New Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges will become available over the next few hours, depending on your local time zone, bringing some of Update 1.61’s new content into this money-spinning bonus mode.
Weekly Challenges consist of a set of five races, mostly drawn from existing events in “World Circuits”, and offer bonus prizes for completion. You’ll find the events in a special green box in that area of the game — and on the individual races — which includes one that’s created just for the week.
There’s no really low-payout event this week, with the victory rewards starting at 45,000cr for each of two events for Japanese road cars.
The first is the brand-new race at Alsace Test Course. That’s a five-lap rollercoaster — literally — for front-wheel drive vehicles in the Japanese FF Challenge 450. A sibling event, the Japanese 4WD Challenge 600, has the same reward for three laps of Red Bull Ring, this time in AWD cars.
Our Special Event for the week is up next, with an 80,000cr reward for winning one of the cutest races around. It stars the all-new Honda N-One RS, and every single AI car is packing the widebody mod and a special livery. There’s no tuning limits for this three-lap race of the full Suzuka Circuit, but on a first run the AI don’t feel like they’re too far off the 400PP cap in the regular Lightweight K-Cup.
There’s something a little pacier after that, with the Hypercar Parade event visiting Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The restrictions here only call for a road car, but you’re going to need something that can deal with an Aston Martin Valkyrie in this high-speed event with a surprisingly low, 85,000cr payout for victory.
We’re back into the regular routine of a World Touring Car event for the final race, in the WTC800 as you head to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This ten-lap race has a hard Performance Point cap of 800PP, but it should be a breeze in almost any standard Gr.3 car — as that’s your opponent field. You’ll need Racing Tires, but there’s no need to worry about rain here as you chase the 154,000cr first-place prize.
For bonus rewards this week there’s guaranteed cash and a high-value ticket on offer. Completing any one race — by finishing third or better — will award you with a 100,000cr ticket, while finishing any three adds a 200,000cr to that. Don’t forget you’ll need to redeem these to earn the money. Finally there’s a Six-Star Roulette ticket, that can award you with 500,000cr, 1,000,000cr, or any Brand Central car (including Invitation-only cars) worth 500,000cr or more.
You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday August 1.
