Premium Multiplatform Rig

GTPlanet Featured Build

This build takes the best parts of our Premium PlayStation Rig and adds support for Xbox. The foundation is the Gran Turismo DD Extreme (18 Nm) wheel bundle, a big jump in power over the 8 Nm base in our more budget-friendly rigs, and it includes the larger diameter, licensed Gran Turismo wheel. You're also getting the CSL Pedals LC, which have a load-cell brake (it responds to how hard you press, not just how far the pedal moves) and a clutch.

The key addition is the Fanatec CSL Steering Wheel GT3, which is an Xbox-compatible wheel. Fanatec wheel bases bring PlayStation compatibility, while Fanatec steering wheels (or "rims") bring Xbox compatibility. Used together, the same core hardware works with both consoles, and it works on PC too. It's similar to our Best Budget Multiplatform Rig, but with a much more powerful wheel base.

It all mounts in the Fanatec CSL Cockpit v1.5 and Seat Bundle, which gives you a solid, comfortable driving position. The cockpit is a compromise here. It can handle the heavy DD Extreme wheel base, but you're starting to push its limits for serious use. You could get more stability with a heftier cockpit, but that costs more.

The GT3 wheel has a different shape from a typical road car wheel, so it might feel a little off if you plan to drive mostly road cars on Xbox, but to be frank, that's a minor inconvenience when you're getting this much power and functionality for less than $2,000.
