Project Motor Racing’s Full List of 30 Achievements Revealed

We’re just about three months out from Project Motor Racing releasing on November 25, the debut title of Straight4 Studios. While there’s still a bit of time until the game’s launch, it appears the curtain has been pulled back a little early on the game’s structure through its Achievements.

There’s 30 in total, and the full list comes courtesy of Xbox Achievement-hunting site TrueAchievements. The list includes the amount of gamerscore (GS) players can ultimately attain — 1000 in total, as usual — with short descriptions, though not all of them are entirely self-explanatory. While the XBox Achievements are available, the Steam equivalents are yet to be published but they will be identical.

Of the 30 Achievements, a couple catch our eyes. For starters, there’s the “GTR2” series of achievements which, while also keyed to a category of car, are undoubtedly a callback to 2006’s GTR 2 – FIA GT Racing Game with which the Project CARS series and even PMR share a lot of their virtual DNA. There’s also the “Get Real” achievement which is yet another callback, albeit this time to SimBin Studios’ original tagline.

There’s plenty of performance-related Achievements here too, with players set the challenge of beating real world lap times at a number of circuits. These also give away some of the circuits’ in-game identities, with Blue Mountains, Brianza, and Derby as generic regional names representing the renamed Bathurst/Mount Panorama, Monza, and Donington Park respectively — alongside Silverstone/Northampton.

You’ll collect Achievements for driving the various car categories, and you’ll need to turn your play profile up (or rather leave it in the default) to the “Authentic” play mode for quite a few trophies too — the aforementioned Get Real Achievement being one. This is the intended way to play PMR, basically as a survival mode, and switches off usual racing game amenities like restarts.

Online racing is also mandatory if you want to check off the Achievements, with the single highest-scoring entry requiring you to win ten online multiplayer races for 125GS. There’s also a mystery Achievement, bearing the name “The Shortest Straw”, for which the only description is “Racing is expensive”. This 10GS entry could be related to how you select your starting budget, but we’ll have to wait and see…

While the Achievements have been published already, we’ve not yet seen the equivalent list of PlayStation Trophies. They’re likely to be identical in name as usual, other than the additional Platinum for collecting all of the others, but it remains to be seen how the 30 will be bracketed as there can be some major differences. Given the usual points distribution, there could be as many as six Golds, with ten Silvers and the remainder as Bronze.

We’ll bring you these when they’re made available, so stay tuned to GTPlanet for more on Project Motor Racing as we get closer to its release.
