Halloween may be everyone’s favorite spooky time of year, but there’s nothing to scare you if you’re a PC racing game fan this weekend. Steam is running its traditional, annual fright night sale, and there’s a number of enticing racing titles running at between 25% and 90% discounts.
The sale has already started, and runs through to Monday November 2, so there’s plenty of opportunity to pick up a suite of racing games. Among the most tempting are Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione, at 80% and 60% off respectively. The original AC is also available in ultimate edition, with all of the various content packs, at a 90% discount — coming in at just under $8 (£6). ACC’s content packs have a 35% discount too.
For some full-on simulator fun, rFactor 2 is also running at a steep discount of 50% at $16 (£13). To knit with the Steam discount, Studio 397 is also offering some car and track bundles at a discount. The Track Expansion bundle adds Nurburgring, Le Mans, Sebring, and “Circuit d’Azur” (Monaco by any other name) at 25% off, and a GT3 car pack includes 12 GT3-class race cars with 50% off.
Fans of the original Project CARS can add it to their PC collection for barely $5 (£4), though the two sequels remain at full price. DIRT 4 is similarly inexpensive at just over $6 (£5), and will pass the time while you’re waiting for DIRT 5’s launch next week.
