With Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s Season 4 now in full swing, KT Racing is back to discuss the changes coming in the promised mid-season update and a glimpse at what’s to come in Season 5.
As mentioned, Season 4 began this past July and with it came new cars, event changes, quality of life adjustments, a clothing shop and car parts shop, and the hallmark inclusion of the Wintory Casino — though it wasn’t (and still isn’t) available to everyone.
That’s because local gambling laws meant that the feature was banned in 61 countries, leaving players there with no way of obtaining the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series that’s exclusive to the casino. KT has expressed the intention to share details for those excluded before Season 5 but, unfortunately, those details weren’t included with this news update.
However, there’s still plenty to come in the mid-season update when it arrives on September 10. Read on for all the details!

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Season 4: Casino Changes
Next month will see the Wintory Casino expand with two additional features. First, the Gold Dragon Slot Machine, a high-payout slot machine will feature new sounds and animations, and most importantly will allow players to win up to 1,000,000 Casino Chips and convert them into 2,000,000 Solar Coins when cashing out.
Which perfectly leads into the second feature, the ability to cash-out Casino Chips. All players have to do is head to the bank teller within the casino and covert all Casino Chips to Solar Coins at the same 2:1 ratio that you can buy them. Both features will be available on day one of the mid-season update when it releases on September 10.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Season 4: Poker Delayed
Originally penned for the mid-season update, KT has delayed poker to the launch of Season 5. The team wants to make sure the feature the networking of the casino addition is “flawless and completely bug-free on its launch”.
That said, the developers included a five-minute, work-in-progress gameplay video of the poker tables. As expected, this isn’t an indication of the final product as the team is still polishing animations (as evidenced by the temporal artifacting/ghosting when anything is in motion) and networking to give players a more fluid experience.
Beyond that, KT has its sights set on improving the Casino further. While these features don’t have a set date for inclusion, they include the ability for players to sit down and interact with the spaces around them, game progression while in the Casino, and the GT Black Series exclusive reward car being available to players in the regions where the Casino isn’t available due to previously mentioned gambling restrictions.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Season 4: Anti-Cheat Removal
Following player concerns and reports, KT confirms it will be permanently removing the PC-only SARD anti-cheat from the game when the update drops on September 10. The focus then will turn to improving the game’s own report system.
Should players come across cheaters, KT seemingly ensures they will still be “properly dealt with”. As ever, further details on the improvements to the in-game reporting system and the combating cheaters in TDUSC will be shared once available.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Season 4: Optimization & Fixes
Game optimization is a hot button topic in the game, and the team is aware of this, though cautions that it isn’t something that will improve overnight. The overall goal is to release a new minimum and recommended PC spec sheet in Year 2, alongside improvements to console quality and performance modes.
The mid-season update for TDUSC will also include a “wide array” of bug fixes, some of which include a working friends list, Achievements/Trophies being fixed, and KT also confirms Daily Challenge rewards will be fixed in the update as well.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Season 5: Detective Missions
Finally, the development team recently asked the community which one of four different mission types would be featured in Season 6 and, with just over two-fifths of the votes, the winner is Detective Missions.
The precise details of this event will be revealed in due course, but the approximate scenario is that you’ll be set a task of finding a “suspect” by discovering and following clues, before tailing them in a mode similar to Tail Mode in TDU2.
While that means you won’t be taking part in any of the other three mission types this time, there’s some hope that they’ll make an appearance in future Seasons, in Year 3 and beyond.
We’ll expect more to be announced in the Season 5 newsletters, ahead of the mode’s debut in Season 6 when it arrives in January 2026.
