually waffles, then go back to bed for an hour or so. It's nice because second time around the coffe is already made :)

I suffer the late nights and early mornings that accompany my career choice. I'll be awake at midnight, and up at 5:00-5:30 M-F. Weekends, I sleep in until 6:30. go to bed at midnight. Ever since graduating from high school, I've never really slept more than 6 hours a night.

Wish it was more.

Breakfast, then back to bed... Big smiley with far off look in eyes.

During the school week, I usually go to bed at 1:00 AM and wake up at 7:00 AM to go to school. I go to bed at 2:00 AM or so during the weekend and wake up at 10:00 AM. Right now, I stay up to 5:00 AM in the morning and wake up at 12:00 PM in the afternoon because it's vacation right now.

Imagine what life must've been like before electricity. Not many people stayed up until midnight or 2:00AM I bet. And sleeping until 10:00AM or 12:00PM was also probably pretty rare.

I'm in the midnight-to-6:30a club during the week. Weekends it's more like 1:00a-9:00a. Not bad hours considering. I used to be able to go indefinitely on 4 hours a night, but as I'm aging that is not happening anymore.

Unfortunately my GT3 time usually comes out of those sleep hours. For instance I got woken up this morning at about 2:30a so I played GT3 till about 4:00a. Not the best conditions for hot lap times.

Same here.

well, I'm on vacation till Monday...I've been sleeping from about 2-3AM till anywhere from 7 to 11 AM, depending on what's hapening around me. Ypu see, I've been sleeping on the sofa since the Friday I got off school(the 21st I think), wrapped up in a comforter. I sleep really good on the sofa, most of the time watching the 53" Sony and I just dose off. When I'm on vacation, I don't care when I fall asleep, so I can sleep better.

On school night, I usually try to fall asleep right after 11pm, and wake up anywhere from 5-6:25 AM(on my own, no alarm clock or anything, well sometimes(rarely) my dad has to wake me up). This, in a way, creates stress. I feel like I won't feel good in the morning if I fall asleep too late. Some times, I can't sleep for nothing, and I finally fall asleep at like 2 AM, and I am a mess, a lot of times waking up like 2 hrs later, falling asleep again, waking up at about 6(with the thought to just relax in bed listening to the radio(when I go to sleep in my room, I have the radio and a lava lamp on, I like sleeping with stuff on), and then I fall asleep again, and my dad wakes me up at like 6:45 and I'm just really horrible. In the morning before school, I try to get up at 6:25, maybe eat something, and go on the net(and on here), and all my morning functions(like getting dressed, using the pc, and getting stuff together) are really set in stone, I'm really time-oriented. Any obstical in my routine and I'm ready to hang up my whole day. That's why I hate waking up late.

Also, I have a thought about sleep: I'd rather spend more of my life awake then sleeping. If it was up to me, I'd stay up for days. But in the world, at night, everything and everyone, for the most part, sleeps. So if you stay up for days, your nights are filled with boredom, thus you might as well just sleep.
Basicly put, the world puts peer-pressure on you to sleep. For most people, the more sleep the better, they say. Not for me though. studies have been done, and excessive sleep can cause several issues. So can staying up, but if you use moderation, it's pretty good.

So, for me, I want to be awake.

I have been working day-shift hospital hours for about 5 years now. My body normally wakes me at about 4:45 EVERY morning. (I work 35 miles from the house) I ususally hit the rack before midnite if I have to work the next day.
Usually before 1 am if I am off the next morn. I do occasionally sleep in 'till about 6:00.

Yep. Also, If I go to bed any earlier than 11:30 I end up waking up in the middle of the night, never fail.

You're just like me bimmerkid!:)
My latest was probably around 6:00... I like to get alot of sleep, besides, my mom makes me.!!lol!

On school nights I just go to sleep when I'm tired. That's normally around 11-midnight, and then I wake up at 6 the next morning. On weekends I'll normally stay up until at least 2 or 3am, unless I'm tired, then I'll go to sleep whenever. When I'm up late on weekends, I usually sleep in until about noon or 1pm

On schooldays, I'll usually go to bed around 10:30 or 11:00 pm, and wake up at about 5:00 am. That all might change next semester though, since I have a totally new schedule.

On school weekends, I usually go to sleep around 10:00 pm, and wake up at 7:30 am.

During vacation time (such as right now), I usually go to bed around 10:00 pm and wake up at 8:30 am.

I do a lot of exercise (run 4 times a week, 3 weight sessions) and I'm 32, so I tend to need a fair bit of sleep. I'm generally in bed by about 10.30 or so, and I'm up at 5.30 on weekdays I'm running, 6.30 otherwise.

Weekends - well, depends if we're going out, but generally 11 - 11.30, up at about 7.30 - 8.00.

Schooldays: 10.30PM/11.30PM - 6.30AM
Weekends/holidays: 12.30PM/--.--AM - 8.00AM/--.--AM
Day(s) before practice/quals/races: 8.00PM/9.00PM - 5.30AM/6.30AM

I need a lot of sleep when competing in karting tournaments/seasonal races, they tend to get the best of me when I haven't been working out/sleeping or eating sensibly enough the days or weeks in advance.

Well, GTC interrupts some of my sleeping time, so I'm always tired. I stagger off to bed around 1am, and my girlfriend akes me at 8am every day, so I'm perpetually tired.

One of these days, I'll stay off GTC and enjoy a nice night in with the girlfriend.

One of these days . . .

It is - don't like to sleep in too long, feels like I've wasted a good part of the day...and you don't want to be doing that on the weekend, especially when most of your activities are 'daylight' things.

i sleep form 11pm to 6am on schooldays...and it's reccomended i get like 9 hours.
on weekends, i stay up until around 1 (4, last night) and get up at 10ish (9:45, this morning).

sleep is good.

During the week, I try to get to bed around 12:30, and force myself to sleep. I get up between 7 & 7:45 for work. I want to start getting up AT 7, so that I can go for a quick run around the block before work, but it's doubtful that that will happen!

At the weekends, it all depends on what we're doing. My wife likes to sleep, and needs more sleep than me, so I tend to try and get up around 9:30, to get three or four hours development in on my web site before she wakes up.

It looks like the old "8 hours a day" philosophy has gone out the window. I can still pull all-nighters when needed, but my body really needs the 8hrs in some form or another. If I don't get enough one night, my body clock usually takes over and send me to sleep an hour ealry (if permitted).

I'm a cranky mofo if I don't get regular sleep. If I get 6hrs. a night for 4 nights, that 5th day is hell on me and everyone else.

Two earplugs, and I'll sleep like a baby, through anything. But if I'm up for more than 3-5minutes, I can never get back to sleep. That's when I find time for the 'net or GT or a website.

It's holidays so:

Bed at usually 12:30am
Get to sleep usually 2:30am
Surface from bed usually 1pm
Sleep @ home in bed
Total hours: 11.5 hours
